Having recently heard the news about the closure, I would like to recall the good and mostly the bad. Sequoia Brewing was best for the affordable drinks and not for any food items. Drinks were always made strong and the servers were pleasant although the food always took forever to come out. The food always tasted frozen and oily. The health score should have deterred us and we were always met with sticky tables and glasses. *Three Rivers Mojito: could have used more mint but boy was the rum pour heavy. The lime taste was strong and I would have like more strawberry puree. *Pretty In Pink: fruity and sour with a strong alcoholic finish. I wanted more of a elderflower and hibiscus flavor but the prominent raspberry taste was still good. *Watermelon Vodka: slightly artificial but wow was the vodka heavy. Despite ordering this during happy hour, the pour was generous and the glass was massive. *Fried Pickles: the batter was incredibly thick and it wasn't cooked through. I literally had to peel off the doughy exterior to enjoy the classic pickle. This item needed more time in the fryer and the batter recipe should be revised. *Potstickers: the only decent food item. This was most likely frozen given the perfectly identical creases but it was steamed properly. The dipping sauce was flavorful and vinegary. *Fish and Chips: suffered from the same thick and flavorless batter. The fries were alright, salty and crispy. The cod was tough and rubbery. I mostly ate the fries with the tartar sauce and ranch and left the fish alone. Sequoia Brewing, your cheap drinks will be missed but pretty much nothing else. read more

The moment we dined in, it looked like place was quite hectic. We were seated right away by host, however it took more than 20 minutes to get our ordered placed. The chicken pesto we ordered was quickly served after. As for the meal review, sauce was quite salty and chicken texture was hard. I understand it was chicken breast but it was not like usual taste. My husband and I stopped by here after getting a tattoo nearby. The ambience is pretty casual and we were seated quickly. My husband ordered a Grizzly Mule and I ordered a flight--the drinks were amazing but we both felt the mule was a bit overpriced. The flight was a great price and tasted amazing. My husband ordered the chicken quesadilla and mussel appetizer and thought both were scrumptious. I ordered the Cobb salad and slider with fries special for happy hour. The Cobb salad was insanely good--super fresh and delicious. The sliders and fries weren't anything special but tasty nonetheless. Passing through Visalia and decided to stop by here for lunch. Great area! Got a flight to test out their beers. The beers in the flight was just okay. Sequoia falls IPA (3): smooth. Okay flavor. Standard. Hop fest (3): bitter finish. Not much body. Jackass meadows ipa (3): super strong. You can taste the alcohol. Blood orange pale (4): good hints of blood orange. Somewhat refreshing. I wanted to get a pint of their General Sherman IPA but they were out, so our waitress recommended the West Coast Stunner DIPA and it was fantastic! This beer saved my beer expectations. West coast stunner DIPA (5): good body. great flavor. Excellent DIPA! For food, we shared the following: The Big Stump burger (3): It's a good burger. But if you compare with the gourmet burgers at the same price its just average. I liked that they toasted the bun. The garlic fries we got with it was good and crispy. The Big 5 Pizza (4.5): This was good! Super crispy crust. Nice and thin. Quality toppings. Their pizza's are probably where its at here. Sequoia Side Salad (3.5): We just got back from a week in the forest so this was refreshing but I don't think it was anything super spectacular. Still a good compliment though. My attempt to eat at every restaurant on Main Street continues. Another very nice local pub. Too bad it's lunch time I cannot try their extensive beer collection. Came here with a group of 7 around 8pm and we were seated immediately. Our waitress was super friendly! She was consistently refilling waters and checking on us which was nice! I personally didn't order any drinks so I can really only speak on their food. I got their spicy chicken sandwich with a side of fries and it was pretty dang good. No complains. Solid chicken sammy!!! My favorite type of fry are the mcdonald's skinny type of fry and this place does exactly that! They were crisp and perfectly salted. I really enjoyed it! read more

