I tried a one time class (3 hours) in the winter and made a snowflake and it made me want to try more classes out and learn how to do bigger pieces- and they have a lot of class variety and dates. I did their 6 week copper foil class and then a 4 week stained lead class. Kris and Lisa are both amazing instructors! I learned so much utilizing the two different techniques, and they're so helpful and knowledgable- always making themselves available to answer any questions you have. You can also use the workshop space outside of class time if you signed up for the 4 or 6 week classes (call ahead and make sure no other classes are going on). I haven't been able to do any fusing classes yet but I hear from everyone who has taken any that they're so fun. They also do repairs and sell stained glass pieces inside- They got it all!

We have tried many classes all over Austin, but I have found Amanda's has the perfect combination of letting kids be creative and having a concrete curriculum that ensures they are learning proper techniques. The classes are small and each student gets personalized instruction. It is really amazing to walk in and see all the projects the students are working on. A new student may be drawing and shading while a more advanced student next to them is painting a life-like portrait. This inspires my daughter and shows her what can be achieved with hard work and patience. I highly recommend this studio!

The storefront is very inviting and small, but honestly the perfect size. They have everything organized per artist. We took some time checking everything out before deciding on some cute coffee mugs that had a small cowboy boot stamped on the side and "yeehaw" on the bottom. Seriously so cute, and so Austin! We also bought a beautiful oil crock. I can't wait to go back and check out more pieces! Definitely a must when you have visitors in town.

I love this place as much as the kids do- it's an open invite to play and create anything they want to. The staff here is so friendly and I've seen them build a house out of cardboard (from scratch) for a little girl. We are frequent flyers here, if we have an open morning this is easily our top spot to go to. First, the play area is so fun. It's interactive, it leaves room for imagination, and it's always pretty organized. My two year old girl and four year old boy both find things to do and have fun. They have a group canvas kids can add to but also easels set up for them to paint their own creations. The craft area set up is great. Each table is sort of set up with an idea/concept like water coloring, paint pens, a jewelry bead bar for them to make bracelets and necklaces. The supplies are there for your kids to create. They take donations or recycled items like applesauce twist tops, cardboard tubes, etc. these are all available to use. Surprisingly my two year old LOVES to watercolor and all the stickers. I'm waiting for one of their adult nights because I am so serious when I say the vibes are great here. They also have a gift shop in the front entrance with items they use in the studio plus a lot of gift able items. I can never resist looking at what fun new things they have. Every single item in the shop would make a great gift for somebody. A few more woohoo's: *snack friendly, you can bring food or buy some snacks here and they have tables to sit at and enjoy your snack *they have a changing table in the bathroom *big parking lot *easy to book online and see their schedule *staff is good with kids of all ages *next door to Terra toys, I mean c'mon lol

Stay away. We spent around $3000 on paint when this team recommended that their paint was GREAT for…read morecabinets. Only after we purchased all the paint did we realize that they recommend a 17 day cure time. This makes it almost impossible to use the paint on cabinets or paint cabinet doors on both sides. We ended up having to let the cabinets dry over a month with a fan on it as they instructed and the paint is still sticky almost 3 months later. Every time we take something out of our pantry, the paint peels off and there are indentation marks from anything remotely heavy. Photo has one small example. And no, I'm not a DIY-er who doesn't know what they're doing. We had a very professional painter do the work. He even called them multiple times to make sure he was doing everything right. We ended up having to get the paint color matched at Benjamin Moore to complete the job because we couldn't jeopardize the custom cabinets we just spent tens of thousands on. Highly recommend just doing that. And silk and sage refuses to return our unused gallons. Don't believe them. Maybe their paint is better for the art in their store and maybe walls but not for actual use in real home projects.

The most fun we've had doing art in a long time. Painting with a Twist is a fun, casual activity…read morethat fits into just about any occasion, whether it be a date night or just doing something with friends. There are a lot of class options (categorized by what painting you'll be doing) so there's good variety. We chose a very pretty painting which we did not have the foresight to realize would be pretty difficult to paint. Check-in was smooth and the studio is intimate; they also have all materials setup for you ahead of time including aprons. This is also a BYOB spot and many people had wine with them if that's the kind of twist you're looking for. Our instructor was very good during our class. She was genuinely passionate and patient with everyone, doing multiple stops and checks and reassuring us along the way that everything would be fine. This was more of an intermediate level painting that took a bit of skill and finesse so the patient attitude and slow pace was helpful in getting out paintings as close to the original as possible. The only downside to that was the activity ran well over the time we had scheduled for it (2 hours turned into 3-3.5 hours), which forced us to push back a dinner reservation we had made. That's not really a drawback if you have the time and want it to be perfect but for those maybe looking to do something after your painting then it's good to be aware of that. At the end of the event we were genuinely impressed by how well our paintings came out. The attention to detail and instruction make it so that anyone regardless of skill level can come in and put together a painting that would look good on the front of a fridge. They have many different classes and paintings to choose from and for the price it absolutely feels worth it to come back, which we will be doing soon.

It was fun talking to Stacey and Kristine and hearing their stories about their prior lives and how they ended up opening a local glass studio. The team let us know after we had finished our class that it'd take a few weeks before we could come pick up our finished goods and they'd e-mail us once ready. Unfortunately, we never got the e-mail but went ahead and called in after a few weeks and confirmed we could go pick things up. The pieces came out in ways we didn't expect, but overall very happy with how the glass came out and I accept user errors regarding my lack of artistic capabilities.
