One thing to note is that they have to locations in the mall. One on the lower level and one on the upper level. When you book, make sure that you note which location because I initially went to the one downstairs but needed to be at the one that was upstairs. (which was an interesting challenge because at the time, most of the escalators and elevators in the mall were out of service). There was some degree of a language barrier which made it a little difficult to communicate preferences, but they were able to ask about pressure of the massage and what areas you would like to focus on. If you are looking for a relaxing spa environment, this isn't it. You hear noise from the mall and some chatter from employees. It is also no frills in terms of waiting areas or decor. But if you want a massage without needing to make an appointment weeks in advance, this is a great option.

Let me tell you, it was far more than a massage. It was body work. She rubbed the knots and tension out of my arms, neck, shoulders, back, and legs. I told her my hamstring was bothering me and she rubbed the knots out of my muscles. I can't say this massage was relaxing and enjoyable. It actually hurt, HOWEVER, I really needed someone to get in there and massage the knots out, which she certainly did. The experience itself is no frills- this is not a typical spa experience if that is what you are used to. But I am a fan because I can tell I'm going to feel so much better once the soreness wears off. And for $60 (plus tip) for one hour of service.. it can't be beat! Body By Design offers many modalities of massage, including Swedish (for relaxation), deep tissue (for muscle knots), trigger point (for tightly contracted muscle fibers and pain), lymphatic (for reducing swelling and edema and supporting the immune system), sports (for athletes), prenatal (for pregnant women), reflexology (no medical diagnoses but a good foot massage), bamboo (for ironing out muscle knots), hot stone (heat for stretching muscles), lomi lomi (which is Hawaiian and is relaxing just like Swedish but uses longer, faster strokes), shiatsu (acupressure and some stretching to restore energy flow and relieve tight muscles), Thai (lots of stretching and compression), etcetera. If you schedule a 1.5-hour or 2-hour massage, then you will have more time to combine multiple modalities into one massage.
