I have been here one time only because I received a gift card for my birthday. I had a wedding coming up so I decided to get my makeup done and purchase some new items. I was extremely nervous about getting my makeup done, but felt relieved when I met Tania (the makeup artist). I had so much fun and loved my new look! She was very educated and walked me through every step. It was perfect! Thank you Tania for doing a fabulous job! The makeup was a little pricey so I couldn't get too much, but I loved what I bought! I almost didn't go into Sephora after hearing how they treated that influencer, but they carry a product that I like. I will say that entering the store is very overwhelming. You are immediately bombarded with loud music and so many products crammed together. The posters are also so "loud" and in your face. It also doesn't feel clean. With so many products, it makes selecting actually harder. I recently came across Blue Mercury and I have to say, the layout is much friendlier to browse and shop. I also prefer more natural products that aren't full of toxic chemicals and it is just hard to tell anything apart at Sephora. Very little transparency when it comes to which brands are quality. read more

Very nice location. Staff was helpful and not pushy. When the first young lady wasn't sure what I wanted, she had another person who knew skin help me. LI took her time with me and helped me find a cream for tightening under the eyes. Asked me about my skin routine and said it sounded like I had a good one. Lo the greeter was super sweet and accommodating In setting up an appointment for me to have a makeover done. 5 stars Rita did an amazing Free mini facial with the Peter Thomas Roth line which is cruelty free even though it does not state so on the box. 5 Stars Sephora . 3 stars I had made an appointment to get a make over at 2 o'clock . I checked in ten minutes early and no one took me after waiting 40 minutes I just left. Which is unfortunate since I was hoping to get my make over for my husband's award banquet that evening. read more

I love Sephora, I spend way too much time and money there but it's seriously my favorite. This location is right next to my office so I end up coming here a lot. Scottsdale Quarter is on the smaller side and doesn't have as much as the fashion square location but I still prefer it over that one any day (I made the mistake of going to Sephora Fashion Square on a Saturday and I may be scarred for life). The people this location are so awesome that I'd rather just go here and order anything else online that I may want that they don't have in stock. If you ever need anything or have questions, my favorite people there are Jessica, Ashley, Lydia, Makayla and Mckenna (ok so that's like half the store but you get it). They're all really great here but those are the ones I tend to talk to the most. They provide great customer service here and recommend great products. read more

OK, I wasn't particularly impressed with this location. While I was *finally* approached by an associate (eventually), it wasn't nearly as quickly as the Sephora location at Scottsdale Fashion Square. I'm fine to look for things myself, but if I can't find what I'm looking then I'll want some help...and it's much easier when all the associates aren't tied up doing makeovers. Oh well... I found something close to what I was looking for and left. I'll stick with the one at SFS most likely. Parking is in the garage, unless you're lucky enough to nab one of the street parks in front of the stores. read more

I had a terrible experience at Ulta so I decided to stop by this Sephora since it's near my work. I told the employee at the entrance what I was looking for and was quickly greeted by Megan. Megan took me throughout the makeup section and really helped me find what I was looking for plus more. I will definitely stop by here again. This place can be hit or miss. I definitely get a different experience depending on whether I come in with a full-face of makeup or not, but I guess that's to be expected. Regardless of past negative experiences, I am writing this today to leave a glowing recommendation for Vicky! She completely made my day yesterday. I came in wanting to treat myself to a new perfume and mentioned to her the different scent families I typically love. She was so amazingly helpful and made me samples of literally eight different perfumes! Vicky was a joy to work with, and is a total glam queen. SQ (Scottsdale Quarter is a pretty cool place to walk around and shop and also real close from my work place so I always used to get in here and I actually loved this place except for the experience yesterday. I came with my friend and was going to buy Dior but was just trying to look if I like something else too. I actually tried a lot of perfumes on me but didn't like any. So here comes this guy, he is like you have pretty much tried the whole shop on you - you don't want to do that to yourself. My friend was like so annoyed but I was trying to give him the benefit of doubt. I finally picked up the Dior and waited for him while he was generously trying to help others with samples. And then he is like - alright so you want samples right? At this point, it was really difficult to keep my cool - I told him that I just need the bottle and he for some reason couldn't believe it, also I did let him know that I like to try my perfumes which he might not be used to. AGAIN, I won't be back here coz idk but I'm still thinking about it. I hate generalizations. read more

