Honestly the beauty advisors here are not friendly, have attitudes, and don't help you. Specifically the one black female advisor with big curling hair. I've been in there twice and encountered her and she has a very bad attitude and doesn't help you when needed. Another cashier always has an attitude as well. I went her to get a Fenty Beauty foundation match, and one of the staff members who's name was Margaret I believe was INCREDIBLY helpful and knowledgable. She was VERY helpful and made my trip to this Sephora one of the best experiences I've had at any Sephora. Anyone who goes here, ask for Margaret. She's amazing. read more

I love this place I get my makeup done often here and the girls that work at Sephora in dedham make you feel like your their bestie. Erin has done my makeup several times and she's talented, professional and very nice. Never ever have i ever wanted to rush home and write a bad review about a Sephora but this Sephora just gave me the worst experience! I came in this evening wanting to exchange two items however this location did not carry one of the items i wanted so it had to returned. I explained to the girl at register (wish i had caught her name!) what the situation was and "thought" she understood me. She totally did not understand that i wanted to return one product and just exchange the other because she was give a discount difference on the exchange product and not giving me anything for return item!!! it took at least 10 times of her starting the transaction over and over again! Her manager was clearly annoyed and i felt bad for the girl but why should i be feeling like this if i did nothing wrong!!!!! THe girl clearly didn't listen!!!!!! All I'm saying is If Sephoras employee's don't know how to listen to their customers or know how to properly return items then don't work at the register! I had two lovely ladies help me yesterday when I went in. Jenelle and Gina. I needed a good cover up for a tattoo that I need to keep hidden at work, and they showed me how to apply it and gave me advice. They also helped me pick out some stay put eyeshadow! Even though they could have been doing something else, they made me feel like I was the only person in the store. I had complimented Gina about her nails and she even wrote down the name of where she gets hers done! Also the other ladies working there were super nice too! I left feeling like I made new friends! I'm writing this review feeling torn. Mainly because the young lady I worked with was incredibly sweet, and she is truly a hard worker. Although I need to voice my experience. I went in on March 6th,2015. I had booked a Makeover to have my make up done for my friends birthday party. I must say when I got there I was attended to quickly and the young lady began my makeup. The first issue I had was prior to coming in that Friday I had filled out a little application on their site, stating exactly what kind of makeup I was looking to have done. I honestly didn't see the point of even filling out that small application considering the makeup artist didn't even look into it. Anyways, moving on, she began doing makeup and honestly she was doing a great job, explaining what she was exactly doing. I felt that she understood the look I was going for, for that night. Further into getting my makeup done, she asked another makeup artist to place false lashes on me, since she was still learning how to herself. That was perfectly fine with me, the second issue was the fact that the second artist placed the lashes very, very horribly. She didn't put mascara on me prior to adding the false lashes so there was almost this gap between my natural lashes and the falsies. It was very noticeable that I had them on. I personally thought once she added the eyeliner the overall eye look would look better. It unfortunately did not. I'm no pro at eyeliner myself but given the tools she had, the eyeliner was very sloppy and uneven. Thankfully enough I had a smokey eye done, so not everything was noticeable. Once I finished I payed and I left. Now the biggest issue of this entire experience was what occurred that night of the birthday party. When i saw my significant other that night I of course greeted him with a kiss and a hug, later to realize that a good chunk of my foundation had been transferred all over his mouth, ,his nose and his face. I was mortified!! Thankfully he took it in good spirits and laughed it off but I was afraid to hug or physically interact with anyone else. I personally will never have my makeup done again at this location, being that the experience and the after math were so horrible. I recently visited Sephora at the Legacy place is Dedham MA and was let down by their lack of customer service. When I entered the Sephora I was not greeted. I frequently visit Sephora and was out of both foundation and an eye brow pencil so I had intentions of buying that and more. I walked around the store swatching multiple foundations and not one associate greeted nor approached me for the help I clearly needed. After about 10 minutes I called it quits on the foundation and headed to the Anastasia Beverly Hills station and I seen an associated refilling product. I waited for her to finish and was ready to engage in conversation when the associate closed the drawer side stepped me and continued to do other tasks. I found it odd that being in the store for over 20 minutes that not ones associates acknowledged me. I simply grabbed my brow wiz and went to the register. In line I could overhear the cashier telling customers about a survey to take online to win a gift card but when it was my turn to check out the cashier did not mention anything she did however ask if anyone helped me with my make up today and I told her no, no one helped me at all. She smiled,complimented my "beautiful makeup" and gave me a replacement card since I had recently lost my V.I.B card, and said thank you have a nice day. What I noticed was that she did not acknowledge my comment of the lack luster customer service. I thought about returning my purchase but a girl needs perfect brows but I simply won't ever visit that location if Sephora at all. read more

