Path Of The Gods - Part of the stairs down from Nocelle to Positano

An absolute must when in the Amalfi Coast. The hardest part was getting to the start - which…read morehonestly wasn't terrible. We started in Bomerano and hiked to Nocelle, then from Nocelle, walked back to Positano where we're staying. To get from Positano to Bomerano, we took a 30 min ferry to Amalfi, and then a 45 min bus up to Bomerano. Walked about 10-15 minutes to the start of the trail. Hike is about 3.5 miles. Because Bomerano is already at pretty high elevation, the hike is mostly downhill and really not too strenuous. There is a point where you reach a sign and the trail splits right/left. When you reach this point, the left side follows the designated Path of the Gods while the right side is the "alternate" Path of Gods - at a higher elevation. We took the right path and it was really beautiful. The paths eventually meet about 1-1.5 miles later, but honestly either direction you take, I don't think you can go wrong. There are like 1700 stairs down from Nocelle to Positano (which was kind of tough after hiking 3.5 miles), but we made it back safely and loved the whole journey! Highly highly recommend!

The organizers were prompt with their communication and kept us to date via WhatsApp. We were staying in Sorrento and were picked up at the Piazza Tasso, near to where we were staying. There were multiple groups meeting at the location, but the organizers quickly called everyone together, separated, then Shepard'd us onto the correct bus. The trip to the town next to the Path of the Goods trail took us about 90mins, at which point we were given 20mins to stretch our feet, grab coffee before the start of the trek. We were split into groups, with my lot falling under the instructor, Johnny (Giovanni Gargiulo) who was amazing throughout our hike. Their version of the hike formed a loop which took trekkers through all the major points, while letting them experience the full hike if you wanted to go the extra lengths (down the final 1000 or so stairs to Positano). We were given hiking poles to help with general stability, at which point we briefly met the Shepard who we'd eat with later. We saw his goats get released and met a few of them along the trail. There are amazing views throughout the walk, from old abandoned houses and farming landscapes to the stunning Amalfi coastlines below. On our way back to the town, we stopped by the Shepards hut and ate lunch with him and his dogs. The food was all freshly prepared and locally sourced, including the great goat's cheese! He performed a song for us, we drank, saluted each other and continued the hike back to the town. The final steps and slopes to return to the town were the hardest. On return to the town, we were all given 20-30mins to relax, regenerate and ready up for our trip back to Sorrento. All in all, it was well worth the money and was a great chance to look back into the lives of the farmers of these coastlines. Highly recommended.

I've kayaked all over the world and this might have been my top favorite kayaking adventure ever…read more Kayaking along the Amalfi coastline was a workout. I mean seriously. A workout. I lift weights 3x a week and I was still sore from my fingertips and arms, shoulders, and back. My whole upper body got quite a workout in those 3 hrs. -The water was very choppy from just the fact that it's the sea, but all the boats make it even more so. This was not a kayaking adventure for the weak and I'd never recommend for a non swimmer. The waves could overturn your kayak and although you're wearing a life jacket, if you can't swim, that situation wouldn't be fun. A 3 hr adventure cost €69 per person. You meet near the Amalfi Port. We had a car and chose to drive there and park. Amalfi fills up very fast. We arrived at 8:30am and there were plenty of spaces at BERMA parking, but by 8:45, every space was taken. We arrived early and grabbed croissants and cappuccinos before our 10am time slot. Amalfi is nice to enjoy in the early hrs before the town explodes with people. Nice guides. Good equipment. Stunning views. And the Italian men were nice to look at.

I recommend the ferry, unless you want the great exercise from walking the 400 steps down. One of the guy's name was Antonio and he was really nice and really funny. The other guys name was tiny tony. My wife and my daughter were on it and they were in the back of the group so tiny tony pulled them in and according to my wife, "he saved her". Antonio and Tiny Tony explained all about the villages and it was really interested. Also, there was no way I would have made it if he didn't teach us how to do it. Then we started going in the the gulf and he explained to us which side to go on. Also some people were falling behind so Little Tony helped them and Antonio helped us. We had a great time kayaking and then we reached a beach and they let us take a break. During the break they gave us a towel, crackers and bananas. We also got to jump off a 12ft rock. Also they made some funny jokes. It was very hard work so make sure your not tired for the tour! It was so much fun and I totally recommend you doing it. The staff was phenomenal and it was very organized. If your looking for some good views and a great tour this is a good thing to do.

This beautiful beach is located in the cliffside village of Positano in southern Italy. The best way to visit here is to take a ferry from nearby cities such as Naples, Sorrento, Amalfi, etc. Otherwise you'll spend close to 1.5 hours driving through some winding and hairpin turns from the nearest airport in Naples. The beach is located about 250 ft. below the closest road that allows cars, so expect to do a lot of hiking as you navigate your way through the tiny pedestrian only streets visiting shops, restaurants, and cafes. Parking is impossible here! Most of the beach here is private, so expect to spend 25 euros to rent a tiny sunbed packed in tightly next to some stranger. The small portion of the beach that is public is filled tightly with tourists marking their spot with a beach towel. The beach itself has tiny pebbles, so be sure to wear water shoes. During the day this place is packed with day trippers visiting. HOWEVER, from the early evening till mid morning you will have the place to yourself and enjoy this natural beauty. I highly recommend renting a boat on the pier and taking it out for a few hours to enjoy the blue waters and gorgeous views. That's the best way to experience this place! Overall I was really impressed the with the beauty of Positano. Such a fun place to visit with gorgeous views, great weather and beautiful crystal clear blue waters. Expect to pay high prices for restaurants and hotels here and dealing with crowds during the day. I definitely can see why the Amalfi Coast is one of the most beautiful places to visit on the planet!

The view of Positano city with Dome is magnificent. And yes it is always full of tourists.

We walked across the sandy part, which was mostly really fine sand, that retained heat very well. I had to put my sandals back on at one point because it was so hot. Then there's a little area of all stones, which amazed me that people set up their towels on. I would hate to lay on that and it was hard to walk on it without shoes. As you approach the water, it slopes down a lot and turns into a slightly coarser sand than the previous sand. Super interesting and something I haven't really seen before. The free area is much larger than I thought it would be and is surrounded by beach clubs with plentiful chairs. The water was so nice and gentle. I can see why it was full, even though it was fairly cold. There are showers and stuff but they are in the middle of the sand, which I thought was weird. You'd think they'd be closer to the sidewalk. Didn't really matter though. The texture of this sand was easy to remove from your skin, even wet.
