I had one of the worst customer service experiences of my life at this salon. The elderly woman who…read moreruns it urgently needs training in basic communication and professionalism. I called her yesterday to book a haircut appointment for 5 PM. She asked me to message her, so I did -- confirming the date, time, and service. She replied "okay." Just before leaving home, I even called her again to double-confirm that I was coming at 5 PM for a haircut, and again, she said "okay." I arrived on time, only to find three people waiting and one client in the chair. I told her I had a 5 PM appointment, and her response was, "Who did you book with?" When I said it was my first time there and I had spoken to her directly, she burst out laughing in my face. In front of several people. Then she flatly said, "I can't take you today." I asked if there was anyone else who could take me -- she said no, she's the only one. So then why ask me who I booked with? I was made to feel like a complete fool, standing at the door while others watched uncomfortably as I was dismissed, as if it were my fault for trusting her word. When I calmly asked why she double-booked me, she responded with, "What you gonna do, kill me?" Let that sink in. That's how a paying customer was spoken to -- after clearly booking, confirming, and showing up on time. I left humiliated and angry. She wasted my time and treated me with shocking rudeness and zero accountability. This wasn't just bad service -- it was unprofessional, dismissive, and verbally aggressive. I'm reporting this incident to the Better Business Bureau and considering filing a complaint with the local consumer protection agency for denying agreed-upon service and for public mistreatment bordering on harassment. Avoid this place if you value your time, dignity, or basic human decency.

Yes, I was right to be worried. My hair was washed pretty quickly and I showed her the hairstyle that I wanted. There wasn't much conversation, which was fine. However, while she was cutting my hair, a regular person came in and the person who was working with my hair dropped everything to greet her and told someone else to deal with me. I wasn't sure if this was normal and she was pretty much done, so I just let it be. Then a male came and finished blow drying and cutting my hair. While the end result of my hair was something that I could live with, it's not something I necessarily wanted as she/he cut it a bit too short. I know that hair grows back, but I couldn't help but feel dismissed during my visit. Generally, as I don't know Virginia well, I use Groupon to see which hair salons would treat me well while keeping it low stakes. However, since I wasn't happy with my end result nor was I happy with being dismissed, I do not wish to come back.
