My Google review was removed so I am posting this here. Whoever worked the register on 2/27/2026 at 1:30 pm did not understand the difference between a return and an exchange and completely mishandled my transaction. I brought in two Eadem lip balms and one Dior lip balm. This cashier somehow exchanged my two Eadem lip balms for the Dior lip balm that I had already brought into the store, which makes absolutely no sense. To be very clear, I said I wanted to RETURN my two Eadem lip balms and then EXCHANGE my Dior lip balm for a different Dior lip balm shade. Instead, she processed it as if I was exchanging my two Eadem lip balms for the Dior lip balm I already owned. Because of this mistake, I was double charged for a lip balm I already had, which is completely unacceptable. These were supposed to be two DIFFERENT transactions and she put it into one. I later called the store and spoke to a cashier named Jenna, who laughed and dismissed the situation. She even acknowledged that the cashier was at FAULT, yet still told me that they would not refund me and that I should dispute the charge with my bank. Being told to go through my bank to correct a mistake that was clearly made by the cashier at SEPHORA is extremely frustrating and unprofessional. She then told me to Google the Sephora customer service number as she did not want to provide me it and promised me that if I called I would get my refund but I still have no refund. I asked if I can come in s store and show my receipt and get a refund instead and was told that they won't refund me in store. This entire experience was upsetting and incredibly disappointing. If this is how loyal Sephora customers are treated when a clear mistake is made by your employee then you have lost me as a customer. I am still waiting for my refund and for the store to correct their mistake. read more

Today the grand opening for Sephora in the Marlboro Plaza shopping strip and the we patrons are elated! FIlled with buzz from social media, their grand opening did not disappoint. There were balloons, spin the wheel and one scratch off card per shopper. If you are lucky, you can win free things such as lip stains or a facial mask, as I did. I also spun the wheel and won a rose quartz facial massager. If you spent $100 in purchases, you won a free Sephora messenger bag. I was in need of some beauty supplies that Sephora carries and while their online ordering website stated they were out of the items, this store carried them because they had those heavily requested items on reserve for all new stores, I was told. Now some of you may ask, how do they compare against Ulta? Sephora carries more high-end brands, such as Chanel, Tatcha, Tom Ford to name a few, whereas Ulta offers some brand name beauty products as well as more drugstore options. Like Ulta, Sephora also has their own make-up brand called, Sephora Collection which is their affordable beauty products. The space here is a bit tight and it was quite packed by the time I came to pick up a few things. During the transiting time with face masks: to wear or not to wear, most of the customers wore their face masks and all the store employees wore theirs. You will find Biossance (™)  Squalane Hand sanitizers throughout the store which is very comforting. As I came in to look for my needs, I was a bit overwhelmed trying to journey through, a wonderful sales associate named Winter found me and helped me find all my desired products. I am happy to say, they carry my much beloved LANEIGE products, Farmacy and Glow Recipe. The lovely sales associate Winter also helped color match me for the latest foundation I was eyeing. All the sales associates there are very courteous and I look forward to frequenting this location. read more

I'm so excited that there is a Sephora that just opened so close to my home. Normally I have to go to the faux-Sephora inside the JCPenney or travel 30 min to get to a real one. All Sephoras are pretty consistent. If you're on vacation and enter a Sephora, you'll feel at home. This Sephora: This Sephora is no different, albeit it's brand new and just opened this weekend. As I enter, I see the familiar black and white stripe theme, the same sales associated with different faces, the shelves organized with signs displaying the brand that they hold, fun and lively music and atmosphere. The difference here (at least for now) is that everything is neatly in its spot, almost all testers just freshly opened, amenities such as tester mascara wands and cotton pads fully stocked. Sales associates are abundant. In fact, I was approached somewhere between 5-10 times by an associate asking if I needed anything, some asking multiple times. Normally, in a Sephora, the associated are talking to each other and you need to flag someone down. I received an email inviting me to the grand opening this weekend (Fri-Sun) at this Sephora, promising fun prizes, scratch off cards (with purchase) among other festivities. Unfortunately, I went on Sunday and after I made my purchase, there were no prizes, no scratch off cards, no spin the wheels. The cashier told me the grand opening festivities ended yesterday (Saturday)! I was disappointed.... At least I was able to get my gift (tote bag that I probably won't use) with $100 purchase. Sephora vs Ulta: As a comparison to Ulta, the Ulta rewards program is significantly superior than Sephora....significantly! Ulta's gift with purchases when buying on-line is also 1000x superior than Sephora. There is almost no incentive with Sephora's reward program. The trade off is that shopping at Sephora is a more lively experience with sales associates who are knowledgable and provide recommendations. Ulta associates are not trained on the products. I prefer to google search than spend time for the associate to read the package description to me. The other problem i have with Ulta is the brands they carry. They have both drugstore brands and limited high end brands. Sephora carries mostly higher end brands. The problem is that if you buy drugstore brands at Ulta, they charge so much more than your local pharmacy and they don't carry enough high end brands to buy the things I am looking for. You don't have that problem with higher end brands because their prices are fixed but Ulta only carrries the higher end brands that are old school, traditional....similar to the ones at dept stores, none of the newer, up and coming or trending products like k-beauty. I've made this suggestion to them many times but they aren't listening!! For that reason, I usually end up buying from Sephora (although I want to buy from Ulta). read more

FIRST OF ALL, I WISH I CAN GIVE THIS LOCATION 10 STARS. This Sephora location is by far the best one ever to exist. The staff is so friendly and extremely helpful! So many different employees came up to me asking if I needed help and were amazing. The Marlboro location is by far better than the one in the Freehold Raceway Mall, due to staff friendliness. This Sephora location will ALWAYS and ONLY get my business. :) read more

Everytime I go to this location, I am disappointed. The employees are too busy talking to eachother and playing on their phones to help customers. I am never greeted there or asked if i need help. Today i went in there to pick up shampoo since i ran out this morning. I was looking at the hair section for a good 30 minutes trying to read the products and look online for help. I eventually went to the register to ask for help. I told the empolyee that i am looking for shampoo & conditioner for wavy hair with some slip in the conditioner for detangling. She looked at me like i had three heads since i wore my hair straight today and preceded to tell me that i do not need wavy/curly products and that "any shampoo" will work for me. And that all i need is a curling cream. Then the employee walked me to different brands and pointed at anything that said "curl" on it. And actually never showed me a shampoo and conditioner. I decided to pick something out myself and asked the employee to show me makeup removing oil. They showed me the most expensive one in the store in a tiny tiny bottle. I politely asked if there was a different oil that was less expensive with more product. She looked at me in disgust and said " we dont sell cheap products here". I looked around by self again and found a nice big bottle of oil for half the price. Again, the employees were more worried about the gossip and what they are having for lunch then helping customers. Employees also need more product training. I will make the extra 25 minute drive to the Freehold Sephora. read more

Very clean & presentable store. Has a nice array of skin care products & cosmetics in general. A bit lighter than what I'm used to in the fragrance department, nonetheless has some essentials. The reason for only a 3 star review is that it took nearly 10 minutes for any of the associates to greet me upon entering the store. Was surprised at this due to the fact most of the associates were younger.. Shout out to Diane who after ten minutes finally greeted me in front of the Jo Malone fragrances. Had a very nice conversation & discussed about different products in store & online. Coming from working in High End Retail myself & understanding how important customer service is to the high end cliente, to not be greeted for nearly 10 minutes was definitely not impressive. Store is in a great location & will likely do well, but it truly goes without saying the old phrase of never judge a book by its cover. Will I go back? Maybe. Hopefully next time they know who I am. read more
