With confidence, I called the office to inquire about the interview I believed was scheduled for 12. However, the receptionist stated that there were no interviews and my name was not in the system, doing so in an unprofessional tone. I am not sure about the one bad review here but Senior Helpers and Pete the owner went out of their way to get care to my mom when I brought her home from Missouri unexpectedly. Both my husband and I work full time and needed to find someone to keep mom company and get her familiar with her PT/OT exercises, help with bathing and cooking. It took a couple different care givers until we found the right match but Pete personally introduced each one to my mom. They provided care to her for over 6 months until her husband could move here- they were a real blessing to our family. Sure we had a couple no shows and a few problems here and there but Pete was on it and dealt with everything professionally- Connie too (in the office) is wonderful. I think the key is great communication and being reasonable- and you have to ask for what you need! Pete was available evenings and weekends always to take a call- Where do you find that kind of service today? We also use Pete professionally through my job and he is a great vendor to work with and he and his staff go out of their way to be accommodating. I can't say enough good things about them. The owner of the company came out to interview us and then the owner came back again when the caregiver came out. Wow, I have never ran into this before. They really set themselves apart from all the other agencies. My dad is blind in one eye and 92 and needed special attention. Also, they came on a Saturday which is hard to find. read more

The owner is quite rude. The dollar is obviously more important than the people. He is arrogant , talks over you and doesn't listen. I felt like he kept talking over me, throwing suggestions that would only profit him as opposed the true needs of my dad. I did not want to use Senior Helpers initially over a year ago - solely due to the experience I had with him alone,because he was such a snotty person , very know it all attitudeand I had such a treacherous conversation with him. When I pointed out I felt he was being a little aggressive and slightly rude, he tried to convince me he was being quite "cordial". But as a last resort and immediate need for my dad returning home. I reached out to this company again and specifically told the gal I would not work with them if Pete still worked there. When I learned he was the owner and still around I didn't even want to go any further.The gal had promised I would not have to deal with Pete at all. The lady on the phone was quite sweet and helpful, seemed genuinely concerned about helping my dad as opposed to calculating charges as I spoke. She was so great at convincing me to give them another chance. Honestly she was the reason I even gave them another chance. The other gentleman I met was also very kind and helpful. He seems like he has a passion for what he does and was very warm. But they dropped the ball anyway. The home care people were subpar. They were late a lot of the time, could not communicate well and did not take any initiative. And even when there were plenty of things that could have been taken care of, there was a lot of sitting, looking at their phone, not even engaging in small talk with my father. How hard is that!? At the basic minimum I thought they could handle just keeping another human being Company. It's a shame someone like that runs this kind of service, it is blatantly obvious clients are just dollar signs to this man. Even the home care workers seemed they were just there for the check. Someone in this business should know how to speak to people and not be condescending to people seeking help. My dad has a neighbor who just started with their service as well, I gave her my experience with short term they worked with my father. She said the home care workers have been great so far but did agree the owner was a schmooze and had a condescending tone. Maybe she will have a better experience than I did. read more
