Oscar's soles are better than the original. Hubs will enjoy his newly freshened favorite boots for many more years. I cannot say enough nice things about how great the work is, not to mention how welcoming and smiling Oscar is when he greets a customer. I will go back again the next time I need this kind of work, it was worth the 45-minute trip to Tarboro.

If "good for nothing" was a business, it would be Gary's Shoe Repair!!…read moreMy visits to Gary's Shoe Repair have been a complete waste of time, and shows there complete lack of capabilities. On two separate occasions, I brought in shoes for repairs that I'm confident most cobblers could easily handle. However, each time, the response from the lady at the front was a shrug and an unhelpful "there's nothing we can do, sorry!" This business is either staffed by lazy people or simply lacks the fundamental knowledge and skills to provide even basic shoe repair services. This place also operates as a combination shoe repair and disc golf shop. This gives the impression that the shoe repair aspect is not taken seriously whatsoever. It seems more like a casual venture to "make money any way they can" rather than a dedicated, professional cobbler service. If you're looking for competent shoe repair, go somewhere elsewhere!

The quality of repair is better than I have experienced at any other shop in town. Willing and capable of fixing any and everything from the cheap pair of shoes that you love and wearout often, to the really expensive, intricate pair that you might be nervous to trust someone with repairing. Incredible leather knowledge and workmanship. Many of my girlfriends will only take their designer bags here for cleaning and repair. It's our go-to for resoling my fiancée's dress shoes as well. Highly recommend this place!

I was in town for a wedding and realized that I had forgotten to get my shoes shined. They were in…read morereally rough shape! I called one shoe repair place but they didn't inspire confidence in their ability to complete the work today or do the job, at all. Next, I called Love-Way and the gentleman who answered the phone responded with enthusiasm and absolute confidence that he could both complete the refresh and get it done as soon as I could bring the shoes to him. I immediately headed over and was greeted by the same enthusiast charm that I experienced on the phone. The shop is small and very cluttered with shoes, materials, machines everywhere! This is truly a workshop! None of that fancy retail decoration. This is where work gets done! He took my shoes and asked when I wanted to pick them up. Since the wedding was in a few hours, I said I could wait, if he could do them now. He replied "I'll get on 'em, like ugly on an ape!" And his partner started working on them immediately. As I waited, other customers kept coming, bringing him more and more shoes to repair, from single pairs to laundry baskets full! Obviously, they are very popular and do good work. Sure enough, he made my shoes look better than new in a very short time and I went on my way, a very satisfied customer! See the pictures for before and after, as words don't suffice.
