Could not be more grateful for this crew! We noticed a fuel leak in our van while stopping for gas and groceries in Williams CA and AAA was of no help. After 3 hours of waiting to hear back from AAA where I am a premier member, they said they could not find a tow truck, could not schedule one in advance for the next day, and we were on our own to find our way back home and *might* get reimbursed for the expenses. I called Selovers who is a AAA contract and within a 10 minute phone call they made a plan to pick us up, drop us at a safe hotel, keep our car safe overnight, and then picked us up the next morning from the hotel to help us get back home safely the next morning. Not only that, every employee I spoke with was respectful and generous which was much appreciated after a stressful event when AAA was rude and incompetent. Would leave zero stars if I could. Recently I l experienced the most unfair and disgusting treatment from this establishment. The lady dispatcher was extremely rude. They wrongfully withheld a car from being released so they could profit from the daily impound fees, told flat out lies when police were involved in attempting to get the car released which they claimed they didn't ever have in the first place cuz they couldn't "find it") who loses track of a car in their possession? Incompetent much? I've never been more upset and dissatisfied with a business before. They displayed racist behaviors and discrimination. read more

Humiliating experience full of lies and unethical business practices. The dispatcher of Selovers first told me my car had been towed to my house, as they have a contract with AAA and I had contacted AAA the previous night. I find this strange as AAA never notified me of this and at the time of my call they said Selovers had no drivers available. I call my neighbors to verify this and confirm my car is not home like the dispatcher stated. This is the first series of lies I was told by the dispatcher. I call AAA they tell me they never sent a driver so I panic and call Selovers back to ask if they're sure my car was on the way home but then the dispatcher once again lies to me telling me they actually don't have my car. I decided to drive to the Selovers tow yard as my gut told me something was fishy and I see my car in their tow yard, so once again I was lied to. I call their dispatcher once more and she now lies and says we have your car but CHP has placed a hold on the car. Again a huge lie as I had already spoken to CHP in the process of attempting to locate my car and they notified me they had been the ones to tow my car for leaving it unattended due to not being able to arrange a tow truck on time. But, essentially the same tow company that refused to help me the night my car broke down then only towed my car the following morning when CHP told them to in order to charge me impound fees and mileage. They are the only tow service in town and used that to take advantage of me. I explain to the secretary she is misinforming me as I was clearly told no hold by CHP and instead of apologizing or admitting to her mistakes she says we are done and hangs up. I try to reach them again and they didn't answer my calls so I have AAA and CHP contact Selovers on my behalf. I am then shockingly notified that she is saying she is going to refuse me service for cussing at her and being disrespectful when that's simply far from the truth as I was just trying to explain the situation and if anything she had an attitude towards me when I was simply trying to get my car back. She refused to give me my car that day and thus illegally withheld it from me only so they could charge me more. This is unethical and extremely inappropriate and I've informed CHP who assured me if they refused to give me the car the following day as it is illegal to call them. Selovers abused the fact that they are the only AAA partner to skew the situation and maximize the profit they could get from me. Their dispatcher lied to me repeatedly and slandered my name and abused her authority to withhold my car. I ask that she is held accountable for her actions and lies. The manager was professional once I paid my fees and I chose not to confront him about the situation out of fear they'd withhold my car illegally again. He reluctantly obliged to deliver my car which I do appreciate and I had no issues with the tow truck driver or delivery. I think that Selovers just needs to reconsider the people who represent their company when they take calls and not prey on people by abusing their advantage. read more