I am writing this review on day 5 of our vacation in Cali. We yelped this place on day 1 and we are still talking about this place. We loved this place. This is a cute spot with a cool vibe. Gilbert was awesome! Friendly, personable and attentive. Food came out quick and we loved every bite!!! Beer was good and two of us ordered a Moscow Mule. Gilbert advised the Ginger Beer was home made in house. It was so good!! I wish I got another one. This had been by far the most frustrating experience dinning out all year, and my family and I have been eating out A LOT because our first floor and kitchen has been been under construction for 5 months. So us eating out everyday is fair to say. It pains me to give this place one star because I loved it here and I love their Fresno location, and I RARELY give one start reviews. First we get there and are seated, took a little while to get our drink order but it wasn't crazy long that it was annoying, just something we noticed. We get our drinks and we only get half our drinks but one of my daughters drink is in a kids cup with a lid and the other is in a mug, but our waitress leaves to go take the other table's order. That should have been a sign that we should have left because our waitress was overworked and overwhelmed. She comes to take our order and disappear for 30 minutes and brings us our utensils and napkins, and we think we are getting our food soon, we do not for another 30 minutes. Mind you our kids are crying and it's almost 8 pm. We got there at 6:50 and I know this because at 7:57 we check our car dash cam to see when we got there. Our kids are crying 3 different times because they are hungry and the phone stopped distracting them. Another waitress came and informed us that our food was next and I realized they haven't made our food yet and we asked for the check, and the hosted told us it's coming and he saw my pasta. Next someone who I think is the manger tries to tell us something, but at the same time BOTH our kids are crying and I stopped him mid sentence and say both kids are crying and I'm about to cry, I just want the check and he said okay. Our waitress apologies and tells us it's been like this all night and she offered to pack the kids food for us because she definitely was feeling sorry for us because both kids are still crying. We declined and thanked her and assured her it was not her fault. I think experience was bad because the kids were crying and hungry and and the restaurant was obviously overwhelmed and couldn't handle the amount of people there. It's also our kids school night and they are tired and hungry. I really wished they would have let us know that the kitchen was backed up so we could have decided on another option or stayed since we had young kids 6 and 4 years old. NOT THE BEER CHEESE!! I love this place primarily for their Pretzel and Beer cheese. The beers are good, the menu isn't cheap. But the food is quality. I'd recommend Fried pickles , wings, steak Bites, burgers are all great options. SADLY recently the Beer cheese has turned into a CHUNKY thick Taco Bell style nacho cheese. Three campers stopped at Sequoia Brewing in Visalia during the drive home from Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks on June 3rd. The running water in the bathroom was well appreciated. The campers ordered three beers and the Gilroy pizza (chicken, feta, tomato, artichoke hearts). They rotated the three beers until each guest tried a sip of each beer and concluded all three beers were excellent! Then the plates arrived, one dirty with food residue. While the campers did not expect to have cleaner dishes at their campsite than at a restaurant with running water, they understood that sometimes automatic dishwashers don't get all food residue off 100% of the time, and sometimes waiters forget to visually inspect the plates they serve for foreign object debris. Next, the pizza arrived with chicken, feta, tomato, and mushrooms?! Now the campers specifically choose the Gilroy pizza for the artichoke hearts and avoided the Flame Grilled Pesto Pizza due to its mushrooms. Immediately upon serving the pie, one camper asked if the right pizza arrived. The half-conscious waiter lied, assuring the correct pizza was served. However, the campers were hungry and in a hurry to drive back home. Nevertheless one reviewed the menu and confirmed that the pizza order is wrong due to the mushroom for artichoke heart switcharoo. This camper told the waiter, who then kindly offered to make the correct pie to remedy the situation, without apologizing for gaslighting the campers earlier while displaying a total lack of awareness for the toppings on the Gilroy pizza. The campers politely declined due to the time required to bake another pizza, with a desire to arrive home quickly, and ate the pizza that was served. Normally, a waiter with a shred of emotional intelligence would offer a