A disaster of a home care agency and I have known several . They care more about their staff than their customers. They complain about your home , your pets , and seem to feel that they are delivering some kind of exceptional service , when in fact they do very little for their hourly rate. Complain , Complain , Complain is what they do well.. It makes you wonder who's servicing who. They hire under motivated ,whining employees who don't have skills or abilities to do basic caregiving for ADLs. Steven , the co owner needs to be less compulsive about the care of his caregivers and develop customer relations skills. Instead of criticizing the cleanliness of the client's home offer to assist with cleaning and take into consideration that standards differ from home to home for many circumstances. I had home care needs that were constantly put second to the complaints of his less than adequate caregivers. "Senior Helpers" better change your name to Senior Dumpers. read more

My wife and I went on vacation to Las Vegas and needed help with my wife who is in a wheelchair with a spinal chord injury. I called Senior Helpers for help while we were there. Jeff who answered the phone when I called was do professional and set me up with a home healthcare specialist named Delana who was always on time and very experienced. I found this company in 2019 when my dad was recovering from yet another bout of pneumonia and I just really needed a break from my 24/7 care of him. Some of the staff were better than others and I was comfortable knowing he was being looked after while I spent up to 7 hours away from him getting respite. Fast forward to COVID hell peak summer and when I was falling apart and everything was just too much, I called desperate for a much needed 6 hours away & was told that they no longer did occasional respite as COVID created problems with them trusting that their staff were walking into a COVID free home. They wanted me to commit to several days a month every month or they couldn't help me or my father. I explained that there was very few places for me to go several times a month for hours to get a break considering that there was peaks in cases etc but could we go get tested and then be ok to get services? Nope no dice. I thanked them for their time and hung up and cried for an hour. I understand protecting staff and other clients but to deny respite for a few hours and then tell me if you change your mind call us back is sad. How could I justify increasing my father's exposure by having someone repeatedly in the house every month masked though they would be just to get a break? I couldn't. So I still am doing this alone. If you can afford the risk for your loved one, they would still be a decent choice I suppose. And maybe in a few months they could change their policy again as the vaccines roll out. But I feel too hurt to try them again. read more

I am only now able to write this review as it was too painful to do so prior. We met with Steve in person at a rehab center and also stayed in touch through an extended Ltac hospital stay. My father was very sick, his health was declining rapidly but we had hope to bring him home with 24/7 in home care. We went though absolute agony and heartbreak watching these rehabilitation centers and specialty hospitals treat sick HUMAN BEINGS as less than, we begged people to be kind to him when we had to go to work, we rushed to be by his bedside every moment possible because we didn't trust the care at these places. When Steve met with my brother and I he spoke with kindness, he told us his story about his dad, he offered to help. We were so deep into a medical fox hole that we felt like we were drowning. The smallest bit of kindness is priceless when you're heart is breaking over a sick loved one. Steve Came into my dads room and spoke to him with respect, he looked over his wounds, he immediately asked the staff at the rehab center for leg pads to avoid bed sores, he actually cared. We lost my dad before we were ever able to use Senior helpers but Steve's kindness will always remain special to us. read more

Senior Helpers helped my Mom, and was so professional, kind, reliable, and went above and beyond in the KINDNESS category. When it was time to hire help for my dearest friend who was in hospice, there was NO ONE ELSE but Senior Helpers that I would trust with her care. They came out the same day of my call and went to meet her, the same day. They were available via phone call for me 24/7. Her care was their priority. The day of my friends passing, they made sure her caregiver was by her side all day. They adjusted the schedule around to make sure her caregiver could be there for my friend. Senior Helpers is caring and professional and affordable priced. I can hardly walk because of joint problems and I need help with standing and walking, performing errands, shopping at grocery stores (all stores), dropping off/picking up prescriptions from pharmacy and doctor's office, picking up mail from mailbox and post office, house cleaning, etc. They send certified medically trained personnel, they can medically help you with and supervise you if you need little, to total assistance. You may be restricted to bed. They are professional, kind, nice, and helpful. You would have to call for all details I always thought I would have to use several agencies to meet my needs; however, they meet all my needs. The gentleman in charge, Steve, is always accessible for your comments or needs and so are the staff. I have been with them a long time and I will use them for a very long time. Steve, the owner is very involved with the company. He is hands on, and the entire office staff are always there to help us when needed. All employees must meet their guidelines and follow patient care exactly as laid out by the management. They not only care about the clients we serve but the employees as well. I can't say enough about this company. We hired them last year for my father who lives alone and needed some assistance. The staff from the start has been caring, compassionate, understanding with difficult situations, and assisted us in emergencies. We don't live in the same state and my husband is currently deployed so getting to my father in a pinch isn't possible. We have had Senior helpers assist us twice when my father was hospitalized, they were available immediately, even helped us board his dog! We also have them coming multiple days a week to take our father shopping, help him around the house and provide companionship. My Dad is not the easiest person and unfortunately has mild cognitive deficits that can be really challenging at times but all of the staff at Senior Helpers has been so understanding and make us feel that our Dad is getting the support he desperately needs. I want to say a special thank you to Jeff, Steve, Scott, Teresa, and Rick. Without you all we wouldn't know what to do! Steve, the owner of Senior Helpers, was referred to me by Altus Hospice (see their review) to help care for my terminally ill 74 year old mother. I first spoke with Steve over the phone and immediately knew I would like him and his company. He spoke of compassion and dignity and said that while his employees are all certified to provide care, the most important quality he looks for in his caregivers is character. He wants to know everyone he employs will care for their patients as if they were their own parents. Then when he came to my home to meet my mother and me, he again showed such compassion and caring. We had set up their service to help assist me in the evenings with my mother so I could help my own family, but unfortunately my mother passed before that schedule started. I did use one of his caregivers two days in a row to help give me a break and she was wonderful.
