My experience renting at 21 James St. has been nothing short of a nightmare. When I first moved in, the unit was handed to me in a deplorable condition--dirty, unpainted, and clearly never properly inspected before I received the key. It was evident that no effort was made to ensure the unit was even livable. Maintenance requests were routinely mishandled, with issues left unresolved or completed incorrectly. I've also had their sub-contractors enter my unit without any prior notice, violating my privacy and leaving me with anxiety this would happen again. Communication with staff has been a constant struggle, with responses often delayed or completely unhelpful. To make matters worse, the building is frequently overrun with homeless individuals, and the property management company does nothing to address it. I've had multiple packaged stollen and they've offered absolutely no assistance. The parking garage is disgusting and smells like garbage as has garbage all over the place and it's very clear that no real effort is made to maintain the property or ensure the safety and comfort of residents. This company's lack of professionalism, care, and basic customer service is beyond frustrating. I would strongly advise anyone considering renting from them to look literally anywhere else.

The situation is that my monthly rent amount prior to the increase was $1,191. On the effective month of the increas, CLV Group Inc. started deducting $1,1246.41 which is obviously more than 2.5%. On two occasions I requested an explanation re the calculation without any response. CLV Group Inc. closed their in-person office 485 Bank St. Perhaps because they don't want to deal with face to face complaints. Again, when looking for a rental, make sure you stay away from CLV Group Inc. (173 Cooper St.)

We waited forever at the property for her to show up! We talked to one of the tenants afterwards and they told us that two of the maintenance guys were really nice and did their job but also hated their job because the management doesn't know how to manage! LOL! Also, if you have ANY type of issue, big or small, don't expect the manager sending someone over right away. Wait between 2 weeks and never for maintenance. So we ran!!

They would either be late or not have the appropriate paperwork/information with them. We managed to find a place we liked but then were given the wrong information regarding prices and estimated hydro costs (he said about $150 a month, last month it was $900--electric heating). The appliances provided in the unit are all old and not at all energy efficient. Any time we had a problem arise we would have to call and email the office multiple times before we would even get a response, much less get the problem resolved. Furthermore, they forgot to inform us of 7 viewings they had set up one Sunday and only called us about 1/2 hour before the viewings. The technicians and repair people are the only nice people we have dealt with in this company. Incredibly unprofessional and unorganized all around. Do not rent from them! Moving out of one of their properties was the best decision we ever made!
