I've been dealing with some acne lately, so I wanted to find a new product that actually works for my skin. I spoke with a super nice worker who explained all the different brands to me, and I really appreciated the time and care she put into helping me. Sephora is definitely on the pricier side, but it really depends on the brand you're looking for, they carry everything from Rhode to Drunk Elephant to all the popular names you see online. I love how they highlight deals and focus so much on skincare. They also offer samples for almost everything, so you can always ask a worker if you want to try something first. For parking, I recommend using any of the lots at Fashion Valley. There are multiple options around the mall, and you can easily walk to Sephora from any of them. read more

I hate that I have to write this but I'm upset of my experience from today. I was being followed by three employees. I really wish I caught it all on camera but I only slightly caught one of them in the act. Before you jump to the conclusion that I'm lying, just know 1. I've never had any experience like this, 2. no one came up to us to ask if we needed any help and we were there for a while trying to color match, and 3. when I bumped into one of the three employees I was being followed by, we made eye contact before she asked me how im doing with such a condescending demeanor that I can't explain how ugly it was. This made me realize something was off. Of all sephoras I go to, I know this was not a normal interaction. The constant eye contact was the giveaway, especially since I caught the one with the glasses peeking over the gondola to look at me. My sister caught one of them peek over. The employee stepped back when she saw that my sister and I were looking at her (2nd Video). When I confronted the one with the glasses, she barely spoke to me. All she said was "nooo!" and waved her manager over. Her face turned red which I'm sure could be that she's either embarrassed that anyone is accusing of her of that or, like I believe, she knew she was in the wrong. But I don't know, as someone who's worked in customer service, too, my first instinct would be for ME to ask the customer who's making her feel that way, and why.... Not call my manager to defend me. Girl! If you're not guilty, stand your ground and provide a way to work things out with the customer. (But then again, that's just me ) I really wish I knew why this happened but I have no clue! This is a review about "Salt and Stone" skin care sold at Sephora and on line. The company has no address and no phone number so it's hard to reviewed on Google . I bought the body mist and lasted 30 minutes on my skin or my clothes. So I went on line and purchased : Body wash, deodorant and body lotion to see if it works this way. Deodorant and body lotion has no smell when you open it . So all four products together did not work. Their website doesn't not let you review them. I guess only the good reviews are there. The service here is so bad. Went to get my friend a bday gift. Went to ring it up. I can already tell the cashier is going to have an attitude with me. She says literally nothing to me and then I can tell she doesn't know how much the lipgloss was because it didn't have anything to scan on it. She was Asian with dyed red hair and a nose ring. Long story short, she tried to overcharge me for the gloss because someone put it in the wrong area and it was labeled as being cheaper as it actually was. She ended up calling over a heavier set black woman who took over because I guess the redheaded girl was done with me. As the new woman is ringing me up she goes "I'm gonna have to re price this now" and at that point, I was so annoyed that I just ended up not getting it. Found myself in the need of a makeup artist super last minute. Called several stores in the area that did not have availability. Called this store right when they opened and was told if I could get there within 30 mins they would be able to help me. The woman who helped me was Lily. She understood my situation and made me look and feel like a new woman. She was super patient and asked my opinion every step of the way. I am a person of color, with tons of hyperpigmentation and scarring and she color matched me by mixing two NARS full coverage foundation's, something I'd never have the skill or patience to do and it was absolutely flawless. I received so many compliments from the event I had no plans on attending. I will be forever grateful to her and this store for their flexibility and lily's work. I went inside this Sephora looking for a facial crème that would also help with my dark spots, and when I finally got "help", the older woman who worked there told me I'm too young for face crème and I needed to use an acne drying lotion (I'm 23). She assumed I was a teenager and didn't even help me find what I needed. She told me all I needed was SPF and a good moisturizer, and although those two things are important, I felt