My wife went to this dental office to see about getting new dentures The dentist did a thorough examination of her gums and the dentures She has already and took an X-ray also. The dentist told her that her Dentures are still good. She has a small sore on her gums he did an Adjustment to her dentures, and he said to rinse with salt water and do This for a week. If it still bothers her the Dentist said to come back, and They would do a re-line for her. I feel this Dentist and the office are HONEST because they could have easily charged us for new DENTURES, and we would have paid. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS DENTIST OFFICE. read more

I showed up to a nice clean office. Nice staff. The dentist tried to tell me that I had a tongue tie and said I should get a sleep study done there. I worked with tongue tie experts in my job and knew that was not the case. They said the same to my husband when he came in. When he asked why we should get it done there instead of through insurance we were told because we bought this machine and need to use it. Of the 4 appointments I had with this office three times they told me the Dentist was sick. I had to go in two additional times to have fillings fixed because of mistakes. The last time I went in for my cleaning and they told me the dentist was sick. Again. I asked they why I was there at my appointment without the dentist and they told me I didn't need to see her. I have been patient enough. I should have listened to my gut the first time. It's a pretty place but terribly inconsistent and not worth it. read more

I have had one of my wisdom teeth breaking down, but only occasionally painful for the last several years. My case was urgent but not emergent. I got scheduled for an appointment within a few days. The office is welcoming and friendly, and for my 2 appointments, they got me in right on time. I know that my dental problems are my own fault, but they are sooooo non-judgemental, which I appreciate. Today I had the wisdom tooth extracted and it was as pleasant as it possibly could have been. I opted for the nitrous oxide and I'm so glad I did. Dr. Shahgaldi also listened to me telling her about having to have extra anesthesia in the past and made doubly sure that I couldn't feel anything. I didn't even know that the tooth was out until she told me it was out. The only blip in the process was the fact that one of the roots didn't come out with the rest of the tooth, but she got it out and then cleaned out the infection that had developed. I have a bunch more dental work to get myself back on track, but I feel like I'm in the right place. read more

Omg. Let me tell you how much I LOVE my new dentist. To start, I have had terrible experiences with dentists as an adult that turned into some serious dental anxiety. I went to a new dentist today thanks to my new insurance. I have never had a better experience. My hygienist Stephanie works really well with anxiety patients. She talked me through EVERYTHING. Showed me every X-ray and picture. I've seriously never had a more through cleaning or explanation. They strongly focus on preventative measures, so I am feeling better equipped. They offer a couple different methods of sedation for any procedures to help with the anxiety (also I am really hard to numb, I've never had a filling where I didn't feel the drill). I've never felt more heard or supported by a dentist before and I am feeling incredibly grateful that I found this place. read more

I made appointments for my kids three weeks ago, showed up 10 minutes early and then waited with them in the waiting room for 40 minutes while three people who came after us were taken back for appointments. I decided to give up waiting and find another dentist. Something to consider for anyone sensitive to air fresheners: They use a terribly strong vanilla-scented one that clung to our clothes and hair even after we left. After two cleanings and a new crown at Serene Dental I'm starting to soften on my fear to see the dentist. They work very gently (as far dental work goes) and inform you about the steps they will take and what to expect. I'm used to be in pain even after a procedure and I can say that the crown work was without any after pain at all. I've been going to Serene Dental for 4 or 5 years, initially because it was in my neighborhood. I've since moved across town but continue to travel here due to the high degree of professionalism and care I have received. Hygienist Stephanie is the most expert and caring hygienist I've ever come into contact with. I visit several times a year due to gum issues, and she has always been gentle yet honest with me about our work together. The dentist lied right to my face, telling me my daughter had a filling in one of her front teeth, when she didn't. I could see plainly on the X-ray that there was no filling there. When I said there was no filling there, the dentist told me that if I didn't believe her I could find another dentist and then proceeded to THROW MY DAUGHTER AND I OUT. No, I'm not kidding. With a great big gesture of her arm and a loud voice (in front of other patients), she said we could "get out". All because she made a mistake and I called her out on it. Totally bizarre experience. The entire staff was so professional adding in a clean and welcoming atmosphere, I was instantly at ease. I was looking for a new dentist and bought a groupon for Serene Dental and got x-rays, exam, and cleaning for $79, which was too high a price for the "service" I received. After the initial cleaning, I went back again for deep cleaning. The hygienist proceeded to poke me directly in the lip with the novocaine needle. Turns out this person was actually doing a live "interview", which means they were considering her for employment. No one checked her work. I didn't appreciate being treated like a guinea pig and let them know. Then, I needed a crown replaced. The first appointment to make the temporary crown, they checked my gum pockets to see how the deep cleaning worked, which took about half an hour. Then the work on the crown began. An hour later, my jaw muscles went into spasm. The dentist kept telling me it would only be a minute...but 15 minutes later, I couldn't take the pain and I told her that. I was told that most people don't have a problem with keeping their mouth open for a temp crown to be made. What they seemed to forget was that I had my jaw open for a half hour before the crown procedure even started. I really got the feeling that I was being a big bother. When the perm crown came in, she inserted it and told me to bite down. I bit down and the crown shattered in my mouth. As I was removing the shards from my mouth, she told me - no problem - they could glue it back together. I asked them instead to order a new crown. She was obviously annoyed. Fast forward a couple weeks, and she inserted the second perm crown, and once again, it cracked. Clearly the lab she uses is not up to par. She said she could contact the lab and have it repaired in a couple hours. I told her to please order a new perm crown and to put on another temp crown as I would be seeing another dentist in the future. She seemed totally shocked that I would want to see another dentist and in a letter, stated that I had 14 days to come back to her if I had a problem with the temp crown, but after that time, their services would no longer be available to me. Nice touch. I've never, ever had an experience like this with any dentist before. My recommendation is to avoid this place at all costs. read more

I had the prettiest smile for my wedding! Dr. Shahgaldi is wonderful and an artist. As a child a dentist used composite to increase the size of my peg laterals to fill gaps. I neglected to have them fixed as I grew older. They were yellow and had dark yellow gaps below the gums after they receded. She spent over two hours chipping away and cleaning them in preparation. It was hard work. I avoided doing this for years out of fear of pain. Dr. Shahgaldi was calm, gentle as she could be, and explained everything so well. I experienced very little pain. She placed temporary crowns and I went to the lab myself to have my permanent crowns matched in color. She put my permanent crowns on two weeks later and added more composite to the side of a tooth next to it to minimize the gap. I feel so much more confident with my smile. I was happy to avoid braces. I also really love my hygienist Stephanie. She is very efficient and gentle. They have also helped me with my grinding by giving me regular updates on my damage and I have a grind guard now. My teeth were a mess before Serene. They are a great team of professionals. I couldn't be happier. My husband loves them too. read more

I don't love going to the dentist, but the friendly staff at Serene helped to make it as enjoyable of a process as possible. They seemed to have up to date equipment, and good conservative practices, not just looking to fill and drill.
