Such a learning experience here, with dvds and books to gain know. I love coming here with my child…read moreand we spend time playing and read books. It's child friendly with a lot to explore. It's a nice hangout place too and the maker space is one of my favorite programs they have. This library takes care of the community!! They also have a shelf where you can check out items and apps to watch movies or read audio books.

We are fortunate to have such a great public library. It's a joy to be here. I will not be…read moresurprised if someone tells me it's one of the best public library in the world of a city this size. I particularly love the documentary film collections on DVDs. I don't have Netflix and amazon film services ... I don't have television cables either. I really don't need it. I don't have time for it. This is how I give the finger to evil multinational corporations. I take advantage of the library catalog and use its hold service to my heart's content. I really hope the public libraries like this will continue to thrive. Those DVDs educated me far more than anything I learned in grad schools. Seriously. I've been trying to checkout a state park pass from Library of Things ... it has not been successful. They told me that they only have 4 passes and 10 in the entire library system. I will keep trying! Maybe I will get lucky one day! Hey, I heard a public library in San Francisco has sewing machines! I would love a sewing and knitting/crocheting workshops here ...helping me give more fingers to the corporations by sewing my own underwears ... why not? Maybe you can cooperate with Sew Green to make it happen ... My only "complaint" is that I wish the purchase request process was more transparent .. i.e. if I could get a feedback from the librarian as to the possibility for the purchase of a particular item I want to borrow, and receiving a notification when the item is purchased ... that would be delightful ... but then I know that we can set the catalog search parameter to alert us to the items when it is cataloged in the library system, so no complaints ... Please keep up the wonderful work! The library is one of the best ways our tax money is put to use!

Cute little town, with a ton of history. A bedrock of the women's rights movement, crazy to have it…read moreso close. Interesting architecture, and some unique shops like vintage teddy bear repair. There are a few nicely rated restaurants in the area but they seem to only be open for dinner. Nice short little river walk, and I've heard the falls nearby are beautiful too.

Seneca Falls, the gateway to the Finger Lakes, is a town steeped in history with all the modern…read moreelements. Its not too big or too small, its a perfect size to have a few coffee shops, real parks, bookstores and more. There's a lot of water around. Lakes full in fact. This played a major role as the town developed. The early settlers knew water would be critical, and they decided to build here. Seneca Falls became a village around 1830. They built canal locks around the rapids, and by 1830 the canal was connected to the Erie Canal, which of course lead to much larger markets. Seneca Falls is named after rapids (falls), and some companies located there for the waterpower the falls would generate. The railroad connected them to more of the world by 1840. There are companies that remain in Seneca Falls today, some having worldwide impact like Gould Pumps. In addition to industry, there were some social movements happening in Seneca Falls. There was significant support for the abolitionists, there were stops for the Underground Railroad, and of course the first women's convention was held here, making Seneca Falls known as the "Birth of the Women's Rights Movement". Today its a tourist attraction, some come for the history. Others for the lakes. More for the Montezuma Refuge. Still others to visit students at the Chiropractic College, one of the best in the US. Its also a great place to visit "just because". Cute town, easy walking, friendly. I saw a sign that said it was also the inspiration for the town in "Its a Wonderful Life", not sure of that's true though. 5 stars because these small towns are great to visit. Here in the NE there is a lot of history, the people tend to be friendly and the environment pleasant. 1950