as if she just assumed my age right off the bat. Please Sephora associates, if a customer asks you for help, don't try giving them alternative. We have knowledge about skincare as well, your employee told me to buy a DRYING LOTION for dark spots. I came to Sephora to check out to see what's new in makeup. It happened to be my birthday month (January 2020) when I stopped by and got my free Milk sample. I also ended up buying a Huda Beauty liquid matte lipstick. I loved the color of the lipstick. Very dark pink with a matte look. I have been wearing it and it does come off when you eat greasy foods. Anyway, I am a fan of their skin care because I am trying to look young. So much makeup and skincare to choose from. The inside was very organized and they had staff telling me if I had any questions to just ask. I got here right when they opened on a weekday at 10 am so there was plenty of staff on the floor. When I was ready to pay, there was no line. The cashier wished me a Happy Birthday. I showed them my member card which they scan and you accumulate points. You can use your points for samples or save them. I saved mine. I enjoyed my visit here since I came early. Never come here when it's busy or crowded. I'm a big beauty junkie of Sephora and finally got the" Sephora VIB" lol thanks that's lots of money spent here. I should have been a VIB long time ago but because I go to Nordstrom and Macy's beauty section too, But literally love Sephora the freebies and the big selection of skin and hair care, perfumes, and over 300 beauty brands of make up- it's like heaven to me. Today we came here because we went to JCPenney to shop for hubby n son. This Sephora is inside JCP. The guy who works here was very friendly and helpful. He told us the new product of KatvonD and Too faced and other stuff on sale. I like this small location not too busy. Overall great service here. If you want less crowded come to this location. Great little Sephora store packed with items that the larger stores and even online don't carry. There's been a huge turnover since January 2020 which is a good thing because they replaced the aloof team with peeps that actually enjoy working here & helping customers. They are helpful, efficient & sweet. Always a pleasure to come in here. Unfortunately Sephora has decided to part ways with JCP & will be replaced with a Kohls. I don't know exactly when that'll happen but I was told within the next 2 years ;(. Most recently I ordered an item online via JCP and picked it up at their 'customer service desk' by the entrance. Just a forewarning if you order online or have a return this is the spot where you'll have to do it and it's sucks. They have 2 lines, 1 for pick ups & 1 for returns. I had a so so experience here. This location is nice because it's one of the biggest Sephoras in San Diego. The only thing is the location is judgmental, bougie and mostly everyone thinks their rich and better then everyone. I went in to look around and smell some perfumes all the employees were nice until the last girl. I've been wanting to try the Dior forever foundation but it's around $50 so I wanted a sample first before buying because I hate returning . I asked the lady for one and she thought I was asking for a color match. Which I'm very experienced in make up, I didn't need a color match, I just wanted the sample. Once we got there I told her no color match just a sample please and her whole attitude and demeanor changed it's like she viewed me as if I was just a freeloader. She got rude and a attitude. Be warned Don't buy Christmas gifts here unless you buy it a few days before Christmas so the person you're buying for can have a chance to bring it back, if they need to They are not lenient and don't make exceptions. You really only have 30 days for a refund, whether or not it's Christmas. Such a scam. The entire mall has different refund/exchange policies except Sephora. Super disappointed. They didn't even try to help even after I called Sephora customer service. The representative there said that it is at the managers discretion. Who knows who's telling the truth. Tati saved the day! I walked into Sephora feeling upset because I had a horrible makeup job done to my face from the MAC makeup counter at Nordstrom. I looked like a clown and explained that the makeup artist basically painted what was on her face to mine. Tati not only had great customer service but also made me look fantastic. She could see what the other person was trying to do. I originally asked for her to try to fix the bad areas but we just ended up starting all over. She asked me what I thought about the makeup the whole time, was professional and knows how to do makeup on a Black woman. Trust me I'll be back at this location asking her specifically from now on. First of all, I love Sephora. I've probably been to 10 different locations around the world and the service never disappoints me. However, I feel mixed about this location. Sephora is located