Having recently moved to University Place, I was looking for a local place for a facial. After reading some of the Yelp reviews, I decided to give Serenity Spa a try. I am so happy that I did! The front office staff, especially Diamond are extremely welcoming and a pleasure to deal with. The spa itself is beautiful and serene. The waiting area has water and warm neck wraps to wear while you wait for your aesthetician. My aesthetician is Maddie and she is fantastic. Maddie is extremely knowledgeable about skin and the products that she uses. Maddie is also an amazing person as well. By the way they have monthly membership that includes two services of your choice a massage or a facial, or two of the same service. The price is right too. I booked spa appointments for me and my daughter to celebrate her college graduation. We drove 40 minutes to get to the spa. When we were about to walk into the spa I received a text from J assistant manager. She reported that they had to cancel one of the two appointments I had scheduled for my daughter due to staffing emergency. The spa took the money from my visa card when I booked the appointments. I asked if I would be getting a refund on my visa card for the appointment that they canceled. I was told by J that it was company policy they don't do refunds. I explained that it was them that canceled the appointment not me. J told me I could rebook this appointment because they don't do refunds. The spa appointments that we did have were wonderful. So about a year ago, I had a membership with this company and when I canceled there was $120 credit on my account and apparently they decided to take it because I didn't use that credit within 90 days. That's a bunch of crap. I would never go to this place again. The fact that they should've just given me a refund instead of telling me that I get to eat $120 is ridiculous. Phenomenal therapeutic massage by Isabelle! She will fix all your knots and is so knowledgeable. She really listens and pays attention to where you hold tension in your body. I booked her by chance and immediately signed up for a monthly membership after my massage. She will work you and you'll walk out like jello. I swear I stand taller the next day. The membership is a great deal for what you get and the business is flexible with how you use your benefits. Unlike other places, the commitment is only 3 months, and you can add one person to your membership. Spa is gorgeous and the people at reception are so helpful! Love this spa! Friendly staff, very knowledgeable. Cleanliness is my most picky thing, and this spa is great! They offer a tea specifically made for them by a local tea company that was delicious, I bought a bag for myself at home. Never had a bad service, but I especially love Robin and Natalie for facials. I've also heard Maddie is phenomenal, but I have yet to get on her schedule because she is so loved. Darren gave me an AMAZING massage. Deep, yet not too deep, and very intuitive with his touch. On top of having my brows done frequently, I've had a number of different types of facials as well as other areas waxed. She is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about skin care and always makes me feel so comfortable. All in all, I always leave feeling amazing and pampered. Fabulous place that I enjoy coming to at least once a month and always leave feeling relaxed! People are friendly, courteous, and professional. Carmen is amazing, and have seen her twice, thus far. I had Dermaplaning done one month ago and she worked on tweaking my skin routine which I have been getting a lot of unsolicited feedback about how great my skin looks. Today I got an Oxygen Facial which was a first for me, and my skin feels really good! Natalie and Maddie are great as well, and helped me a lot with establishing and maintaining a skin routine that works! Kelly and Nichelle give great massages which makes you want to fall asleep and melt into the table. I have been to spas all over the world, so my standards are really high. My mom surprised me with a massage gift card for $150 to serenity spa since I've been tense lately and she bought the package called gemstone massage. The lady even wrote gemstone on the gift card. So I go in today and let her know it's the gemstone 60 min massage and she said yes then the masseuse brought me to the back and asked if I would like to add on anything and I told her no I'm okay my mom bought me the stone massage and she said I'm sorry we don't have the stones hot right now you have to call in advance to let us know. I said it's in the package she bought me and she just said we can't I'm sorry but maybe another time. My mom also added the tip in the gift card and at the end she said okay you have $40 left over, I said my mom put it in the gift card and she said okay have a good day. So your telling me you get a $40 tip after an hour massage of a package I didn't even receive. Unbelievable. Never going back. read more

I am so saddened to have to write this because I really did love this spa. Unfortunately due to some issues, I do not think I will come back. I scheduled a $200 facial with reign and it was absolutely amazing. She is truly a gem in this business. I rescheduled another appointment with reign for a few months later. On the day of my appointment my aesthetician provider was changed to Kayla, as reign was on leave for school (meaning when I scheduled they knew this) I was not notified of the provider change until the same day of the appt, and I did not want to go to a new person & tried to cancel to be met with a 50% deposit fee for cancellation same day. Well, I totally understand the policy, but I was not notified of the change of provider until the same day. Which is extremely unfair and they could have made an exception to the deposit based on their negligence to notify me of a provider change. I should've just bit the cost of cancel because the facial I received from Kayla was pretty bad. She talked the entire time, there was not a moment of silence for me to relax. For $240 and a $30 tip, I expected to at least be relaxed when I left. Kayla informed me that my skin was too dry to do extractions which was my main reason for being there. She did nothing to resolve that, and I received a bare minimal effort facial. I'm very disappointed with this service & business. read more

This establishment needs to understand the wording on its website. I purchased a gift card through the website following the language on the site. I requested that a gift card be sent at midnight on May 17. I wanted my girlfriend to receive the gift card before May 18, which was her birthday. I was not given a receipt after the purchase process on the website. I checked my credit card statement. I was charged $330 for the gift card. I called to talk to the manager Nina Sky . who promised to take care of the issue; three days passed, no call, email, nothing. I called again and was told my purchase was found. I ask for a copy of the receipt. She promised I would receive it through email. I got a text stating that an appointment was made for May 17, 11:30. Nowhere on the website is an area to make an appointment for a gift card. The one option is an email to send the gift card to the recipient, not make an appointment. I texted back, saying this appointment was not acceptable, and I then received a text saying my gift card was canceled. It took several times for an actual person to answer my call. It kept going to voicemail. I then again talked with Nina Sky, the manager, to request a new appointment and was told. I would receive a call back which I have yet to receive. I called several times. Till I believe I was blocked. This resulted in me filing a complaint with my credit card. I don't feel this was handled professionally, especially after speaking with the manager.
