Good service but too expensive. Almost 300 bucks to pump out one 500 gallon tank. I should have gotten several quotes. Lesson learned.

In December 2022, we contacted S&A Septic. We needed to add to the septic system 2 tanks and the…read morelateral lines would also need replaced. We were told the project could be started within weeks, all of the newly sodded yard would be restored as it was after the work was complete. Referral to this company was in the best of faith and we placed our trust in them. Weeks turned into months. We washed our clothes at laundry mats, we washed dishes in a large ice chest (water poured out and not into the full system), we took 1/2 showers which is running only enough water to rinse. I contacted S&A asking for help in a pump out, was told he'd get his man on it...never happened and after several follow up contacts I found my own guy to pump it. The back and fourth excuse of a start up lasted 4 months of our living this way until a new excuse came that they were under staffed in help, which we could understand because "some truth" makes sense. Work began, 4 months later in the middle of April 2023. The $260 a pallet Tiff sod was not replaced, it was plowed up with a skid steer and piled up in a heap in the driveway and was not restored which amounted to at least 3 pallet loads. The dirt was replaced with loads of cushion sand in which we were charged in excess for in an additional load unused. The dirt that was removed was charged in haul offs, 3 loads that could have been used to replace the 2 foot sunken settlement around the tanks. It remains this way. The excavator operator destroyed the new steel edgings by rolling back and forth over them in the machine instead of pulling them up prior to work. USE THIS COMPANY AT YOUR OWN RISK, there are no guarantees with them when their words contains no truths.

We've had unreliable services for the past two years since starting service with them. Everyone we…read morespoke with was very polite however, nothing changed with addressing our concerns. We were to receive services for our aerobic septic system once every 4 months. Our first visit was on time as scheduled. The second visit they were only a month late. We never called to ask about that since things can happen and they did show up. The third never occurred for 8 months. We didn't think about it until the 8th month and had to call them. They had to extend our service. Every visit after that required a reminder phone call due to it being one to two months overdue. Now we're paying attention and there's no chance of us missing a visit since we have security camera's around our home. Our last contact with Garrett Aerobics Septic Systems was to notify them of another late service and that we would not be renewing our contract with them due to the unreliable service. My wife spoke with Brenda, the Operations Manager, who sent someone out to take care of the late service. Both Brenda and the technician were polite however, the technician didn't have chlorine tabs, which we were paying an extra $75 per year to have completed with each visit. He ended up using some that we had on hand and also stated he had some other customers after us. I hope they weren't paying for that additional service as well. My wife called back to let Brenda know the technician didn't have chlorine tabs and had to use ours. She stated they would extend our service which included one more visit. That extra visit never happened. Due to the unreliability of this company, it does raise the question whether we ever received chlorine tabs during the time they were servicing our septic system or how many services might not have been completed if we weren't monitoring.

Over the course…read moreof living here for just over a year now, we've had to have them out here at least 5 times for different issues. I've never lived in a house with septic so I did not understand until now that this is NOT normal. At one point I asked if there was something we were doing wrong or if there's certain maintenance/care things we need to do to avoid having them come out so much. I was given a very unhelpful response by the office woman to not use our garbage disposal. The last straw came this week. We had a new pump put in by Garrett in May. When we had another company out here earlier this week to pump the tank, he said that the pump on the system was overheating. So we got Garrett back out here, and they replaced the faulty pump because it was still under warranty but then called us to charge us for the labor!!! So we had to pay $300 for them to replace a faulty pump that they put in. It's not our fault that they put in a defective pump, so why should I have to pay for the labor? Will never use this company again.

After working with Ledford for a little over a year, I can…read moreconfidently say their office lacks knowledge, communication, and transparency with their clients. It took nearly four months just to get someone to our property after receiving a newly engineered plan for our septic lines. Despite multiple promises of return calls from Kim and another office staff member, we were constantly met with silence and delays. I finally had to become more assertive just to get a response and schedule service. When the crew arrived, they mentioned that our irrigation lines could be damaged during the job but claimed they would do their best to avoid it. Unfortunately, I watched them drill across our entire 0.7 acre lot without marking anything beforehand. They later flagged three damaged irrigation lines, but when inspected and repaired, there were actually over six cuts, along with electrical wiring damage. Now we are left with an unfinished job and nothing but excuses and back and forth communication from Josh, Kim, and their customer service team. To top it off, the third party contractor they hired kicked empty water bottles into the open trenches, and I had to go outside and ask him to clean up his own trash. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration. Find a company that values professionalism, communication, and respect for their customers. Ledford is not it.

Initially there were some communication issues as we tried to get resolution, but once we worked through them, Ledford came through with flying colors! They were professional, efficient, friendly and knowledgeable, and Ledford is blessed to have them on the team.
