She did not show me around the gym and neglected any introductions. I was very unimpressed and what I saw of the gym looked sketchy. Definitely will not pursue this option for my son, and wish there was another toddler gymnastics center in the Amarillo area, with more professionalism and ideally a better facility.

Sometimes you'll find a homeschool family in the mix. They don't advertise which I think is good so it won't be over crowded. Typically there is a coach or someone familiar with the facility and enjoys bonding with kids. It's $5 for two hours for kids over 18 months. Pros - plenty of parking - Huge facility (4 trampolines, bouncy house, two running trampolines - one with a foam pit and one with a pad. Of course there is a wall of mirrors) - Bathrooms in the facility

It's a mix of bags, ring, and then mix of burpees high knees and etc. The actual gym is somewhat small. There is no calf equipment, and just the basics are there. The gym gets super hot from the body heat from the classes, so it's guaranteed that you'll get a good sweat on if you go to workout there. The daycare situation is okay, I think the hours are longer than most. However the daycare is just some tables chairs and a TV I have and seen people donating stuff to the daycare to give the children something to do or play with, but they keep the toys locked up. They do have their own brand of merchandise, so tons of clothes and hats. They also do have pre workout, and fat burners.

These instructors push them hard and are very encouraging. Dylan (Dillon?) was very helpful in letting me come observe. The man who helped me when I walked in was so very helpful, and gave me a tour. Amarillo Martial Arts is a dojo that teaches many of the essential life lessons that help us all to…read morebecome better as people. Sensei Gray gives students focused and individualized direction in the dojo. Teamwork and participation in class teaches students lessons that can be utilized outside the dojo. Sensei encourages self defense, but not hurting others unless a threat to their person. He teaches children the importance of obedience to parents and teachers and why this is beneficial to them. Sensei explains why there are rules in place in our everyday lives and that it is important to follow the rules. Honesty and telling the truth are taught and expected of the students. While there is a healthy amount of competition, emphasis isn't necessarily on winning (though it is celebrated as an accomplishment). Sensei directs every student to try their best at everything they do, both inside and outside of the dojo. Not only does Sensei teach respect and courtesy, but he practices these traits everyday in class with his students. Sensei is available for lessons outside of class should a student want time to be worked with individually on specific techniques. There are tournaments that students can sign up for and participate in. Approximately twice a month, students practice sparring in class. Sensei makes an effort to know each child, their strengths and weaknesses, and their best learning style. He works with each student and helps them to feel confident and strong. My son has been practicing with Sensei Gray since he was 5, and he has been training more formally in the past year. I cannot recommend this Sensei and his dojo more. We tried other organized sports in the area and were disappointed by coaches only playing those who needed the least coaching. We were relieved to find that Sensei was more concerned with my son as an impressionable child who deserved a teacher who believed in him. We are beyond thankful for the lessons that our son is coming away with and is able to utilize not just in the dojo, but at home and school as well.

Greatly appreciate the help from Sensei Gray and my daughter enjoys it very much. Once she moved up to Yellow Belt she has been motivated to go further. Paying attention is a leading aspect in this facility and something my daughter needed much improvement on and we can see her grow and become more respectful. These days it has come down to the necessity of martial arts for all children as they can protect themselves.
