I am writing this review with deep disappointment and disgust regarding my experience at Serendipity Salon. While I was at my appointment with my children, a hairdresser moved my child away from my eye sight without my permission so she could place her two clients together. Once together, the stylist and her clients began using racial slurs and hateful looks towards my children, a staff member and another young client. My children were well behaved, respectful, and not disruptive in any way. What made the situation even more upsetting is that multiple adults, staff and clients who heard the conversation visibly looked uncomfortable. It is clear that others recognized how inappropriate and offensive the behavior was. Additionally on several occasions I had noticed the front desk to be kept unorganized and dirty, and the owner in attire that was inappropriate and overly revealing for a professional salon environment. This is only added to the overall sense of disregard for professionalism and proper adult conduct. The only reason I had continued my visits to the salon and never again will ever bring my children to that salon was because my hairstylist was truly amazing. She consistently did an exceptional job, was professional, skilled, and always made me and my family feel comfortable. My positive experiences were solely due to her talent and care, not ever by management or owners at Serendipity. Racial slurs directed at children, lack of respect for parents and unprofessional behavior, should never be tolerated. As such I will never be a client of Serendipity again, and I hope all of those who share my values will think twice before supporting business like this in our community. read more

The owner seems to be off her rocker. She was witnessed screaming at a stylist. She was being incredibly unprofessional. When someone has trouble with a person in their employ you take it in the back, quietly. It was so uncomfortable why would anyone subject themselves to that environment? Besides their best stylist isn't there any more. read more

I met the stylist, Kari Hagar, for the first time at my scheduled appointment. We discussed my desires, , and she suggested to cover some of my gray and do highlights. I Also got a cut. I was so unsatisfied with the highlights and cut after spending $232, with tip. When I retuned to the salon to discuss a solution and possible reimbursement for an unsatisfactory job, Keri was very defensive and not once offered an apology and sorry that I was not satisfied with results. She was very unprofessional in handling the whole incident! The most disturbing thing was she would not let me explain my point. I am attaching a photo of bad highlight job. read more

What an amazong salon! Ive had Danielle and Jodi do my hair several times and it always turns out fantastic! Its always difficult to find someone who can work with thick, thigh length, curly hair and they are so skilled at working with my headful of hair. Salon is extremely clean and professional. I went online to make an appointment with Lucky Devil barber. The site brought me to Serendipity, and I thought I had done something wrong, so I exited out of the whole thing and tried again. It brought me right back to Serendipity, so I thought perhaps this is the company they used to make appointments. I clicked on a person for a haircut for my son. It asked for my credit card number to hold the appointment. Ok, so I paid for the haircut. The day of the appointment, we arrived and the person at Lucky Devil said "let me see your confirmation text". I showed it to him and he said "your appointment is next door with Serendipity; our sister store. OK, so we go next door and I tell the receptionist that we are there. The stylist asks me what kind of haircut I wanted for him and I said your basic boy cut. When she was all through, she asked me to come over and see if it was ok. I asked her to make it shorter and her response was "if you wanted it shorter, you should have made an appointment next door at the barber. I told her that's what I thought I did. She said they were having problems with their online software. I told her that it was fine. She came back up to me and said there was a barber available to finish his haircut. I told her not to bother. Then I approach who I think might be the owner or manager and I said I paid up front, so we're ok to go, right? She said not necessarily and checked and said it wasn't paid. I will not EVER return to this cluster crap mess. If you know there are problems, how about FIXING them, so as not to piss off a customer? Just a thought. Additionally, the person who told me I was in the wrong place should have made additional inquiries when I said that I had an appointment at the barber shop. Never, ever again. read more

