My family and I have been going to Dr Selke for almost 10 years. Though we have moved over an hour away, we still take the trip to see her. She is thorough and genuinely cares for me and my family's well being. I have seen a decrease in her wait times; which I considered her Achilles Heel. She is not one to just prescribe medications but pushes for us to improve our diet and exercise and ensure we are taking the right vitamins. Her staff is also friendly and responsive. I had been a patient of Dr. Selke for approximately 5 years, as noted by other reviews the wait times for a routine visit are ridiculous. Dr.Selke is too quick to prescribe meds as the silver bullet answer to everything, her 'defensive' type of medicine is not only expensive but entirely unnecessary and exactly what is the problem with healthcare in this country. I have spent hundreds if not thousands of dollars on blood tests, cat scans, radiologists, etc that insurance would not pay that always turned out to be unnecessary. As a New Years resolution I decided I would never return to her office again. I would advise anyone who isn't looking to go broke and be on 10 unnecessary meds to avoid her too. She cant even stay in the same medical group for more than 12 months at a time, she has been in at least 4 different groups during the time I went to her. One time they were hacked and she didn't even bother tell any of her patients for months that their health information had been compromised. read more

Dr Melissa Selke, so they say first impressions last, so here goes, first i must say for a so called professional in the medical industry all knows that before even touching a patient it is mandatory to put on gloves, Dr Selke for the entire consult had NO GLOVES on. After the consult , yes it was detailed but the mere fact that waiting period to see her was longer than the actual consult was ridiculous and to top it off the receptionist was not even courteous enough to update us until after waiting an hour long i had to ask when we will be seen and in dismissive attitude she answered as if i was just suppose to sit there and not enquire. If you decide to work in the service industry please learn to be polite and professional. Secondly which was unfortunate we had to go back to see Dr Selke again because during what was deemed as a routine consult we had an unfortunate mishap and we knew for sure it was the fault of a procedure that Dr Selke did and of course to our disappointment the waiting period was again an hour long with no update and Both Dr Selke and the receptionist display unprofessionalism. Thirdly after the second consult which was also done without and gloves she winged it in a way that it wasn't her fault but the reality is we proceeded to go to another Dr who confirmed that it was because of the manner in which the consult was dealt with that said area was indeed infected. Money don't grow on trees and if you have to provide medical services to sick individuals please try to do so in a sanitary manner to the best benefit of the patient. Dr. Selke is the most narcissistic doctor I've ever seen. She talks endlessly about herself and pays no attention to the patient. As a result, wait times are never less than an hour. She asked about my stress; I told her that my father had died a few days before. Without asking anything more about that, she went into a story about how her father's ghost visits her all the time. Don't go here, save your precious time! She makes you wait for over an hour every time you make an appointment. I've been going to Dr.Melissa Selke for over 5 years. Every visit, she apologies that they are running behind. Any form you give in to complete takes over 2 weeks. Any time they promise that the form will be completed is never done. Today they said that my daughter's immunization form for college will be done at 1:00 PM. I called at 11:40 just to check, maybe she did it a little earlier, but NO! I was told it will be done AFTER 1:00 PM and that I would receive a call when it's done. I called again at 3:10 PM and the office was closed......Argh!!! So frustrating. Dr. S is helpful and honest. I believe she is a doctor that does her best to use a wellness model for her patients. There are a plethora of services offered at reasonable prices (i.e. laser surgery, other cosmetics). She provided valuable knowledge and listened. She was open about my options & was able to disspell previous misinformation I was provided by other doctors. She attempted to tell me first that I needed medication for a particular problem I have, but then I asked about natural alternative and she gave me a simple solution that did not require medication. She answered other questions also not related to the primary reason for my visit. I am pleased & hope that she is as great on my next visit! read more

Dr. Selke slut shamed my friend for being interested in boys at 14 years of age. As a young girl going through a period of change and expressing to her doctor that she is interested in having a boyfriend or kissing a boy, I believe that a doctors role is informing and educating a young woman to the best of their ability. This woman made my friend feel like she wasn't normal for being attracted to a male, which is the worst thing a doctor could do. She damaged my friends mental health, making her feel insecure and concerned with her body. I am absolutely horrified with the lasting effects of this doctor as my friend is now an adult and still feels sensitive on the subject of her body health and wellness due to the slut shaming this doctor inflicted on her. Hopefully she has changed and future doctors will realize that making young girls feel confident and in touch with their bodies is the most beneficial way to make independent and strong women in our society. read more