I kind of had a "what the what?" moment upon reading some of the rave reviews for this location - maybe I just went on an off night? I was here a couple of weeks ago and there were a handful of employees working, but it was around 7 on a Tuesday or Wednesday so the store was pretty dead. None of the employees were particularly friendly, which is very FAR off the mark from how I usually feel about Sephora. I asked one girl about comparing two BB creams and she had no idea how to answer, I get that working at a retail store does not guarantee the best product training - but someone in the store had to have some kind of understanding of the products, right? She just sort of left me to figure it out on my own, so I went off to the big lit mirror and tried them by myself while she went back to her post. Then, I found a flawless face kit. I was trying to pick between the BB cream I had chosen and the kit, which was a concealer and powder combo kind of thing (I'm trying to eliminate full coverage foundation). I saw another employee, so I asked her what she thought between the two - would she go with the flawless face kit which had more products or the BB cream: for the sake of looking most "natural" and saving time. She looked annoyed and pointed to the kit, "Well what shade is that?". I said "Light". She pointed to the BB, "And this?".. "Uh... also light".. "Okay, go with this one" and walked away. That had NOTHING to do with my question - and they're both the same shade so how she drew her conclusion is beyond me. I then picked my BB cream and went to the cashier... SHE TOO was rude, how is that possible? Then, as I was leaving, two employees were raising their voices over taking breaks or something. How professional! read more

I went in the other day with my sister and cousin, like we have many times before. Every other time we have gone in we were welcomed and asked if we "needed help" with kindness and respect. However this last visit was far from the norm. When we entered the store we were greeted by the sales team, which I appreciate, but what transpired next has shaken me to my core. As my sister, cousin and I walked around the store testing out lipstick colors, we noticed a bald light skin male lurking near us. As we went to different areas of the store, this man continued to follow us. We continued to walk around and 'test' our theory, and everywhere we went, he followed. After my sister bought her eyebrow pomade, we left the store and the man went back to the back of the store. We reentered the store to tell one of the sale associates about our experience and were told "well thats the manager so..." The bald man named Kenny came out and we asked him why he was following us through out the store. He proceeded to say with a sly attitude "this is my store and I can walk where ever I want" I told him thats he was being inappropriate and that he made us feel uncomfortable. He then tried to flip the blame on us saying 'If you weren't doing anything wrong then you shouldn't have felt bad.' So not only did this manager Kenny not introduce himself once or ask us if we needed any help, he tried to blame the victims for why he was being rude and racially profiling us. 2 college students who work there tails off and a middle school teacher. I am very disappointed with this experience and this manager Kenny. I do not feel comfortable going back there or thinking about my students going there after this incident, which is saddening because Sephora was the place where I fell in love with makeup. read more

this sephora has the absolute worst customer service i have ever experienced. i was in there tonight to try to find a new foundation; when i walked in there was no greeter, and i spent a good 10-15 minutes putting various different foundations on my hand to find a match and not one person came over to help me. at one point i looked over my shoulder, made eye contact with someone, and she ignored me and walked away. maybe it's just me but i thought sales associates in retail are supposed to make the first move and ask if the customer needs help? is that not how it works anymore? do i have to chase people down and ask for assistance? on top of the horrendous customer service, a lot of the tester samples were empty and the trash receptacles were overflowing. so it seems to me like all the associates do is stand around all day not working (must be nice). when i finally made my way up to the counter to check out, then man behind the counter didn't even say "hi, how are you?" just rang me in like some sephora robot. this location is a disgrace and i don't even know why i keep going back. there's an ulta in westwood now so i'll be going there from now on. read more