I am very disappointed with the experience I had today. The tow truck driver showed up wearing a Christian t-shirt, however, he was not displaying a "Christ-like" attitude. It is unfortunate that he was having a bad day but should not have taken it out on us. He complained that 81 miles was too far for him to tow us and that his fellow drivers didn't want to work since it was a "holiday weekend". However, today is only Wednesday and the weekend is not upon us yet. Then he simply got in his truck and drove away without another word to us. Very unprofessional. I broke down on Highway 20 in Williams Ca, with my dogs in 108 heat (it was a Saturday). So, I used my handy roadside service, and unfortunately they called Selover's Towing. At first Selover's told me it would be 45 minutes, after 60 minuets I called Selover's and they told me it would be another 30 minuets. After about 2 hours they showed up, the driver was very nice. However he informed me that he could not tow my car home that night because none of the drivers were available to tow it, this was confusing because he was a driver and my car was loaded on his truck. The driver asked if he could leave it in the tow yard over night and bring it Monday, I said ok. On Monday around 3:00 in the afternoon, after waiting all day I called Selover's Towing to find out when my car would be delivered. When I finally got ahold of Selover's they told me they wouldn't be bringing my car today (Monday) and it would be delivered tomorrow first thing in the morning (Tuesday). It's now Tuesday, 3:00 in the afternoon and no car. I just got off the phone with Selover's and the told me they never intended to deliver my car today and it would be coming Thursday and I would just have to deal with it. I was not planning on leaving a yelp review. However, now that Selover's has decide to be rude over the phone and act put out that they've been paid for a service they have not provided yet, I'm leaving a review. IF and that's a big if because they're not reliable, if they actually deliver my car Thursday, they will have had my car Sitting on a tow truck for six days... my house is only 50 miles and 45 minuets from them. I really wanted to like this company because the driver that picked up my car was so nice and was clearly a hard worker. ***Update*** I Just got a call from Selover's and they said they were delivering my car this evening, it's very nice that they're going to be able to bring it tonight (Tuesday eveaning around 9:00). read more

My family and I were stuck in a small town called Maxwell due to rental car issues. The roadside service contacted Selover and they were professional and accomodating. The driver JD was nice and helped us out. Another driver named Isaias called back to inform me that I left my satelite phone in the back seat of the rental car. I was very thankful for his honesty or I would have paid lots of money to replace the rental satelite phone. Contacted the owner or Manager on a Sunday and he coordinated for me to pick it up at their location in Williams. We were satisfied with both drivers integrity, professionalism and compassion during our emergency situation. read more

Oh Selover's...... I wanted to like you. I really did. But to leave me hangin? No bueno! I was travelling with my twin sis yesterday, North on I5, going from Sacramento to Orland. All of a sudden, my tire blows out! Oh no! This has never happened before and fighting the panic, we pulled over to the side of the interstate. I luckily have roadside assistance with my good ol' insurance company Geico, so called them for help. I was about 2 miles form the Williams exit, so they called Selover's to come assist with fixing my flat. Yay! I thought. I am saved, and in 30 minutes can be outta here! WRONG!!!!! I was on the side of the road for nearly 2 hours. Here's what happened: Geico called Selover's and requested assistance for me. They gave me the phone number to Selover's ( in case I needed to call them myself) and assured me they were sending a tow truck to help. They said 30 minutes. At 30 minutes exactly, I called Selover's to see if they were almost there. The lady on the phone told me that no one was on their way. The tow had been cancelled since Geico refused to give a credit card payment right away. They will not accept a later billed payment, they need money up front. So they cancelled the tow, the rep with Geico had called Selover's while on the phone with me, and told me that they would be out. WHY WASN'T I NOTIFIED OF THE CANCELATION???????? Here I am, standing on the side of the highway like a goon, waiting for a truck that wasn't on it's way? I even asked the woman with the towing company "SO you are telling me that no one is on their way to help? I have been here for over 45 minutes, and no one is on their way to help me? And you didn't bother to tell me?" "That is correct" she replied. I called Geico back ( I was not as friendly this time) and told them what happened. They contacted another local towing company, and they showed up promptly 30 minutes later, happy to help. Here is the reason for the 2 stars and not one: About an hour after I had gotten fixed (a gentleman who may have been the owner) called to see if I had received any help. I informed him that I did in fact receive help, but from another company. This gentleman apologized for what happened and had been calling to offer to come help if still needed.( Though it was 3 hours after the fact) Apparently, when he heard about what happened, he felt bad for just leaving us stranded. He explained the mix up in billing and payment methods form Geico, and apologized again. Thank you sir, for your concern. I really do appreciate that, but 3 hours for 2 young females to be stranded on the highway is unacceptable. read more

My mother, my fiancé, my 3-month old daughter and I were on our way from Salem, OR to San Francisco, CA when we started to feel a shimmy from our front end. We pulled into a rest area that was 2 hours from anyone we knew, and discovered that 3 of 5 bolts had sheared off- we were well and duly stranded. After an hour of back-and-forth with our insurance company, a truck from Selover's arrived to help us. The driver, Chris, was incredibly helpful and understanding, and he not only towed us to nearby Colusa, he called two different mechanics - at 11 o'clock at night! - to make sure we could get it fixed the next day. I cannot say enough about how helpful he was; he really saved our sanity! This is what customer service is all about. read more
