The snob is real here. Never stole anything from a Sephora in my life, can't say the same for some ppl and some young teens I get it this makeup is expensive as hell, the struggle be real for the good quality stuff but as the respectful non thieving b**tch I am I always stand in that line and pay the insane amount for the beauty products this broke b**tch can't afford. That being said... straight up had the manager get irritable about me opening up the bumbum cream, just trying too see the texture. Hard to believe a cream can firm your booty, I'm skeptical...doesn't make me wanna buy it any less. Wanted to see the magic cellulite killer, wanted to peek the fairy dust for myself. But you can't do that...I get it, the samples are for display only. I missed the memo even tho it was written in big letters on a sign. I promise tho, I'm not an asshole just an idiot. With reopenings after covid and nobody in the store wearing a mask I wasn't paying attention and felt like I was back to the old times, testers and all. But no no no....my blind a** was wrong, the testers are still for display only and best not forget it. This isn't what irritated me, I acknowledge my idiocy and as much as I appreciate a friendly reminder instead of a snap...I get it. It's probably hard having to remind dumba**es like me every five minutes to keep their hands off. I've worked retail jobs and understand that working customer service is a pure destroyer of all faith in humanity. That being said I believe there was a certain type of "cattiness" that was completely undeserved. After being rightfully told I cannot interact with the testers and after realizing because of that I couldn't browse and swatch every color of rare beauty blush on my arm, I decided to just run back to the entrance area to grab a blush I had been looking at previously and then leave. When reaching to grab the blush this person swung their head around the display to make sure I wasn't touching more testers or maybe possibly stealing??? (I'm taking the liberties of assuming this, I can't know for a fact that's what they were thinking, but wtf???) This person went to the entrance after seeing me enter, kept hawk eyes on me the whole time, proceeded to rightfully tell me to keep my compulsive hands off the testers and made sure I wasn't touching others or stealing(I think?). Maybe I am just being the overly sensitive person I acknowledge I sometimes but as soon as I checked out and went to walk out of the store this person, eyes still on me, immediately walked back to their original position by the counter after waving me off. So, when I entered the store they stood guard, kept eyes on me the whole time from the entrance, saw me check out and get ready to head out, then literally left the guard position as they saw me leave. There were teens browsing in there, other people toying with the testers, people walking around, maybe wanting help, the checkout line full. I don't know what it is that made me a target for this??? I didn't even have a bag just a wallet phone case Sometimes being in southern utah I get insecure and wonder if it's being a woman of color that sometimes gets me certain treatment in more expensive establishments but nah, I'm not even gonna go there. I wouldn't want to pin disgusting intentions behind things when I don't know for sure and these overpriced places probably don't discriminate. They're just snobby A**holes to everybody I know Sephora gets a lot of theft I understand, I understand a business having the right to try and make sure their product is protected. This was kind of ridiculous tho. Having experience in southern cal and Vegas I've dealt with theft protection and certain places having security and thats never bothered me, for some bizarre reason I felt singled out More so to the retailer ,Sephora, than the management or employees...don't make your management or employees treat customers in a crap way to prevent theft. The majority of us are here to purchase your products not steal them. You up-charge A LOT more than you need to to make a good sized profit so I know your making a REALLY pretty penny off of us. I'm not sure this is what you guys ask of your employees, but in the event that it is, don't put the pressure on your management or employees to make good paying customers feel uncomfortable, that can't be comfortable for your employees either. Maybe use some of that ridiculous beauty industry profit to hire security or an anti theft idea team so your employees don't look likedumba**es and make us feel like freaking thefts when it's you guys who are really committing it in a way.
Sincerely,
More integrity than I can afford and I'm ok with that. read more