in one of the best shopping areas in San Diego, with upper end retailers - so I know I couldn't go wrong. I visited during peak hours on a Friday - and the store was bustling with customers. In fact, it was hard to grab a Salesperson's attention. After 5 minutes, I asked for assistance. A woman who appeared to be the lead / or Manager, said that she would grab someone that could personally help me with my skin tone -- the person came over and was clearly someone closer to my ethnicity. Whilst the lead / Manager shuffled over to help someone that (ironically), was fair in completion and had blond hair. I didn't know whether to thank her for aligning me with someone closer to my ethnicity, or be offended on so many levels... Shouldn't all Sephora beauty specialists be able to assist all customers regardless of skin tone, features, etc? Brushing that aside, I get to the register, and mention that I have a rewards - Sephora VIP / VIB account. The cashier rushes me through the process / transaction by asking me go ahead and pay. When I told her "their chip reader wasn't working", she responds "yeah, yeah, yeah" rudely. I suggested that they place a small cardboard paper in the chip reader slot until it is functional. This would eliminate and save time for the customer. I also mentioned that they should talk to their merchant provider to update their terminal payment machines. It clearly went over her head and she just wanted to grab my payment. At the end, my purchase wasn't credited to VIP / VIB account - and now to call Customer Service. I received a promo for a free 90-min consultation and makeover and decided to use it for my uncles wedding. I have never gotten my makeup done at Sephora and rarely buy products from there. I usually get my makeup done at MAC and I didn't really have high expectations for Sephora as I'm never really fully satisfied after getting my makeup done. They started me off with a mini oxygen facial and let me tell you...it felt heavenly. After prepping my skin with some awesome products for my skin, Melveen took me over to the beauty bar to check my Color iQ to match a foundation with my skin. Melveen used Marc Jacobs remarcable foundation and taught me some super useful color correcting and flawless foundation tricks. Needless to say, I didn't walk out empty handed. I splurged on some Sephora professional series brushes and an awesome tarte palette I can't wait to use. I actually loved how my makeup turned out and Melveen knew just the look I wanted. read more

I paid quite a bit for same day shipping from this Sephora only to see that the item was used. It's pretty unsanitary. It pretty inconvenient to have to go in person to exchange it when the whole purpose is to receive it at your door in a new condition especially if you pay a lot for same day shipping. Staff at Sephora are usually very rude and judgy especially at the free standing stores so I prefer to go to the ones in JC Penney. I wanted my friend to get matched with Lancôme and the NARS concealer since she didn't have the right shade of foundation. Peter, who is the reason I am even writing this review was AMAZING. I've never encountered anyone as helpful or as friendly as him. He was so sweet and matched my friend to the perfect color and didn't even rush us. I can't stand this location. Even when they aren't busy, they don't help. I feel like I'm being purposely ignored.. I've been purchasing products from Sephora for years from many locations. I usually do my own research when it comes to the products they carry, so that when I go to this specific location, I get in and get out. I don't even want to ask anyone questions anymore because when I do, everyone that isn't working with Customers....straight up ignores me. I've even experienced another customer standing next to me looking at the same product, and they are even asked if they need help! This has happened more than once!! Terrible customer service. The only reason I give them two stars, is because the Gad the items I was looking for in Stock. Their Customer Service isn't good, they rather move to the side and keep talking instead of offering you assistance or a basket. The girls at the register were low key rude, the one that rang me up made a comment "wow! If you're part of the lgbtq community be careful, I asked for a travel size fragrance and instead and having my question answered the worker told me the bottle I was holding was for men and started explaining how bottles for women are shaped and how I was in the mens side, then when I can't find the bottle I wanted on the shelf I went to the drawers in the bottom to find it and a worker stopped me and said I wasn't allowed to touch anything in the drawers because that was only for the workers, I've been to Sephora several times and when I can't find a product they always ask if I've looked in the bottom, I assumed if I've been asked before it's ok to look but I guess, the whole experience was just disappointing. read more
