One of the best Korean dining experiences I've had in Germany so far. This restaurant is huge with plenty of space for families or large groups and parties and a great place for Korean BBQ and food. There is both "normal" style seating and Korean-style seating; we opted for the latter, which had comfy seats to lounge on the floor. I loved the little thoughtful details that the restaurant provided- personal bins behind seats to place jackets and items in (in case you don't want the BBQ smoke on your clothing), plenty of shoe horns for taking on and off shoes for the Korean-style area, and my absolute favorite part of the restaurant- a cozy children's corner with books, toys, a "Kinder Kino" with DVDs and TV, art supplies, and lots of pillows to get comfortable. It was great to let my 1.5 year old play and entertain himself in that area while we ate.
The menu offers several types of Korean BBQ (samgyupsal, LA galbi, bulgogi, etc.), as well as Korean soups, bibimbap, and the typical Korean fare. We ordered BBQ (pork belly and beef) as well as crispy seafood pancake (haemul pajeon) as an appetizer. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. The portions of BBQ were a tad small for our liking, but it was nice that we could order single serving items (a lot of restaurants require 2 people to order each dish). Our server was friendly and attentive as well, and he was also patient and nice to our son- always an added bonus.
I've been to Gogimatcha in Cologne, which is an affiliate restaurant, but this location in Dusseldorf was very different. While the Cologne restaurant serves more street food/bar food and is much smaller, this restaurant is a more traditional type of BBQ/Korean restaurant.
For families, birthday parties, or even a quick business lunch, I highly recommend this restaurant for Korean food lovers. Parents with young children will especially appreciate the children's corner and entertainment area for their little ones. read more
