I live in Düsseldorf and have tried almost every Korean. We tried multiple dishes and none of what we've ordered was good. The only dish that was OK was Japchae which had a bunch of msg in it. The beef stew with glass noodle was also ok. But the rest.... The pancake missed cruchiness, too sour and salty. The kimchi soup was oversoured and inedible. The Yuk hoe missed flavor. The Korean fried chicken tasted like Chinese gu Lao rou and missed crunchiness and juiciness. The cold noodles was just spicy and vinegary sour. read more

The owner of this restaurant is very rude. When the boss of this retaurant saw that my friend had a stroller, he refused to serve her, outright lying to her that there was no room. The restaurant had plenty of seating at the time. My Chinese friends were also forcibly asked to move their seats in this restaurant. This place made my day. Hot stone bibimbap tasted heavenly. Rice, cucumber, mushrooms, carrots, sprouts, green veggies, beef and egg with spicy sauce. Amen! I was super impressed with the assortment of banchan. 9 dishes, wow! Here is the best part... 11€! That is all for an amazing meal. They need to charge more. This is high quality, in a classy place. A friend who used to live in Seoul was visiting so what better way to further introduce me to Korean food than dining at Seoul. I've only ever tried here on Japan Tag but too long a queue...so a hot sunny Düsseldorf evening meant Seoul was fairly quiet around 19.00. The waitress who greeted us was beautifully dressed in a Hanbok and set the tone for what was to follow. Bulgogi was on my friends mind and I'm open to experimenting beyond my British taste buds to savour better more interesting cuisine. We choose the set menu 1 (for two) which gave a nice introduction to Bulgogi, expertly cooked by our hostess. The marinaded beef was mouth-wateringly tender. Meet is the centre piece of a lot of Korean cooking so the lettuce leaves to create your own wraps are often a welcomed sight. The menu gave us soup to start with and then dumplings (similar but studier than gyoza). A large selection of sides... Although the portion size, like three pieces of stir fried tofu takes some getting used to after the "pile it high" mentality of Germany. There was also roast duck with a fine assortment of vegetables. Overall very nice food, very friendly and attentive waiting staff, spacious tables and agreeable decor. One surprise, a good one, were the impressively spotless toilets. I've read recently that you should judge a restaurant by the toilets - meaning if the toilets are spotless the kitchen probably is too ... And it's often true. So this place gets top marks. Lunch was a great deal, and tasty. We had the soups, yukejang and bulkogi. Service was very pleasant and attentive. The food was served in/with proper Korean silverware and dinnerware. The yukejang was pretty taste (not the best I've had, but it was okay) and bulkogi was okay too. It attracts a mix clientele (Asians and locals) and is spacious enough to seat many small groups of people. I'd recommend this Korean restaurant here - they are even open on Sundays, a plus! read more

I believe I've found my favorite korean restaurant in Dusseldorf. Their service was friendly, the food was even better. It's the most authentic place I've been to in Dusseldorf hands down. The barometer in food standard is sadly unreliable In Dusseldorf. Having all the high ratings, and craving good Korean bbq, we decided to give it a shot for dinner while visiting the city. Although the restaurant was busy, the food was not good. The bbq beef/Galbi was chewy and overcooked (they bring it out already cooked), and the appetizers were average--guess you can't screw up fried items as much, but nothing special. Service was slow and inconsiderate. It was overall a disappointing dinner. I wish there was better Asian food options in town to give these mediocre restaurants some competition to step it up! You're better off getting some pizza in old town. read more

You know you've hit something special when even the rice is tasty. Hit town on a Saturday night stopover, and ordered a stone-pot beef and vegetable soup. The spiciness is just enough to set your tongue alight, without overcoming the richness in the broth. There are also a healthy amount of entree dishes that comes with the special. Although I'm not a fan of the cold, soft tempura that is included , they are also quite delicious (especially the tofu). Decor is standard, ad the waitresses are a bit overburdened tonight - but really, one is here for an enjoyable meal. Worth a visit for all. read more