free dessert or waive the cost of one of the three beers the campers ordered to remedy the dishonesty, disgusting dishes, and disorganized delivery of delicious, but different than desired, edibles. Instead, the campers paid their full tab and generously compensated the waiter with an industry standard gratuity. The quality of the pizza was delicious: both the toppings and the crust. The owners and brewmasters did an excellent job providing delicious nourishments and liquids while the manager is failing them by not holding the staff accountable to the very basics: clean dishes and correct food orders. The campers had a simple order without substitutions, meaning only the most incompetent staff could find a way to screw it up. Five stars for taste but the service downgrades this review to four. Update (to the owner who replied) why would I go back when you haven't offered any remedy? read more

I'm old school clear IPA and they had a couple of great ones. The food was far beyond my expectations. Great garlic fries and a chicken breast sando that featured the best bun I'd ever had. We stopped in at Sequoia Brewing on our trip to the national park for a quick bite. The drinks were pretty good, but the food was what made this a 2-star rating. We started with their "famous" fried pickles, which started off decent but found some of them cold and the fried batter was raw on some of them... my boyfriend ordered a quesadilla which he said was okay, but I ordered the veggie sandwich. Granted this is a brewery I really wasn't expecting much from a $14 veggie sandwich. This was by far the worst sandwich I've had... there was no sauce or anything with flavor; it had 1 single piece of lettuce, 1 slice of tomato, tons of cucumber slices, huge chunky slices of raw red onion, and avocado (the redeeming quality). Everything was stacked in one spot on the bread making it very difficult to eat, I had to take apart the sandwich and remake it to make it easier to eat. Came to Sequoia Brewing today and I have to say it's a lot better than planning mill the burgers are always great doesn't matter which burger you get they're all really good. The chili beans are really good too and today I had the pizza for the first time and the pizza tasted great and it was half the price of what I spend at planning mill. The service is a lot better you got more workers asking you if everything's OK and if it's not, they will make it right no questions asked. The guy working the bar was John very nice and courteous Very helpful. The waitress Eryka was also very helpful too. Hands down The BEST spot in Visalia for SOUP!!!!! My wife and I are regulars now since we go there atleast once a week. Haily the manager is simply amazing. She's super friendly every time and always delivers a smile and warm hello to us when we stop by for lunch. Like I mentioned before, the soup is simply delicious. They change it everyday but 99.9% of the time it's yummy. We also get the Garlic Pesto Chicken pizza with added mushrooms which to me is my favorite pizza in the Central Valley. Very flavorful and full of toppings and mushrooms with just the right amount of crunch. It's Bomb!!!!!! Anyway, if you every find yourself in Downtown Visalia, check them out. I'm not even a fan of those things but it was tasty. The sauce it was in was flavorful. The calamari is always a must if I see it on any menu. It's okay so if calamari is your thing. Skip it. It won't blow you away. There was a dish that was a pasta but it was spicy! So we traded it for a chicken parm instead. The yeti burger is that ginormous burger with Pattie's, ham, bacon and an egg! We didn't do the challenge where If you eat in in 5 mins it's free. We literally just wanted to try it cuz it looked good and MAN that thang was good! My last visit recently I just got a burger and it didn't disappoint except for the appetizers that was supposed to be potato skins and I though were loaded potatoes but it was just loaded fries which weren't even that great and was like $15 bucks so I left not satisfied and felt I over spent that day. We stopped we Sequoia Brewing while we were in town for a conference. My wife tried the bavarian pretzel,and I tried the burger sliders. The sliders were delicious and about $8 on their happy hour menu. My wife tried the pretel and loved it. It came with a beer chese sauce as well as a mustard. The food deals they have for happy hour can't be beat! The beer my wife had was an Irish Stout. My wife is a huge Guinness fan, and she was very fond of this beer. I was driving, so I resorted to soft drinks. We're both looking forward to returning to Sequoia Brewing when we are re-visiting Visalia in September. read more