Definitely the best Sephora I've been in. I was approached my multiple associates working and they were friendly and chill with me just walking around browsing. This location has the higher end makeup brands- Charlotte Tilbury, Pat McGrath, etc., which is hard to find the area I've noticed. I'll definitely be back here. Hi my name is Taylor and I am a Sephora addict. No seriously, I think I keep this place open some days! This is my go to Sephora- I'll drive a good ways to come here! They always have everything I need, and often things I do not need lol! The store is really well organized and always clean. The staff is always willing to help you find stuff without being pushy or sales-y. It's basically impossible to go in and not get some kind of product applied to make sure you are using it right and getting the right shade for your skin tone. This most recent time Lydia helped me learn how to apply the new Anastasia cream contour kit I was getting (because I need multiple contour kits apparently!) Soraya did an amazing job at listening to what I wanted to try. I'm not experienced with makeup at all and so I definitely needed a little more instruction and she was happy to give it, did not rush at all and gave me some color options to choose from. Soraya was great, and the makeover ended up looking flawless, I wish my makeup looked that good all the time and it really Felt much more confident and beautiful. Only docked the star based on the knowledge of the regular employees, being a first time I was really trying to ask for more information and there are some things I didn't even realized were offered or that they had until after I left the store and had to look it up. He was so kind when listening to what I was looking for and need for my busy lifestyle which is accompanied by my combination skin. We tried two different options on my face per his suggestion so I could see what the product would look & feel like on [what I consider] my money maker. He hooked ya girl up with Too Faced Born This Way foundation and Huda setting powder. After 4 days of work and play, I can confidentially say I would trust Matty with any product recommendation. I've come here a few times, usually with an idea of what I want, but still unsure. The employees have been incredibly helpful in finding the right Dita Von Teese eyeshadow pallette for a glasses wearer, matte Stila lip stain, primer for scars, and the perfect hue of blush for my pale skin. If you'd like, they can give you helpful application tips and personal opinions while they let you sample just about everything in the store. I much prefer this store over the Fashion Square location. And if you're looking to get your makeup completely done for a special occasion, then ask for Lisa! The day I was getting photos taken, she pulled from all the best brands to make my skin look as flawless as possible, while still having staying power in the summer heat. All I had to do was buy $50 worth of product, which is simple enough considering it's freaking Sephora where two products can easily leap past that amount. But you get what you pay for! read more

Ladies did a great job of finding me the hair straightener of my dreams. It's amazing. It's going to save me 15-20 minutes a day. Absolutely KILLER! Foundation? I am never ever happy with it. I've spent hundreds at Sephora trying to get the right one. I've tried Make-up forever, Nars, Bare Minerals, Dior, and (non-sephora) Mac, you name it! I used Lancome in the past and loved it, but somehow totally forgot they existed. I normally do all my Sephora shopping online. However, I needed my clear eyebrow gel stat. Luckily, there is a Sephora store inside the Scottsdale Quarter. Conveniently located, with two parking structures, it was easy to get in and out. When I entered the store, I was a little dazed as there was so much to take in. Thinking ahead, I brought my eyebrow gel container with me and asked an associate where to find the product. She happily obliged and showed me where it was located. There was no one in line, so I was quick to make my purchase and be on my way. Overall, the store is was well lit and the associates were helpful. This review is specifically for the makeover service and the color matching services. The store itself is nice, like every Sephora. I came in for the 45 minute makeover which requires a $50 purchase. I brought pictures of the look I was going for and talked it over with the artist. The final look I got looked nothing like what I asked for, in fact a lot of it was the opposite. I normally don't say anything in these kinds of situations but I politely asked for the eyeshadow to be changed from ORANGE RED (the least flattering color on a person possible) to something not that color. Let's be real, the only person who looks good with red all over their eyes is Satan and that is not the look I was going for. The artist was put off that I didn't love the look. She did not change it. I went home and washed it all off. The makeover services are probably fine for a night out but not for something like professional pictures. It's frustrating to think you are on the same page with someone for a service and then get something so opposite what you're asking for, and then have to pay for it. The color matching services here haven't been great either. I've gone in twice for an eye concealer - the first time was too light and the second time too dark. Overall this is a great location if you already know what you want; I don't think the employees are trained enough to be doing makeup or complexion matching however. read more

