My husband was in the rehab section of Paramount of South Hills. He received excellent,…read moreindividualized care. Every member of his team treated him with respect and compassion. The entire staff at Paramount were pleasant and helpful and you can tell that they all enjoy their work and that they truly care about the patients. The nursing staff were excellent! While I hated for my husband to have to be there, the obvious dedication and compassion of the staff made me feel comfortable leaving him in their capable hands. My husband received speech therapy, and, in the short time that he was there, we noticed definite improvements in his speech and comprehension. Occupational therapy and physical therapy also were great--both in the services provided and the advice as to how to adapt his environment and his activities. The facility is very clean, the rooms are spacious, and the dining and lounge areas were comfortable and inviting. My husband enjoyed a variety of foods and was provided with alternatives if he did not want what was on the standard menu. I'm hoping he won't expect that same variety and flexibility now that he's home. If you are in need of a rehabilitation facility, I highly recommend Paramount South Hills.

This is a shame because this is a nice facility with nice staff members but ever since Oakdale…read moreSeniors Alliance purchased this facility, the food situation has been a disaster! They frequently run out of food, despite having cut the portions to 1/3 to 1/2 of what the portions were previously. They are often not nutritionally balanced and the quality is poor. The facility prints out monthly menus but often what is served is not what is actually served. They keep stating that they are transitioning to a much better food provider (Metz) but it has been at least 3 months and nothing has improved. I am making a complaint to the Office of Long Term Living's Bureau of Human Services Licensing - for the thousands of dollars a month my Mother pays to be here, she and the rest of these residents deserve better.

They are cheap and they take very sick people - up to a level 6 (most assisted living places take…read moreup to a level 3) but do not have the staff to take care of them. They have something like 38 rooms and only 3 aids if they all show up (often only 2 do). If someone needs only meals and meds and maybe someone to tell them what month it is, the place is probably OK. If they need more help than that they will learn that pushing the "help" button doesn't do much. There has been big staff turnover in 2010 because the staff hates the place too.
