Came here to be evaluated while sick. I scheduled an appointment online and was seen pretty soon after my arrival. The medical tech who did my vitals and performed the tests was very personable and kind. They were able to do tests for flu/covid/strep. The Dr. then came in to give results, etc. and she was pretty cut and dry. I would go here again if needed especially for the convenience. Making an online appointment is key! read more

If you want a professional correct Diagnoises doctor visit - DO NOT GO to this Urgent Care on Little Creek Road.. The Urgent Care on Granby Street (Wards Corner) is a good place to go.. This Nurse Practioner NP, he is not a DR at Little Creek Road is terrible. I am an 80, with a lung condition. It was a Sunday and I woke up with lung issue starting .If a med condition starting does not get treated for me quick its bad. If I dont get on an antibiotic quickly its gets severe. He Refused to give any antibiotic and it turned into pneumonia by Tues AM. He then save a Cough Suppressant and prednizone. He Suppressed a Cough and I am a COPD patient. If you think the new name of the Velocity Urgent Care is the only change, think again. I recently took my daughter to the Urgent Care for severe dehydration in response to suffering from the flu. My first instinct was to take her to the ER, but I didn't want to overtax the ER, so I initially called the Urgent Care to ask if it would be appropriate to bring her in to their facility. After calling, no lie, ten times over the course of an hour with NO RESPONSE, I brought in my daughter to be seen. We waited in the waiting room alongside a woman and her son who appeared to have been waiting for a while. They were speaking Spanish. I watched the entire waiting room empty, fill up and empty again while this mother and teen son sat waiting patiently to be seen. I finally went up to the desk to check when we would be taken back, and overheard the front desk staff realize that the mother and son had been forgotten about, and that they simply required a sports physical. Once we were taken to the back area to be seen, we were well taken care of by a very young woman who appeared to be in high school. She was very efficient and provided good care. My daughter was tested for COVID, strep and the flu, all of which came back negative. My daughter was extremely lethargic and the wide smiling, dismissive male PA came into the room to tell us that there was no way to provide her with fluids because they were not equipped to do that at their facility. Which we would have known had the front desk ANSWERED THE PHONE for the hour that I had called. On his way out, he suggested that perhaps my daughter was suffering from meningitis and recommended that we go to the ER. Ultimately we were admitted to a Sentara ER (Princess Anne) that cost an additional copay and determined that my daughter had Influenza B and required two bags of IV fluids. I don't understand why the two facilities within the same hospital system charged two separate copays, which wouldn't have been required had the Urgent Care simply answered their phone. I will not return to this Urgent Care. It's janky as hell. read more

I would not recommend this "Urgent Care" facility...you have to make an appointment. I'm 3 days post surgery on my heart and got a high fever. My cardiologist told me to go have an X-ray of my chest done & a blood panel. Make my appt online, answer all the non-pertinent questions they had, NOTHING about the reason for my visit. So... I get there and the girl says "oh, we don't have X-ray equipment here. They should've told you that." Um, say what? What kind of UC place doesn't have xray machines?? And who is "they"? You have to make an appt thru their website. Ridiculous to think they call themselves urgent care when you can't walk in and be treated. read more

Went to the urgent care to get a physical and to also get my ear looked at. When I walked in I was not greeted in a friendly manner. I was informed that they were not able to do the physical but they could do other physicals. Also you apparently need an appointment to get seen which I did not know. I do not recommend this urgent care. Needless to say the person behind the front desk was rude. I left without even checking in or waiting for them to give me an appointment. I went to a different urgent care down the road a little ways that was friendly and very professional they even had clean the facilities and you did not need an appointment be seen. read more

We've been going here for years when in need and they have just gotten better. The entire staff is friendly. They've recently upgraded their technology and it's FAST. I had to go here today (stupid bronchitis) and instead of the horrid WAIT at other places, I was in and out in 45 minutes. You can even check in online now to make your wait even shorter. I highly recommend if you can't get in to your regular doc. read more

The change over from Sentara to Velocity is a ruff one pertaining to medical records that were in Sentara. Essentially with the current electronic medical your starting as if there is no pervious history. This is at all location, but once you have visited once your go to go, except no access to Sentara electronic medical records. Staff was kind and courteous. Same routine as any other urgent care. (I have visited 2 different location this month) Same place, new name, same insurance accept, online appointment allow if they have some available. Just only the electronic medical recording not connected with Sentara. read more

My poor niece took a fall off her bike. We took there for x-rays at night. PA Krissi Williams diagnosed her on the report with a nondisplaced fracture of her humerus but said she would have to wait for the radiologist and Ortho MD to confirm in the morning. This poor kid waited all night and morning in a sling. The next morning the radiologist and doctor both said the x-rays were completely normal, but this idiot PA Krissi said they could be wrong and to keep her in a sling and follow up with her own doctor at home. Mind you we are on a vacation and to keep a kid in a sling for NO reason is just plain cruel. Do not go this place. If you have to deal with PA Krissi...walk right out or ask to speak to someone else. In the end, x-rays were sent to one of the top Orthopedic doctors in NYC who also confirmed how incompetent this PA is!!!! read more