I went to the front door greeter, & asked for help. She spoke into her headgear asking for someone to help me. Still no one came. I couldn't find one of my 3 items, but I still kept looking. How have I never stepped foot in a Sephora before?!! Ah what I was missing -- thinking Ulta was a beauty supply store Ha! Sephora is like the Nordstrom of makeup and beauty stores and Ulta is like the Target. Sephora is an experience -- from the high-end makeup to the gorgeous store and cute bags. I am so happy that I don't have to drive to Nordstrom at Fashion Square to find most of my make-up now -- except for MAC, and I am faithful to my Studio Fix. Sephora carries tons of brands: Urban Decay, Stila, Too Faced, Christian Dior, Chanel along with high-end hair care products like Carol's Daughter and Bumble and Bumble (but no Kerastase...bummer). The store is small though and felt packed on a Friday afternoon. But don't worry because there is tons of parking right across the street in the Scottsdale Quarter south side parking garage. (Even if you have to park in the basement there are elevators to take you right up to the ground level). I'm still partial to Ulta for things like makeup remover wipes and fake eyelashes since they carry the brand I love, but I will definitely be browsing Sephora more often which is unfortunate for my bank account. read more

At checkout, the cashier was such a sweetheart and was going over the different birthday options available. She spent about 5-7 minutes speaking specifically about the Boscia Exfoliating Peel after I told her that I use the Boscia Detoxifying Face wash. She was incredibly thorough and surprisingly, I'm obsessed with the product and have already purchased a larger bottle. I wish that I could remember her name because these stars are for her specifically. I never have a good experience coming in to this location (the girls never speak and finding assistance is a pain) but she was extremely helpful and friendly. read more

I am getting married in October, and I needed to start looking for some good makeup that will last all day and photograph well. Admittedly, I'm pretty clueless about high end makeup and the prices made me want to cryvomit. I went in and poked around, tried some eyeshadows and looked generally lost until one of their associates came to my rescue. She told me they schedule FREE color consultations to help people explore some different brands before buying. I went in the day of my engagement party and got a full face of makeup in about 45 minutes. They consultant walked me through some of the differences in brands (Did you guys know there is such thing as HD makeup for photography? Wut?) and we talked about the steps she was taking as she applied color. We did a moisturizer, primer, eye primer, full eyes, foundation, blush, contouring, and some kind of setting powder to lock it all in. I also had her apply a few individual eyelashes to add some oomph. I was really happy with the result, and I didn't look like a cakeface! She listened to my concerns about having heavy foundation, and used a light coverage Makeup4Ever and light powder, and it looked awesome. She didn't pressure me to buy, but there is the expectation that you spend $50 on product if you have a free application, which isn't hard. I wanted to wait on the foundation since I'm lighter during the winter, but I bought a Stilla eyeliner, Smashbox shadow trio, and the false lashes for around $60. I will plan to get a few more things in the coming months until I have the full shebang. 4 stars, because there is no such thing as a "bargain" here read more

I was looking for a nice gift for my brother and stopped in today to get some ideas. I met a rather lovely woman named Vicky who showed me some awesome gift ideas. The way she sprayed some scents on test strips and said this ones takes you to the cabin at the woods, or this one takes you to the barber shop... Etc etc. I finally settled on a gift set of 12 different colognes - and a gift certificate for one of those samples once you find out the one you like. I love this place because although they are super expensive, I find stuff here you can't really find other places. Some things ya you can find at Sally's Beauty Supply and some things you can find at Ulta, but not everything. I find nail polishes I can't find other places, make up brands I can't find other places, and although expensive it's still cheaper than the mall department stores. And I must admit I love their volume of reviews on products. It's almost like every customer that walks through their door or shops online post a review about products they use which help guide me on what to use for myself. I was having a difficult time finding an eye cream that worked for me and they offered me a few samples to test them out before making the purchase. Needless to stay I finally found the product that works for me and went in to purchase it. What can I say I'm a beauty junkie! And Sephora is my first stop. I love that they have many brands. So I can try out different brands out there... more of a variety. I also like that it looks like make up heaven would look like. I can NEVER pass a Sephora and not go in no matter if I don't intend to buy anything I ALWAYS go in. I more so like this store because they don't hassle me when I go in like Ulta... Ulta makes me feel so uncomfortable shopping there, as they hassle me with multiple "are you doing ok?, can I help you?" Sephora doesn't do that especially this one particular. They are super nice, and cool and eager to help when YOU need it. I never really need help though because I am a beauty junkie so I know most of the products when when I do need some help they are always there... and somewhat knowledgeable. I say that because there are so many brands and even they have told me it's hard to remember all or even know whats actually in the store. But they try and that's what counts the most to me. I spend a lot of money in Sephora alone so I expect a certain amount of service and I never had any problems here. As a tip: I would recommend going on the website and writing what you like down.
