I go about every 2 months for color and a trim. I always leave satisfied and feeling a bit pampered. The stylists in training always consult with an instructor and the instructor checks off on color and cut. I love being able to keep up with my "beauty" needs and not break my little bank. But don't worry that a student is doing the work because they have had enough training at this point to know what they are doing AND there is an instructor who monitors their work and guides them when/if they need it. Then the instructor comes over at the end and checks the cut to ensure that it is done properly and that you are satisfied with it. I have left with a less than perfect haircut before, but I am never dissatisfied. You can get your hair washed/conditioned and cut for $6. I usually tip $4, which brings my total investment to $10 - still well under what you would pay at most any salon or barber, and you are supporting a good cause, helping these students learn a trade. Win, win.

I loved how she made sure that the length and face frame was exactly what I wanted. She was so gentle even when brushing out my tangled, fine hair. At the end of my cut, she recommended certain products but there was no push to buy anything today. I will keep these in mind for next time I come. They said I cussed at them on the phone which was a lie. I have people that verify that I didn't. She refused to give me a refund. I tried to explain and they just continued to say how horrible I was and I'm the rudest person they had ever met. They threatened to call the cops on me after I asked to see the camera footage of how rude I am. They also said they babysat my daughter for 3 hours... the ladies ASKED to take her out of her stroller because she was fussy after sitting there so long. The reason we were there so long is because the instructor left for lunch and was gone well over an hour. The student (none of this is her fault! She tried her best and even made a comment to the instructor) apologized to me multiple times about how long it was taking. She even had to get another student to help because the instructor who was supposed to be there to help thought lunch was more important. She then proceeded to eat when she got back. My friend went in after I came back to the car and they threatened to call the cops on her. They told her if I take the post done they would refund me the money. They also told her my daughter was sick and that's why they had to watch her. They also told her that they offered to replace the full set of nails. Complete and total lies! I hope everyone reads this to know they are the most UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE, MEAN humans I have ever encountered. I'm sorry I never do anything like this but I feel this needs to be told! I recently went to Halo school of cosmetology on Tuesday (9/26) to get my nails done. They were running a killer deal for acrylic nails where you paid $25 for shape, gel and the nails. I went in so excited because I haven't had nails in a while and I love to go to the schools for them to learn. Thursday morning (9/28) one of my nails popped off completely without me doing anything. Just popped straight off in my hand. I called them and asked them if they could fix it because I was just there. The lady said of course. This morning (9/29) my thumb nail popped off as I was tying my daughters shoe. Just tying her shoe lace and it popped off... A THUMB NAIL. Usually to get one of them off you have to give a pick and stab. So I called Halo again and asked if the nails could be taken off and replaced because all of them seem loose. I explained they are popping off like kid dollar tree nails. BECAUSE they are!! You are supposed to be able to do day to day things and nails not come off like this. The lady puts me on hold. She comes back and says "we would have done the two nail fixes but since you said they are dollar tree nails we aren't going to be able to please you" That is not what I said I said they are popping off like those nails. The lady dismissed me again saying "em hm well since we can't please you it's best you don't come back." This is not how you conduct business at all! I completely understand that they are a school and people are learning. I didn't mind sitting there from 10:45-1:30 while the student tried a shape that the instructor recommended but she had never done. I wasn't upset or mad at the fact they kept coming off. I was just trying to get them to fix the mistake that kept happening. It's one thing to offer a discount and yeah I was all for it, but they should have better manners and want not to have a bad rep. When I explained I would be leaving a review she said yeah ok and said bye. I highly warn you ESPECIALLY if you're paying the full price not to go there. If you want to help students leave go to TN institute of cosmetology. I have never had a bad experience with them and will never return to Halo. If only you knew me in person you would know that I never complain, I am quite literally the most understanding, patient, and nice person. I wasn't rude on the phone just asking them to fix the mistake and I laughed when I referenced my daughters dollar tree nails. I wasn't mad until I was dismissed completely. I never do anything for myself and this is how I was treated when I finally made time for me. It's a shame really because I had told so many people about their business, but best believe I will let everyone know about this. Sorry it's so long!

Don't expect good communication, or ANY communication at all, from them. I submitted an inquiry over 4 WEEKS AGO and had even messaged them on another platform (that they continuously post on) to follow up in case they didn't see my initial inquiry, and still never heard back. Didn't expect this type of unprofessionalism at all from this company. I decided to "unsend" my message on the other platform because I don't want to contract with someone who lacks basic communication. I even emailed one of their artists personally as notated in her instagram bio, but crickets as well.. I work in sales so I have been MORE than gracious in giving them time to get back to me, but again.. it's been more than 4 weeks! So now I'm leaving this review. Sucks they lost my business when all it wouldn't taken was an email back. Super bummed bc they were my dream HMU, or so I thought. After asking around about them, haven't heard the best things from locals. Seems like they only give their time and attention to highly budgeted destination weddings LOLLL.