I ordered the tofu and the bulgogi. The tofu was served prior to the side dishes, which was surprising for me since they usually serve the side dishes first. The tofu was good, it featured seaweed as a topping which was different along with the sauce. As for the side dishes, the portions were a tad small for my taste, but the presentation was great, way fancier than I was expecting. The bulgogi was cooked on a table next to me with a portable stove. The beef marinade was sweet but not too sweet, perfect to go with rice. The beef was cooked with leeks and onions, which was typical, and wrapping lettuce, gochujang, and garlic was included to make wraps. The ratio of rice and beef and everything else was spot on and I finish all those at the same time which was great. Interesting note, the chopsticks here are rectangular, not square, which was fascinating. The staff was nice - the owner I believe spoke English quite well, and so did the waitress. The owner was super friendly and asked me multiple times how the food was when I was eating. 5 out of 5. Definitely a must go if you are craving some Korean in Dusseldorf. read more

Seoul Restaurant was overall ok. The waitress was really nice and the service was good. I find that Korean restaurants in Düsseldorf tend to have nice ambience, but the food doesn't taste as good as I expect- maybe my standards are too picky. The portions were decent. Atmosphere is good and the restaurant is spacious; I went with my husband, but I can imagine it'd be fun to go with large groups of family and friends. I have to say- I was disappointed with the soondubujjigae. The tofu was hard and the soup temperature wasn't hot enough- I expect boiling soondubu when I order it. Husband's meal was good. I have yet to find good soondubu in Germany; however, other dishes seem to be better. read more

A nice korean restaurant. It's a little hidden in Klosterstraße, but certainly a recommendation. Especially the "Bibimbap" is really great. The service is excelent and the food is presented really well. Nice service personell, which even gave some insights about korean culture and traditions. The interior of the restaurant could could be improved, therefore the 4 stars. But, the food is great and we'll be back for sure. read more

Visited after reading the review. Another one of an exceptional place in Dusseldorff one must try if you want to experience authentic Korean food. The owner served us, we were there early afternoon. The owner's wife who also cooked and served wore a traditional Korean dress. The style of Bulgogi was what I tasted at home back in 1960s. ChamBong was spicy but in good way. We had Nang Myun which was also good. They used good quality rice which some restaurant over look. Clean place with good food and exceptional hospitality, what more can you ask? We had a very nice time here! It's near the centre, so you don't have to walk that far :-) The food is great, it tastes fresh!! Watch out for the spicy dishes though (they are marked with a red pepper).They grill the food at your table, and when they're done they give a very polite 'bon appetit'. Also, you get some side dishes. The staff, everyone, is very polite and sweet. Tables are cleaned very thoroughly when guests leave. So, five stars without a doubt! read more

Probably my favourite korean restaurant in this area. The waiters and waitresses were friendly, genuine and showed a sense of humor. They also gave great advice to a person I was there with recently who never had Korean food before and they found a meal that they really liked. The food itself was fantastic. Everything from the stew, the sauce, the meat and all the smaller dishes was very well done. The taste was very "homey" and reminded me of the food that a Korean colleague used to cook and bring in to work for everyone to enjoy. The pricing is decent. Some might find it expensive considering the relatively small dish sizes, though. And that's why you should eat your rice, too! Expect to pay around 20€ for a good meal, excluding drinks and dessert. read more

Nice Korean restaurant in the city centre. Food is a bit pricey but very authentic. Also, the owner is really friendly so I enjoy going there. I love the kimchee which comes as a free side with any main dish. But portion is rather small so I had to order extra kimchee. This is probably the best restaurant I've ever been to, if not that, then definitely one of the best ones. The staff is super friendly and even gives you some insider tips on how to eat special Korean food like a pro. The food is so delicious, I would go there everyday if I would live there and the prices are totally cool for the extreme amount of food you get. The restaurant felt authentic in the design and menu, and it seemed to be a favorite of the local Asian population. They had 9 side dishes, which was a nice touch.
