Dr Cox explained what this procedure entailed and respected my concerns. The surgery was an outpatient procedure and went home the same day. It's been a year now and I am totally satisfied with Dr Cox's work. Of course the Reverse revision is just that, reverse and it has its limitations. After doing some research on Advanced Orthopedic Specialist and discovering that they work with the Arkansas Razorbacks I thought this has got to be the place. I called on the day after I left from Ozark Orthopedic and instantly was scheduled an appointment for 8:50am that morning. When I arrived the building was new-ish and the staff welcomed me and treated me as a patient and not a number. I met with Dr. Yakin he asked me some medical questions examined my leg and did some basic medical checks, he listed to my heart and lungs. He told me what procedures that he would be doing. I was really impressed with what he thought would be the best way to fix my broken Fibula and separated ankle. After the visit we went to the Patient Advocate who was 100x that of the one at Ozark Orthopedic. She looked up what procedures Dr. Yakin would be doing and told us an amount. They scheduled me for the following Tuesday... On the day of my surgery which was scheduled for 8:50am I received a call from someone about 7:00am asking me if I was on my way. I told the lady over the phone that my appointment was at 8:50am and will be there a that time. My surgery was held at Northwest Surgery across the road (it used to be Physicians' Specialty Hospital) Everything was so rushed when I got to the front desk. On my way back to be prepped for surgery everything was good. Dr. Yakin with Advanced Orthopedic Specialist came in and asked me how I was. He asked me for my cell number so he can call me afterwards to see how I was holding up. The lady that prepped my leg started shaving my right leg with this thing the medical field calls an electric razor (more like a pissed off cat scraping your hair off.) then the Anesthesiologist came in he greeted himself and said today we're operating on your left ankle is that correct? I said no it's my right ankle. Ha. I went into surgery and was in recovery for what seemed to be 10 minutes and I felt so rushed to get me out of there. Now I'm in the recovery stage which is very great! I can't wait to get back to my active lifestyle!

I went to this doctor about 17 years ago with knee swelling. He took X-rays and said I had an…read moreastounding loss of cartilage for a woman my age --then mid 40s. He knew: 1) that my right patella had twice been dislocated and 2) that I had audible crepitus in both knees in my teens. Recently, my usual guy took X-rays. Turns out the joint space between my femur and tibia is picture perfect (could Hanby have maybe told me that?). The problem is that my patella are located an inch too high and an inch laterally (I knew this but the Xrays were almost comical). This confirmed what I always suspected even as early as 15 yo with no medical degree. I was born with the patella in the wrong place and it causes cartilage loss at the patella at a young age. The X ray is self explanatory and it should have been no surprise that I had this loss at mid 40s, and probably much earlier. Plus he has me worried for most of 2 decades that I had joint damage I don't have. Also told me not to gain weight. Ridiculous, the whole experience. Or maybe he was looking at someone else's X-rays.

I called and asked to speak with the manager, but it went to voicemail. I left a message, but she never called back. I then went to Yelp and looked at the reviews.