I have a friend who always looks great. I asked who cuts her hair and she named a lady at Serendipity. I looked them up and saw great reviews. I went on their website and had to wait 2 weeks for an appointment. I booked it, filled in all kinds of information got a confirmation and wrote it on my calendar. Today I showed up and a young man came over and greeted me and asked what I wanted I said my name and that I had an appointment. He said I was not in the system and I should not have been able to book because they are all booked up. I explained that I booked two weeks ago. He said I didn't have an appointment. Needless to say I was disappointed. But I do know that occasionally there are glitches in systems and usually I try to make those kinds of appointments by phone. Apparently they really don't need any business because there was no attempt to apologize, because it was not their fault.in his eyes. There was no absolutely no attempt to get me to book a future appointment, or ask me to please come another day. There was no discussion about what could have gone wrong. Obviously they are so busy that they don't need the business, or new customers. If you want to use this salon, don't count on the on line booking. I'm still looking for a new salon! read more

AWFUL.... Danielle was super sweet totally over charged me....... Left the past 2 times w out a blow dry because she likes to do more talking than working and after being there for almost 3 hours, I need to leave to get to my kids but I was trying to be the adult and go into the salon, and then not only the front desk went to go get a manager, but she was super inappropriate telling me I need to leave and would not listen to the the salon ........ I had my son with me the whole time & I was being told to leave, because they knew they were wrong ..... not even a manager that's the way to run a salon ?? but know one could explain why 1//2 shitty highlights were done &160 texted the girl that did my hair and she never responded and now I'm held responsible for still complaining over a month???..... so inappropriate especially for a manager to come out the way she came out not handling anything just being a straight up bitch not helpful not anything that's the thing about I was just asking for answers, but obviously the Salon cares more about their money and ripping ifi people off than the service that they do so good luck with this place. read more

I went to visit Danielle 2 weeks before my wedding. She ensured me she could bleach my roots to match my platinum hair and fix it up. She ended up frying my hair off. She put Bleach on my scalp and heat which is a big no no and WALKED AWAY and left and returned too late and most of the left side of my hair had been FRIED and fell out in the washing. Since then the REST of my hair has BEEN BREAKING AND FALLING OUT! From her carelessness!! She RUINED MY HAIR right before my wedding! Now at 20 I only have 1/5 of my hair left when my HAIR WAS THICK AND LONG! read more

After a dye job gone wrong at another salon, I was in search of a solution. I found this salon through Facebook. It was about 9pm and decided to send a DM, since according to Facebook, they respond quickly. They weren't kidding! The owner responded minutes after I sent the first message. I explained my situation and even sent pictures. She reassured me that it could be fixed and we set up a consultation for the next day. The owner introduced me to Rachael and they discussed a solution. They were very open with explaining their plan of action to me. Which helped with the anxiety that was already established. The entire team made me feel so comfortable! Crystal even stopped by to inform me about dermalogica. She had seen that I entered into one of their raffles on Facebook. Crystal gave me a few examples to try since my pregnancy hormones were impacting my complexion with acne. Once Rachael was finished, my hair was amazing! She preformed a self esteem miracle. You can barely see any remains of the haphazard dye job. My hair still feels health too! Not only am I one happy customer, they made me into a forever client. I highly recommend them! I am new to area so looked up top hair salons in Merritt Island. I found Serendipity was a 5 star rating.I made an appointment and they got me in within an hour. My stylist Kim had to perform a miracle because of my bad dye job out of a box(never again)I was there from 10:30 am until 5 pm.She had to strip all of the color out of my hair it was red and I wanted to go a light blonde.What an AWESOME job she did!!! And the very first time I ever got a cut I wanted, it was perfect. She then spent the extra time showing me how to style it myself and what products to use.You are an exceptional stylist Kim.I will never see anyone else. read more

Please stay far away from this salon. From the very first contact on the phone, the male receptionist was so persnickety and rude for no reason at all. It made me feel like I was bothering him to even call. The service I received was subpar at best and not worth what I paid. They sold me on a masque exclusively sold at this salon. The owner was raving about this product so I without question paid the $34 price tags. Unfortunately, the product was also subpar so I reached out to them to see if a refund was possible. Once again the male receptionist was beyond rude and proceeded to laugh at me on the phone when I told him I was not satisfied with the product. He then told me to return it but in such an aggressive tone. When I arrive to the salon to return the product, I was treated with such disrespect from both the receptionist and the owner. I left with tears in my eyes on how cruel they went out of their way to be. I will never step foot again in this establishment.
