Idk what happened to this sephora but there used to be beauty advisers that i'd actually want beauty tips from that worked at this location... unfortunately the people that work there now look like they don't comb their hair in the morning before they start their day. Went inside to pick up an online order that was canceled and the big lady that looked dirty told me it was canceled because the item was out of stock. NO it was canceled because i didn't pick it up in time but I knew they still had it locked away, so how did wanna be lizzo tell me it was out of stock before she even moved herself out of the spot she was taking up chit chatting with her coworkers? One of the managers intervened and said it was bad communication on my part, sure. Let's just ignore the fact that they just pull out random excuses out of their asses. Before this lovely encounter I was waiting for a beauty advisor as she was helping a 10 year old girl in the pat mcgarth section... this store is a joke. read more

I went last week to pick up a few items. Most of the shelf's were not stocked , there was about 1 advisor on the floor so no one to help with color matching. Some of the drawers were open so I tried to find the products I was looking for myself. The cash register line was super long with 2 people as cashiers. I went to get my makeup done for a party. I scheduled an appointment at the first time of the day and they were late opening the store. They opened well after 11:05. The beauty advisors were busy taking a class. This meant they weren't ready for my appointment. We didn't start till after 11:15 am when my appointment was scheduled for an hour. I planned my morning to be done in an hour. The look I wanted could have been completely in 45 min max. The lack of professionalism and cutting down my appointment time already got me upset. I asked for a very common look but unfortunately my advisor was nervous and seemed unskilled. I was very nice and gave feedback. The managers were accusing me of being picky and were very confrontational. It was about 12:15 and I needed to leave to go to my event. I left with my makeup unfinished and the manager told me to just leave as if I was causing a scene. It's a shame that I had this experience as I previously had my makeup done with Hailey and it came out really good. I won't be going back even if it is for something simple like picking out some lipgloss. It's definitely a fault on my end to expect service while paying 60$. Went inside with my mom to look for some lipgloss. There were 3 works in front who were chatting and didn't even acknowledge us when we walked in. We found some lip glosses we liked but it looked like they weren't in stock. I tried approaching the 3 chatting workers and got side eyed and dirty looks so I walked away. I had to go to the cash register to ask if anyone could help us. Alyssa helped my mom find the products she needed and was really helpful, shes the only reason I'm not giving 1 star. The whole store is poorly stocked, half the 'try on' makeup is missing and basically every is out of stock. All the makeup on display is crooked and looks messy. On our way out the three workers were still chatting and looked annoyed while we walked by. Used to love coming here but with the poor stocking and rude workers (besides alyssa) Id rather go to Ulta. read more

This place is disgusting. There is trash on the floor, samples are dirty and out of place, drawers half open, and it is a mess. It looks 10x worse than the cosmetics section at your local TJ Maxx. On top of that, the management is horrible. Staff members just talking amongst themselves having unprofessional conversations loudly all over the store. The girl who rang me up yesterday had to stop every second to talk to her friend and she didn't cut it out until I glared at her. OMG. When this store first opened up several years ago I got sooo excited. I am a makeup whore. I love the beauty insider samples and the in-store returns. Such a friendly environment. Last year when I wanted a new perfume scent one associate (a guy) helped me find the perfect one. He was very helpful and attentive. My last trip here I made an exchange and forgot to mention that I am a beauty insider. I happened to be back later that night with my friend and asked how I can get the points to my beauty bank. I like this location during off peak hours. The cosmetologists are extremely knowledge about the products they sell, and do such beautiful work. In my convoluted mind I always thought that stores in NY would be better stocked than their NJ counterparts. I was a little disappointed because this sephora branch was smaller than what I'm use to and they were not as well stocked. They actually didn't have one of the items I was looking for and I knew both items were available in NJ but I came to this branch cause I was tagging along with someone. BOY was my naive thinking completely dashed when I realized that NY stores aren't necessarily better than NJ stores. But anyway...3 lovely stars because there was this darling sales person that knew her stuff!! She made eye contact right away and asked me what I needed. I told her the beauty line and the item I needed and without even a pause, she pointed me to the correct direction and informed me what items of that beauty line they carried in that branch. This place is my go-to when it comes to makeup. Sure, I could go to the neighborhood drugstore, but why when you have a store like this nearby. I've been to many Sephora stores in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Staten Island, and they've all consistently been great. They are always busy yet, I'm almost always approached by a salesperson to see if I need help with anything. Most of the girls are friendly and very helpful. Their products (both Sephora brand and others) are high-quality and never disappoint. I always go in for one or two things and walk out with a whole bag full of makeup. After about 15 years of shopping at Sephora, I can say with certainty I doubt I'll ever go anywhere else to get my makeup. read more

Even though I have a Sephora beauty insider card, I rarely purchase much anymore because of the economy. However, I could not resist stopping in to pick up my free birthday gift. While I was there, I chose my favorite Clinique lipstick and decided to purchase a new Clinique night moisturizer. I actually had time, so I wandered around...browsing. What I noticed was many of the places where the samples were supposed to be were empty -- I would say a good 25%-30%. Had I been serious about sampling some product, I would have had to ask for help. Also, they used to have product stocked right there -- quite a few bins were empty. I do not hold this against them as I understand their rationale during this economy...carry light inventory and it saves in the long run...especially on the trendy stuff you know you will get stuck with. On the other hand, I was asked quite a few times if I needed help and when I got to the counter, I was asked if I found all I was looking for. I also did not have my card on me and the salesperson did not complain when she had to look me up with my email address. My main issue was the samples were not all available..otherwise, I love this store! read more

