But as I encouraged the firm to consider a small payday, the representative began to defend its practice by really convoluting the conversation with a number of contradictory theories. I tried my best to reason with the representative. But she began cutting me off and talking loudly to the point where I asked her to please lower her tone; that we were just two professionals talking. But she couldn't help herself. A few months ago, I was hit by a truck and knew I needed to file a claim or a lawsuit with an…read moreattorney to get the compensation I needed, because I had tried the process before and hadn't made any progress by myself. I didn't place much stock in personal injury lawyers or truck accident attorneys before but I had to take the risk. I was very particular about who I selected and I eventually chose Sergio and his team. They gave me a lot of good vibes and I respected their case results. What sold me was Sergio's work ethic and willingness to talk with me and learn more about the accident. He was willing to give me advice on what he would do and didn't try to sell me on anything, and I think that was a big reason why I ultimately went with him. He was genuinely concerned about me receiving the best available help and wanted to point me in the best direction, even if that possibly meant not being at his firm.  I sat down with Sergio and explained the accident to him. I was driving through an intersection when a truck suddenly turned across traffic in front of my car. There was no green arrow signaling that it was his turn to go. The truck driver later said that he was momentarily confused and didn't realize there was a left turn signal. After the crash, I saw how bad the damage to my car was. The entire front end was wrecked and crushed, a tire was at an impossible angle. The windows were broken and I knew the car was beyond any repair. My physical injuries were also painful. I had numerous lacerations and flesh wounds, a bad concussion, two broken ribs, and a broken shoulder. There was also a lot of soreness in my left leg and I had some damage to my ankle.  The truck driver gave me all of his insurance information and the name of the business he was driving for. The paramedics treated me at the scene but took me to the emergency room to make sure there was nothing going on they couldn't identify. The doctor said I would probably need to be kept in the hospital for some treatment, like fixing my ribs and ankle, but I would need to go through some physical therapy to make sure I didn't lose any range of motion. I wound up unable to do a lot of work in the classroom since I'm a teacher and had to take a few weeks away.  Sergio took my case and helped me handle the lawsuit. Initially, the claim was denied, but Sergio was aggressive and made sure to provide all the necessary evidence. The insurance company, he said, was definitely not trying to be helpful and was just trying to save as much money as possible because there was no way the company or driver wouldn't be found at fault. He said it was a common thing with insurance companies and all the money we were asking to cover different expenses was why they were so reluctant.  Sergio was to the point with me and was very patient when I asked him a ton of questions. I wanted to ensure I was making the right choice. I called him at different times and he was always willing to answer me, which made me grateful. As time went on and the claim was being negotiated, he gave me updates and more about where we were in the process. He and his team would talk with the insurance agent and try to get him to come up on the offer, and there would be a period of discussion. This was the longest part of the process, I was told.  After a few months, Sergio told me that all the arguing and negotiating had paid off. The insurance agency for the business was going to cover all my expenses as we requested. I had to be extremely careful with my budget and had already started making a payment plan for the hospital, but thanks to Sergio, I no longer had to worry about that.  He gave me the check the next time I made it into the law office. He said that if I ever needed to call him for anything related to legal work, I should not hesitate. There were no hang-ups in the process of receiving the check and I've made recommendations to my friends about Sergio and his team just as how I found him. About a year ago, I experienced a slip-and-fall accident and hired an attorney without doing enough research beforehand. Unfortunately, my experience with Sergio and Monique was extremely disappointing. The customer service was unacceptable, communication was poor, and I often felt that my concerns were dismissed. I also felt that they underestimated my knowledge and did not always provide me with clear or accurate information about my case, leaving me confused and frustrated. I repeatedly followed up on my case and sent invoices for my medical expenses. I saw three doctors, and I continued receiving calls about my hospital bills until I eventually discovered that the debt had gone to collections. Considering the injuries I sustained, my medical appointments, and the hospital expenses, I expected my attorneys to work harder to obtain a settlement that better reflected what I had gone through. Instead, I was disappointed with the amount I received, especially after attorney fees and other deductions. I am not satisfied with the work they did or the representation I received. Interestingly, their attitude seemed to improve when I showed up in person for my deposition. However, I did not feel that same level of attention afterward. From September through early October, I was repeatedly told that Sergio was out of town when I followed up about my payment. Eventually, I learned that a check could have been prepared for me earlier, which left me questioning why the process had taken so long. One of my most upsetting experiences happened during my first visit to Sergio's office. I have eczema, and he made a joke about my appearance, saying that I could have claimed I injured my face because of how hideous it looked. When I did not laugh, he told me I should laugh more because it was a joke. I found this comment disrespectful and extremely unprofessional. Sergio's final words to me were, "I hope we never see each other again, and if we do, I'm here at your service." After this experience, I can confidently say I would never return to this firm. I do want to acknowledge Lului, if I remember her name correctly, because she was kind to me and was an exception to my otherwise disappointing experience. I genuinely question the positive five-star reviews because my personal experience was very different. I felt poorly informed, disrespected, and dissatisfied with how my case was handled. I expected professionalism, clear communication, accurate information, and attorneys who would genuinely advocate for my best interests. If you are considering hiring this firm, I strongly encourage you to do your research, ask questions, and make sure you understand your fees and settlement deductions before making a decision. I wish I had researched more carefully before choosing legal representation, and I hope sharing my experience helps someone else make a more informed choice. I do not recommend working with them.
