If there's one thing I hate, is when you walk into a store and someone needs to help you (by pushing you into getting their help, or 1,000 different recommendations and unwanted opinions). That was not the case at this Sephora. For lipsticks, lip liners, eye liners, mascara, etc., I don't really ever care too much about going in store - since for the most, if I don't like it, I can return it, especially with many brands that I love. Being that I had a Sephora credit to use and had been on a lip liner hunt, I finally was able to get myself into a Sephora in a non forced, super casual, way. Just what I wanted. As soon as I walked in, I was able to stroll around the store and make my way around without being noticed until I was ready to ask for some help. That's when I found Olivia, she was so awesome, chill and helpful. Without being too much, she helped me pick out my lip liner of my dreams without being so pushy and was so nice. I have never felt so unwelcome and utterly really terrible walking into a Sephora. When I walked in me and my friends did some tester makeup because we had an event coming up. When put perfume on the table to test it, the lady said " pick it up it's glass". And they had 2 employees watching us the whole time. My friend also overheard one of them ladies say something about stealing to the other employee. We sat down in tester table to rest and put some tester makeup on and a fair skinned blonde lady (Hispanic probably ) said " this is appointment table only, get up This is appointment table only." With out saying sorry . We were sitting just being regular customers and they decided to call us out by telling us to move. A lady previously left the store and the worker said " goodbye, have a nice day" and she was lighter tone. Once we left, they didn't say anything at all. This incident made me and my friends very unhappy and unwelcome. This may be over exaggerated, but me and my friends feel strongly about this and we wish that people check reviews before they walk in. read more

I should point out that I'm a straight male who has been here a few times before, but not for me! That being typed, I've come here to shop for gifts or accompanied someone a few times over the years. While I don't know one cosmetic from another, I do see the displays are always clean and presented well. The store is spacious and organized well. The staff has always been friendly, even despite some of the strange customers that shop here - that matters very much in this retail day and age and is becoming more and more rare with a lot of businesses. Strangely there is a weird cleaning lady that I've seen several times here who just stares. I really don't think she should be "cleaning" during business hours, because she is enough of a detriment to scare people off. Located on the 1st floor of the Palisades Mall. Worst experience today at this Sephora! I went in today( 4/13) to find out if they have the SK-II set I can get with my points. There is a long line by the register and I don't want to just go up to the cashiers because they are working, but also I feel like there is no point for me to wait in line also since it is just a question and we have other things to do. So I saw this lady who wears glasses( not sure her name, this is all I remember) coming out of behind the register, so I asked if they have any. This lady said: YOU HAVE TO WAIT IN LINE TO ASK, I CAN'T GO BACK THERE" (BUT I SAW YOU COMING OUT BEHIND THE REGISTER THO??" She also said it in such a rude tone. After this, she just went to the front door and standing there. Being a rouge member for over 4 years I never experience anything like this and I am very disappointed at her attitude. please train your employees. read more

There's a pretty wide selection of brands and makeup here, which is why it gets two stars instead of one. The people who work here are on the whole, with maybe a few exceptions, look miserable, or otherwise refuse to stop gossiping with each other and actually help you find something. "Welcome to Sephora. Is there anything you're looking for?" seems to take way too much energy and effort. I've had one salesperson accuse me of trying to shoplift a bottle of Philosophy bath gel (I'm looking at you, middle-aged woman with the blonde hair and glasses). I've had another stomp on my foot while trying to arrange the Justin Bieber Someday sign without apologizing or even acknowledging my "ow." The one who takes the cake is a girl who literally just stood there applying this garish shade of orange lipstick while I kept asking what a good brand of mascara is. I love this store. I bought urban decay space cowboy eyeshadow and it was 21.00! It was so sparkly it was pretty too. In the sun it was shining in the sunlight. I have a Sephora card. I told the lady which color it was I told her space cowboy and she looked in to see if it was in stock and then I got it. Then I went up to the front of the store and paid also I got a card from there to save now I have 21 points on it. They have samples if you asked for them like perfume, And skin care. Customer service is TERRIBLE here! TERRIBLE! Noon on a Thursday- not 3 customers in the store and the sales associates are walking around "cleaning" or trying to look busy. I asked one woman for help two times and she said she was assisting someone- who? I have no idea, I didn't see her on the phone or with any one of the people in the store. Another woman was applying makeup and the last continued to disappear into the back whenever it seemed she realized I wanted some assistance. I'm not from around here but needed a new foundation since my nephew dropped mine. I walk in and see a bunch of employees that couldn't even greet me. I asked for a foundation they told me to go order at the register as opposed to trying to help me themselves or finding another option for me. I took up one myself to find another option and when I ask they say we we don't have it when I asked the lady with blonde wig to please not blow me off and at least take the initiative to take a loook or checked the inventory she stayed right where she was standing and said to ask someone near the mars brand. Well, this place is convenient for me since i work in the mall. Love! I've been into other Sephora's before, but was always too intimidated to buy anything. I went into this one today, and all of the workers were so helpful. One of the employees helped me with my brows, while another helped my friend with foundation. Both did an awesome job and knew what they were doing. I ended up purchasing an Anastasia brow wiz and a Makeup Forever HD powder. The store was very clean. They were very professional. I went to go get a concealer with my sister. In every single other Sephora when you ask for a product they will test out which one is your color put putting some on you. We asked this worker with black and red hair for help and she just guessed our colors in left mine is way too light and hers is way to dark. Terrible customer service! One of the employees saw me trying to find a specific product rather than asking if I needed assistance she proceeded to talk to a friend about personal issues. I couldn't find what I wanted so I decided to check if maybe the product was in the bottom shelves... NOW she actually decided to come over to me but not to offer me any help instead to tell me "you can't go through that stuff" and continued to casually talk to her friend. Next it's time for me to pay I had to swipe my card no less than 3 times only to realize I was charged twice when I got home. Never again! Had such a nice experience the other day with one of the associates who took her time and really tried to provide the best service to make me a happy customer. The foundation I was using made me dry so I wanted something new but wouldn't break me out or make me too oily either.