The service and care from start to finish was exceptional. The office runs very efficiently. They even have a check in system where you can request a text notification 20 mins before your scheduled appointment. I was able to wait in the car with my dog instead of in the waiting room. All of the medical staff were highly skilled, compassionate and caring. If Dr. Kaado had a private practice, I think he would be swamped with new patient requests. read more

Worst experience ever . I am 17 years old , and they refused to see me . My grandmother was with me , and they said if my guardian was not there I could not be seen . . My temperature was exactly 103.8 and they still denied me . My grandmother told the manager this was life threatening situation and the manager proceeded to say that my situation was not life threatening , and I needed to leave . Horrible experience . Waited 3.5 hours waiting to be seen. Called back to get vitals and sent back into the waiting area because they had no open rooms..... okkk. I spent almost 5 hours (the rest in a room), there with a 3yr old and saw the doctors for probably a total of 5 minute's for a sprained ankle... He didnt even act professional, the female doctor there is nice and has great social skills. While I realize it's a first come first serve facility and that causes long wait times. Went to urgent care and scheduled an appointment ahead of time the day of. They pushed back my appointment 40 minutes because they were running late. And now we have already been here for 2 hours my boyfriend is still in the back. They x-rayed his hand and the doctor hasn't come back for an hour. What's the point of scheduling an appointment when they aren't going to get you in and out any sooner? Won't come back here again. read more

My wife and I were in a car accident and visited Sentara urgent care on east little creek road just before Christmas of 2015. We went there to get a general check up after the accident and to find out if anything was seriously wrong with us. We were in a great deal of pain and were told Sentara was the place to go. When we showed up there the process for checking in was standard but after clarifying twice the woman entering our information still spelled my wife's name incorrectly, which is not a huge deal but was a preview for the rest of our visit. The nurse who was checking our vitals seemed to be in a rush to say the least. She asked where our preferred pharmacy was and since we are from out of state we did not have one and asked her for the closest one. She replied shortly 'I live in Virginia beach'. We asked someone else. Once in exam room we waited a reasonable amount of time to see the doctor. The doctor(Dr. Anthony R. Russo) came in and asked us why we were there and what our symptoms were. While explaining the incident the doctor interrupted us multiple times to say "yes, I understand" "uh, huh. uh, huh" And told us that the medication he would be prescribing would help out. He then left the room. This conversation lasted no more than 5 minutes and was incredibly rushed and unprofessional to say the least. I felt like I was talking to a Used Car salesman. Another nurse came in with our prescriptions which were explained to be "the same as Aleve" and a muscle relaxer. The nurse quickly gave us instructions as to when to take the medication and was walking out when we asked to see the doctor again because we had more questions regarding other injuries that we were not able to even bring up in front of the doctor before due to the rush he was in. When he came back (20 or so minutes later) he looked at what we brought his attention to and without even touching us told us we would be fine and 'keep an eye' on our injuries. He left again without any instructions as to how to take care of ourselves and no offer for things like braces or slings.He said he would add these injuries to our notes and never returned. When we asked a nurse if he was coming back she told us he was already seeing another patient. We asked the nurse for any specific instructions for rest or diet and her response was "I don't know, do anything a normal person would do to stay healthy... umm Vitamin C never hurts and keep hydrated" This was by far the most unprofessional visit to any medical facility we've been to in all of our lives. We don't leave bad reviews and understand people have their 'off-days' but this was so bad we felt we had no choice but to leave this review. We will absolutely, under no circumstance, ever be returning to this facility again. It pains me to even label this man a doctor, but Dr. Russo is NOT the person you want to take care of you. read more

If so could give 0 stars I would. Today I had a bad experience. I normally get my TB test for work there and decided to schedule online for faster service. That does not matter at all. I was at least 10 to 15 minutes early. Sat there and watched them call a patient that came in later than me. When asked why am I being skipped? Thee lady replied " oh I scheduled on line." So did I. I asked for a manager. She has left for the day. Can call 1800. I have a preemie that was waiting in the car with her dad. So I was in a hurry. I sat there and watched the sign with your name on it and watched them skip me thirty minutes in. Then to insult my intelligence they switched the name below mine. Moved it in front. The most discourteous obnoxious unprofessional office staff....My child's father who does NOT have custody brings the child in to be seen during his visitation time last Friday night and you treat me like I'm some stranger when I bring her insurance card in this morning. I will never come back to this urgent care; this office is not representative of the Sentara care or providers or facilities....sub standard employees in this building, refused to take my child's insurance info over the phone refused to provide copies of her discharge paperwork and refused to update her medical record and give me a copy of such...Office Manager was out of the office today. Nurse refused to provide privacy information to validate the denial of providing me discharge paperwork; I will never come back to this practice. I've seen dr Russo for over 10 years and he wouldn't come to speak to me about the issue....that's great...this location is the worst read more
