Rating: 5/5 Stars If you're heading to Sports Basement…read moreBerkeley to gear up for the season, do yourself a favor and ask for BRANDON C. I came in needing a full "head-to-toe" setup for winter sports, and Brandon provided the kind of elite, professional service that is rare to find. His technical knowledge of snowboards, skis, and bindings is extensive; he doesn't just know the specs, he understands how the gear actually performs on the mountain. What really stood out, however, was his approach. He took the time to listen to my specific needs and concerns, making me feel both seen and heard throughout the process. I walked out (after 2.5 hours that flew by) not only with the right equipment but with the confidence I needed to get back out there. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a beginner, I'd recommend Brandon C. to anyone. He's a true professional who knows his craft inside and out. Thank you again Brandon C and SB and NIN.

Buying snowboard boots is usually a daunting process for me because of my wide feet, but Brandon made it easy. His knowledge of boot fit and foot shapes was incredible, and he patiently walked me through what would work and what wouldn't - no pressure, just genuinely helpful guidance. I ended up with a pair of K2 Maysis boots, took them up to the slopes this past week, and they were excellent. Best boot-buying experience I've had. To Sports Basement management: you've got a star on your hands. Take care of him. Five stars all around.

The The North Face Outlet Berkeley is not your run-of-the-mill outlet--it's the reason I can…read moreactually afford North Face gear, and it's what turned me into a lifelong fan. This place does require patience. You'll need to walk in circles, dig through racks, and really search. But if you're willing to put in the time, it pays off. Over the years, I've scored $10 shorts, hats and gloves, $20 sweatpants and shirts, and $40 sweatshirts and jackets. The prices have gone up a bit since the early days, but compared to retail and their standard outlet stores, but the deals are still amazing. This place is the OG. If you allow time for parking and give yourself a solid hour to browse, you're almost guaranteed to walk out with a treasure or two. At this point, I own so much North Face gear that I've been asked more than once if I'm sponsored... I wish.

It is huge with two different sides. Due to its size, there are more options of everything. I generally at least find one item when I make a trip out here. I've found a long down jacket before for the price of $60 when MSRP'd at $400. Denali and Nuptse jackets are rare to find. You will have to take your time and look at everything. Expect to be in there for 30 min to an hour if you like to sort through everything. Employees have always been nice and helpful. I always stop by when heading out to the bay or passing by. I never make a trip just to go to this store, or else you put yourself up for disappointment. It's an outlet! Like I said- hit or miss.

I usually see the same people when I go in, perhaps it's family operated? I definitely trust the guys there, they have a security guard and oftentimes, if you have too many bags you'll have to leave them by the door. There are so many different emblem T- Shirts to choose from, some larger sizes (than small), and various colors to choose from. Sweats, Back packs, discount rack, are neat too. I've worn the sweats too and they are comfortable and warm. Standard UCB designs, a staple! A must- have for winter in dorms. They also sell back packs, water bottles, mugs, and flags. And lots of fun stickers, key chains, and other accessories, too! I purchased a large yellow button with blue logo of the bear. One of a kind. An Oski Bear keychain, and a magnet with the Campanille. All things I still cherish until this day. Check them out.

Price wise, there were actually some t-shirts that were not ridiculously overpriced, and were really nice. They were sectioned off by price, so that made finding one a lot easier. Lots of clothing, but their hat and cap selection was kind of limited, but this is a very small store, so it's understandable. I was here before the Cal/Duke football game, so it was pretty crowded that day!!
