Very unclean place. The nail dryer was disgusting and full of "I do not know what" on the inside. My nail tech person had his phone underneath the table, and he kept watching it while he did my nails. He went and helped a pedicure person and did not wash his hands after touching her feet. The plastic divider was dirty as well. No hand massage either, which was good as I really didn't want him touching my hands. I hurried to my car to apply hand sanitizer afterward. read more

Don't mess around with those other Mankato nail salons come to serenity nails! My nail technician, Crystal, was so so nice. She was very skilled at what she does, and was great to chat with. They believe that the customer should come first, and they make you feel right at home. When I first arrived at the salon they asked me how they could help me, and I responded that I would like an acrylic fill, and they said to come back in an hour and they could help me then. I really appreciate when nail salons let me know straight up how long it will be, because at other salons I have had the issue of waiting around when they said it will be a few minutes, and really it takes about 45 minutes until they can see me. But that is not the case here! I got back an hour later, and Crystal gladly welcomed me back and very friendly explained the prices and what services they could offer. An acrylic fill with gel polish is $30, and with normal polish it is $20. I love how my nails turned out! While talking with Crystal, I found out that the salon also does eyelash extensions, the initial application is $100, and every fill is $50. I really want to come back here and have the service done! Everyone in the salon seems to pay very close attention to detail and it is not without notice from their customers. They also have a loyalty program, so make sure to sign up when you pay! I decided to come try this place out because every other place in Mankato that does nails is subpar, in my experience, and I saw that the other yelp reviews of serenity nails were absolutely amazing. the first picture is what i asked for the second is what i got, they stopped in the middle of my nails to go trim a walk in's toenails who had come in after me and i had to wait 30 minutes for them to come back and finish my nails. the staff was friendly but not conversational during the appointment. the tech who did them didn't ask me how short or long i wanted them and trimmed them super short as i wanted them the length i had in the reference picture. the shape isn't even and neither is the length on all of my nails. they also don't even bother to push back my cuticles or trim them so if i were to do that now on my own they would look grown out and i just got them today read more

Gel pedicure - used the electric machine to remove my gel polish but took off my nail almost to the skin. There is hardly anything left for the polish to adhere to and it's peeling off. My big toe nail is now so thin the nail peeling and tearing after I shower. The gel didn't cure and I'm afraid to go back to have it fixed because the nail is so thin and soft. read more

I made an appointment to have 3 pedicures and nails done with my granddaughter. First negative was they took 2 walk ins before us even though we were there which meant we were not able to sit together. Next the pedicures were rushed, not enjoyable, and their water was cold. Also they did not give my granddaughter a manicure they just painted her nails and charged for a manicure. I had gone to Serenity Nails a few times, the gal did do a good job on my gel nails, however The one that worked on me had re-used tools that were used on other people's nails, this will cause nail fungus and it's just not healthy. A lady walked in and asked for the manager, all the workers didn't know what she meant, so she asked for the owner, one worker said she was not there and asked the lady "how can I help you ", the lady then announced that she was the state inspector and needed to see everyone's license. Well, after a few people excused themselves they took off out the back door. ( even the one working on my nail) Eventually the owner showed up and the inspector informed her of the laws and was given a small fine. read more

My toenails look incredible BUT I chose a color and nothing was said...when she was "massaging" my feet and especially my calves she did it really hard and dug her fingernails into my skin. She then asked if I wanted gel polish because it looks better and dries faster and I of course said sure. I choose the $40 Deluxe pedicure and so when I got up to the register she says $60 and I was confused and she told me the gel polish was and extra $20! I assumed it was a little charge but another $20! Plus the fact that she NEVER once mentioned it would be more money! Again my toes look great but the whole experience kind of soured me from a place that I normally raved about to everyone. So...if money is a top priority then ASK! I had a couple hours to kill today, so searched for a nail salon that would be able to do a pedicure right away. I called Serenity Nails and they said to come in. I arrived and picked out my nail color. This was honestly the BEST pedicure I've ever received! They took their time and the massage felt amazing. The painting job was perfect, and I didn't have to sit under the dryer for a terribly long time. The salon was clean, the chairs were comfy, and the staff were so nice. Pricing was normal. This is an excellent nail salon where I have Vanessa do my acrylic pink and white nails. I have gone to many nail technicians over the years and she is by far the best. She just began using a new technique called "Dip in Powder System" for pink and white nails which uses no chemicals. This is also better for your nails.
