She listened carefully to my concerns and put me at ease as she explained everything I needed to know about the Mocha Silk smoothing treatment. I also felt challenged with my current haircut shape and Cara came up with some simple suggestions that only required making some minor adjustments. I am thrilled with the treatment, my reshaping trim and Cara's delightful personality and knowledge! My hair is falling better, smooth and shiny and still has body.

I have a wedding to attend Friday night and was happy to find an appt at this late date. Soon after booking for 11:30 AM, I received an email from the owner Tamara advising the appt was not accepted. I called and receptionist told me that the appointment was "rejected" and instead of offering me another time, she suggested I go somewhere else, with no explanation. I asked why they don't want my business, and she said Tamara would call me within a half hour. It has been hours now and no phone call... not the way to treat a potential new customer...

They had moved to River St I take responsibility for not knowing that, although there is no notice on website except the new address at the bottom. Not knowing they moved, of course I did not look for their address at the bottom of site when i booked online. I called to tell them i could not make it to my appt due to address change and my lack of transportation I asked them not to charge as I would re-book. But bc of their unfriendly customer service policies they charged me 50%. I expressed my opposition to this but they didnt care. And they also didnt care when i said i would find a new salon . Was it really worth it Salon Etre to lose a 10 yr customer over a policy and a 50% charge for a wash and blow out you did not deliver? I would have given some grace and made an exception for a 10 yr customer who had never canceled in the past, waived the fee, and used the salon's slush fund to cover the stylist. You would have had me for another 20 yrs!

If you are looking for not only an amazing haircut but also a chill vibe mixed with professional…read moreand exquisite service then you have arrived at the place to go: Hair Lab! My appointment with Erick left me smiling from ear to ear and so happy with the cut I received. He took my homegrown self service haircare and elevated it to a level of modern freshness. And Erick's energy is so serene that you will leave feeling at peace with yourself as if you attended a yoga retreat!! It truly is a magical place! I entered with a cut that I had been hacking away with at home and emerged with style that was top notch and exactly what I had been wanting. I explained my parameters to Erick very loosely and then left the rest up to his professional expertise. He knew exactly which direction to go in to lighten my bob and give it the bounce and layers it so desperately needed. To me there is zero comparison to any other salon. No glitz. No fuss. Just pure hair cutting and styling that will make you feel a new sense of self and give you faith back in humanity as an added bonus!

I was looking for a new place to get my hair cut, having recently moved to Norwalk. I looked at…read moremany places on Yelp and was attracted to the decor of Nyla's. I reached out on Yelp and was able to make an appointment for the same night! I was sitting in my car waiting for my appointment time (because of COVID) and Nyla stepped out the back for a moment, noticed I was in my car, and came to ask if I was Erica, then invited me to come inside to wait. I filled out a questionnaire and had my temperature taken which I appreciate because I'm concerned of COVID and the precautions being taken by business. Everyone was so nice! Her husband spoke with me for around 10 minutes while I waited; her shampoo girl was chatting with me the whole time; and Nyla herself was fantastic, making me feel at home. A customer before me said that I had chosen the best place to come - she has been going to Nyla for 20 years! My hair turned out beautifully... even better than I thought it would. The lighting was fantastic. She even gave me samples of shampoo and conditioner to try.

As a natural redhead whose color has dulled over the years, very few people know how to bring it back to life. I had someone try, but to no avail! My hair was eggplant and looked absolutely horrible. It was my first semi-perm color ever. I needed emergency surgery!!! Nyla's Hair Therapy to the rescue!! Naela brought my hair back to life and made it look even better than my natural color! The most incredible thing about this is that we called the shop Sunday expecting to have someone get back to us during the week. Not more than 10 minutes later the shop called us and even though they are normally closed on Tuesday, I had an appointment for noon. Naela took the time to listen to me and work with my hair. She returned the color back to a vibrant natural red and even threw in a few highlights. She knew exactly what my hair needed and she fit my coloring and face perfectly! Most amazingly is the fact that she came in on a day off after just returning from vacation. That told me all I need to know about her passion for her work and her clients! Nyla's Hair Therapy is now my new "hair home"! The shop has a cool, trendy chic NYC feel and is warmly decorated. Her coffee is delicious and her husband Ben is a wonderful addition to an already perfect place! Whatever your hair needs Nyla's Hair Therapy will have you leaving feeling like a million dollars.
