The groomer has been plucking our poodle's ear hairs for three years without our permission or knowledge. We've had "no hair plucking" on our file for the entire time we've been bringing our dog here, and we just found out today that the groomer has been doing this the whole time. I think the groomer understood "no plucking" to mean "just a little bit of plucking". I understand the medical rationale for plucking small amounts of hair from poodles' ears, but I really thought "no plucking" was clear. When we called, it seemed like we came to an understanding after clearing up the miscommunication, and that she would clarify the plucking situation with customers in the future. But as soon as I asked for a refund for this single grooming session, she laughed at me and became very defensive and angry. Misunderstanding or not, I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for one refund after three years of our dog having this painful procedure done without our consent. I understand a lot of people don't think it's a big deal, but we specifically asked for it not to be done, and we were under the impression that it wasn't happening. To her credit, the groomer did agree to issue a full refund, which I appreciate. But I don't appreciate being laughed at and treated with contempt. I do genuinely wish everyone at Serenity Paws well, but I can't recommend doing business with them when such clear instructions are not respected. read more

So my dog got hit by a skunk really bad. I called around to several groomers that could help. The only saving grace was, Barbara who fit me into a tight schedule. Talk about a business full of Grace. I felt Horrible taking my stinky dog into their professional establishment. But they had the professionalism of an emergency room. Within two hours, they had performed magic and got my dog to a point that I wasn't wanting him to jog home behind the vehicle. Your technicians did a marvelous job and they even tried to clean some of his accessories. This organization is a first rate business. Even getting reply calls from voice mail businesses from earlier in the day only replied "we are full, and sorry we don't take skunk hit animals." Serenity, you will never know how much I appreciate you going the extra steps. And I know my dog is a whole lot happier. You've earned this recommendation. read more

Beware!!! They injured my dog during a grooming. My poor Sparky could not even open his eyes after picking him up. He couldn't open his eyes all night so I took him to my Vet in the morning. He needed treatment and steroid eye drops. I returned to ask for the manager to refund the $161 from the Vet. She made every excuse why she shouldn't pay. Finally she said would pay half. We have members for 6 years and this is how we are treated? I told them to cancel my membership and I'll never come back. Not once did she should any empathy or remorse. read more

Sugar, Spice and I are new to Colorado Springs. After a couple different groomers, we found Serenity Paws through our neighborhood Facebook page (between 12 and 15 refrences!) My girls look amazing, and I will find a better picture. Because they're GORG!!! But more so, the love and attention the girls got from their groomer is priceless. Both girls are rescues, and who knows what they've been through. Sugar (who is afraid of her own shadow) went to get attention from her Groomer, Katie, AFTER being groomed! We've taken our dog here for grooming for three years. Never really had any issues. Now they are charging a membership fee of at least $15/month for the "privilege" of taking your dog to groom. If you don't agree to the monthly fee, they charge you $25 above the original grooming charge. When I complained, the owner said "You can't go into a gas station and try to negotiate because you don't like their high prices!" Talk about an "apples & oranges" argument! There are plenty of other groomers in town who do a fine job without having to deal with a snooty, condescending owner and outrageous prices. read more

My mini schnauzer lost the fight with a prickle bush and need a hair cut BAD! I called about an hour before closing and they were so sweet and were able to fit him in and didn't complain or make me feel like they were doing me a huge favor like some places would have. When I got there to someone came out to explain what needed to be done and made sure I was okay with everything and again when they brought out my baby boy they talked to me and made sure I was 100% satisfied and happy with everything. I have a golden retriever. It costs $60 to have him groomed (bathed, trimmed, nails ground). Katie is top notch. She does an excellent job thinning my dog's thick coat under his neck and his rear end. She keeps his double coat looking true to his breed but helps him keep cool in summer. My dog comes home with a shiny, smooth coat and in good spirits. Katie is gentle about removing tangled hair. To top it off, Katie sent my dog home with a festive bandanna making him look super cute. It took about two hours for the grooming. He's been here 3x and that seems about average. read more

When a grooming for a lap dog exceeds the price of getting my hair cut/styled, I draw the line. This used be a great down to earth reasonably priced great dog groomer. When they started taking students learning to groom things started to go downhill so I went to another salon nearby. The owner of Serenity acquired that groomer and are now charging this membership fee on top of grooming prices that are already $20 more than I used to pay. Unfortunately the high end demographic they're seeking isn't reflective of the majority in this area and new pricing structure will drive people like me elsewhere. read more

I have to pay $15 a month to get my dog groomed there every 7 weeks or so...to even get an appointment? Just raise the grooming price and call it good. TIP: You can pay a little extra to have expedited service which means they take your dog in right away. Our golden-doodle HATES cages so he is not having any of that. We always pay the extra and have him go straight to bathing/grooming. If your dog is cool waiting in a cage then no problem. Serenity Paws had great reviews on yelp and could get her in next day, so I decided to give them a try - I'm glad I did! I was greeted promptly by the kind lady who runs the front desk, Angel. The groomer, who was going to clip my dog, came out to talk to me about any nuances and so that I could explain exactly how I wanted her clipped. She was super friendly and understanding, giving my my dog a few minutes to warm up to her before she took my dog into the back. After just two hours, the shop called to let me know that my dog would be done in 30 minutes! When I arrived, that same groomer brought my dog back out to me and gave me a summary on how my dog did. I didn't realize until I left (and grabbed her business card) that she was also the owner! The people who work here really care that your pet has a good experience, and their customer service skills are great. I highly recommend them. read more

So I took my dog here cause she has IVDD and they advertise taking care of dogs that need special treatment. The first time was great with no issues. This time they had lost all the notes from the previous time. I re explained everything to the girl at the counter that took my dog back. Once I got her home I noticed she is acting strange and has another flare up now. You can tell something happened and they didn't finish the trim on her underside. My dog, Koda, HATED getting his nails trimmed. The groomer I used to take him to said they couldn't take him anymore and I all but gave up until my mom mentioned this to Katie, the wonderful owner. Katie offered to give him a try. She is SO good with him and she was able to successfully trim his nails in a way that was comfortable for him! They are also sensitive to his needs as he has double hip dysplasia and is protective of his hip/tail area. My whole family takes our dogs here and I know they take excellent care of them; they now willing go to the back and/or jump up on the table!