I'm in Sephora at least once a month buying NARS bronzer (Laguna). Everytime you use your Beauty Insider Card you earn points and once you have a certain number of points you get free gifts at checkout! The cashiers always stick free samples in your bag and everyone in the store is very helpful. I really enjoy shopping here. read more

I was passing down from PA and made a stop the Staten Island mall to do some shopping. And to my surprise I had such a pleasant experience walking in and being greeted multiple times by different employees more than willing to help! I was assisted by this lovely employee named Constantine and he helped shade match me to a foundation and concealer. The line was long but went by quickly as there were 4 registers all accompanied by a person. And needless to say I came in and left with what I was looking for with a smile on my face! This is a decent location considering that it's inside a mall. Yes even the Staten Island mall. It's a pretty decent sized store and it's great to have a option in this mall besides the body shop and bath and body works for beauty supplies. What I love about Sephora is that it has so much stuff at such affordable prices. It makes it affordable for someone who doesn't know about makeup to play around. I bumped into one of my friends and she was getting her makeup done by Melvin. So I was chatting it up with them and decided to start applying my own makeup. Melvin wouldn't have it. The consultants have tried different products on my face and I have left without buying anything. I wasn't given a dirty stare, and I ended up buying the recomended products a month of two later. Its products are well-stocked and displayed and the sales team very helpful with trying new products and making sure you buy the right color for your skin tone. I like having the Beauty Insider card to get free gifts every now and then. I just popped in the other day for a Bare Minerals foundation and some Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue for the summer.I also hear their St Tropez self-tanner is one of the best out there! read more

Came here to pick up my birthday gift. Waited in line for about 20 minutes behind these two delinquents. Only 1 cash register was open, meanwhile another employee was pacing around the OTHER register, pretending not to see me IMPATIENTLY waiting to be attended to. (Very rude!) When it was my turn to step up, I just stated that I'm here for my bday gift. The woman very rudely just handed me the gift, NOT EVEN IN A BAG! I walked out of there literally holding a product in my hand without a bag. Just because I came for my birthday gift, does not make me any less of a valuable customer than the next. I was astonished! And she handed it to be with such a fake, sarcastic smile UGH Another time, I had to return a foundation that was in the wrong color for me, and the women behind the counter was handling it in a very rude manner. No need to roll your eyes! Please teach these young employees to be respectful to each of their customers, no matter what the customer needs. To my surprise the sales associates and Dawn the Manager were the kindness and professional people in the cosmetics industry. Sephora is the greatest! I hope they continue to grow. Remember how you could never, ever return a makeup item, anywhere. That always stopped me from taking chances on new makeup because I got fed up with so many products being useless. Because Sephora has the greatest return policy, I have taken chances buying products that I never would have in the past and I have discovered the best lipsticks, foundations, moisturizers, etc...You can test everything and then go home and order online and you get 3 free samples each time. I am a beauty insider and shop at Sephora mainly for the variety of make up they have, particularly base and foundation make up and for their face creams. Overall, this store has good customer service - specialists are attentive and friendly. HOWEVER, I went in the other day to buy Anthony Eye Cream (LOVE this product)! The price on the shelf was marked at $26. When I was at the register to pay, it rang up as $28. I politely informed the female associate it was $26. She, without a smile, but with an attitude, told me it was placed in the wrong place. I replied with, "then ALL the Anthony eye cream's are placed on the wrong shelf." I think that pissed her off even more b/c she had to have the male security person check the price. Mind you, I wouldn't have made a big thing about it b/c it was ONLY $2 difference, BUT there was no other customer behind me in line and this associate didn't even greet me with a smile or hello upon approaching the register. So the guy checks the price and confirms it's $26. This girl DID NOT apologize, make eye contact, NOTHING with me. I HATE when customer service people are rude, have attitude, and appear to hate their job, especially when products are not cheap!! So much for customer SERVICE!! read more

I love Sephora! I am a VIP Rouge and in the past I have gone to the makeup classes they offer in the store, as well as had my makeup done on many occasions. The store is always well stocked and for being the only Sephora on the island it is mostly very neat and orderly. All the employees are knowledgeable and willing to help, Vanessa who works there is especially talented when it comes to makeup..she is truly an artist. Now my issue here is...the store never seems to have enough employees working at peak times (holiday season, weekends). There is often one associate working the register and it always seems to be the slowest associate at ringing up. There are also very few employees on the floor to assist customers and do makeup for clients. This isn't fair to the employees, the people shopping or the clients getting their makeup done. Another issue is, if you buy something online and pay with PayPal you only get a store credit they can't refund your PayPal account. That isn't specific to this store but Sephora in general. I mean it's 2019 cmon! I love this store and will continue to shop here but I just wish they had more staff. read more
