This is the most uncaring dentist's office I have ever encountered. Just had eleven teeth cleaned, and they charged me $104 .... (Last time, it was $78, and that was too much) Today, they charge $104 (With an insurance discount, the standard price would be $142) $12 a tooth, and took 10 minutes. I also had dentures made this year by them. The temporary ones didn't fit, and they were adjusted two times and still didn't fit. The permanent ones don't fit, so stay away if you need dentures. I have to go to a different dentist to get new dentures remade..... That was a waste of $1,500. Shop around, my opinion is that this office only cares about volume and making money, not dentistry. They make a big deal about being the dentists of the year in the past...... In their dreams. As I said, shopping around you will find better. A small office would provide better service. read more

We were in Wesley Chapel for a work seminar. Our home is outside of Atlanta. My husband started to have tooth pain on a Monday night and by Tuesday night he could not stand the pain. A friend recommended Dr. Patel at Serenity Dental on 2154 Ashley Oaks Circle in Wesley Chapel. We headed there Weds morning as they take walk ins. We had to wait a bit, but understandable when regular patients have appts. The assistant took an X-ray and Dr. Patel went over everything conservatively with us. We found Dr. Patel to be extremely caring, knowledgeable and straight forward. We are so grateful to him. By treating my husband with antibiotics we were able to make it through the week and get home to our dentist. We have utmost respect for Dr. Patel and highly recommend him and the staff at Serenity. I have been to a lot of dentist and it's hard to find one that does great quality and there honest. But I tell you what this place hasn't disappointed once. The office here in land o lakes is awesome. Appointments are always on time. The cleanings are great. Both Dr. Patel's are really great at what they do. Today I needed a crown but I was lucky after they started to say it wasn't as deep as the X-Ray depicted. So I got away with a large filling. Unfortunately several years ago our insurance changed and then went through a short period without insurance. So we were forced to another dentist through a referral and it was awful. I feel a lot of work was unwarranted but even still to this day I have issues with there crowns and sensitivity. Thankfully the entire family has been back to Serenity since 2016. I own a family owned HVAC business and I know my customers have to trust me. It's such a great feeling finding someone you can trust and feel good about using. read more

Stay away!! Charged me for a crown I paid the full amount and then all of a sudden after insurance pays, there's another charge and takes the rest of the reimbursement as a lab fee. The crown is so bad that another dentist said "Do you want to keep that thing? It doesn't match my teeth and is flat." Really bad and ugly crown. Had to go back three times to adjust and then Nita's Patel said there's nothing he could do and walked out of the room. Granted he spent exactly 3 minutes with me (the timer was set behind me) and then charged me 35 dollars for nothing. The crown needed to be replaced. He even recommended a root canal. This was the worst dental experience I have ever had in my life. I have 100% coverage and 0% deductible with my insurance. When I booked the appointment on the phone, the front desk staff said they accept my insurance. I had absess and was in excruciating pain. They bche told me that I had two teeth that needed to be pulled and they could not be saved. I asked him about doing a bridge, but the only thing he said I could do was get implants. I was in so much pain I said okay to the extractions. Then, someone came in and said I had to pay $290 upfront even though the insurance covered the extraction 100% with no deductible and because it was a Medicare Medicaid and plan they had billing issues in the past that they charged up front and then reimbursed later. I said, "No, I'm not paying up front for a procedure that is covered!" Then, another staff came in saying the same thing. I said, "No" again and explained that I did not have $290. Had they told me that on the phone, I would not have come in. I felt I was stuck. I said, "Now it is Friday at end of the day and I will be stuck in agony all weekend!" I was in tears at this point. She went and asked the dentist if they could make an exception. I could hear him say, "Tell her, if the insurance kicks back the bill or doesn't pay, then I will charge her and if she doesn't pay I will send her to collections". He said this loud enough for me to hear from the hallway. I was mortified and humiliated! The staff came in and reiterated the same to me. Shortly afterward the dentist came into the room, and I thought he was going to put numbing strips in to numb my gums before giving the shots of novicaine. Instead, without warning, he start shooting my gums with novicaine! It hurt so badly tears were streaming down my face! I even cried out for him to stop and he just kept on giving me shots. He said, "it hurts because you have an absess". Finally he was done. While I was waiting someone came in the room to take out the trash and I asked them, "Doesn't the dentist use numbing strips before novicaine". She said, "Yes, usually". So before long the dentist came back in and said open wide. He started to take the tooth out. I immediately jumped up and cried out I can feel that! He said, "It is going to hurt because you have a major gum infection". After I yelped several more times he gave more novicaine but didn't even wait for it to take effect! He continued to pry both teeth out. He miliated me and hurt me. Moreover, I found out later if I had such a bad gum infection and absess he was supposed to put me on antibiotics before extracting the teeth instead of after pulling them first. This incident happened 4 years ago. Both my wife and I used to go to Serenity Dental. one time, Doctor recommended I need a deep cleaning. They divided the cleaning procedure into 4 different appointments. But they finished the procedure within 2 appointments. I am not sure how they billed to my insurance company. Next year I went to regular yearly cleaning. I confirmed the purpose of the visit. After the session, they surprised me, in the billing. That day service billed as the follow-up from last year. Charged more $$$ as deductible. The doctor guided the Hygienist and front office to do that. I expressed my dissatisfaction. As a result, later I received a "denial service letter". Good and Honest doctor does not need big Billboards. Please don't wait until you face a similar situation. They are experts in billing. I did not like their service. I started a treatment plan with them that included a series of fillings, and totaled around $600 after insurance. After the first 2 cavities were filled, I left there in excruciating pain that never went away. I came back a week later and was told that I needed root canals on the teeth that had been drilled into, and he didn't know if the fillings would treat it or not so he just "tried it out" to see if it fixed it. I was never in pain when I went there, but left in tears. If I'm not mistaken, that's what I paid for xrays for, to see exactly if I need root canals. I paid upwards of $500 and then still had to go have root canals done on the teeth they treated. As if this wasn't bad enough, one of the last times I saw them to verify I indeed needed xrays, the doctor walked me up front and said to the receptionist "if she has insurance money left, use that, if not don't charge her." She then told me I was all set, and I left. About a month later I received a bill for $40 and started receiving harassing phone calls from Nila. When I finally talked to her, I explained the situation and she proceeded to talk over me saying the doctor never walks patients to the front and he would never have said that. I paid at checkout every single visit, why would this time have been any different unless he actually said that? This place is entirely focused on getting every dollar they can from you, and is willing to lose an entire family over $40... Although to be honest, the incompetence of the doctor regarding the unnecessary fillings had already left a bad taste in my mouth(pun intended). read more

This review is many years overdue , and will expose the two Indian dentists that are brothers at Serenity Dental in lutz and Wesley Chapel . They started about 18 years ago . They were very young with zero experience. Over the years their customers increased because of limited dentist in the growing suburbs of Land O Lakes . The two brothers are not interested in dentistry. They were pushed in that direction by their Indian parents , as is common by people of Indian heritage. They have become greedy and arrogant . What is even more ironic is their disdain for people of their own ethnicity. My experience with them was always a bad experience . I would not recommend them . Went to Dr Patel and paid over $130.00 out of pocket plus insurance to repair a chipped front tooth. He did repair it was horribly and visibly crooked and shorter than corresponding teeth.
