They are now in Glendale. Please update your location. Well, dream come true. I have asked my son to apply for 2 tickets for the game show and be very consistent and persistent. So we both went after it w/out giving up. So after applying online 6 times, we finally got an email from them saying to show up on the taping of the show and be there at least 30 minutes ahead of time. They had 3 tapings that day. 2 in the morning and 1pm for the afternoon. We asked for 1pm, and it was granted to us. We got there exactly at 12:15pm, on 8/11/26, and had to park at this church near by. Found parking easily and we were good to go. Approached their check-in desk/station and Brooke checked us in online. We both got individual, first priority seating, and numbers to put on our right side of our chest. After we went through the metal detector search, we were on our way to another big room of people. Hayley, with a beautiful smile asked to see our IDs/driver licenses. Not only did she nail my mouthful of a name, but also my son's. She had beautiful handwriting. We got to this big room full of happy, and joyful contestents. Of course some anxious, nervous, some kept their cool. I was somewhere in between, but SUPER EXCITED. Of course we all wanted to be winners. In that room, with plastic folding chairs, they were keeping us busy by playing old Price Is Right tapings. They had refreshments and two vending machines. We also had to fill out a lot of forms online with all of our personal information for liability reasons. At the same time, there was a photographer taking photos of everyone with like 6 different shots, from different angles. We purchased one for $35.00 plus tax. We then proceeded to another room 7 to 10 people at a time. Their producer of the show was just FANTASTIC, full of love and energy. Asking everyone different types of questions. Mostly what people do for a living. She also wanted us to have great vibes, shout, scream as loud as we could, and be a great sport. I had no problem with that. Had to tell that to my son. The duration of the whole process was exactly 5 hours. No less, no more. It ended at 5:20pm. As we were already approaching the main studio where the show was going to take place, we all had to turn in our phones and any other devices. Rules and regulations were pretty much self explanatory. What to bring, what to leave at home, what to wear, and that's about it. Once we entered the show, it didn't take long for Drew Carey-- to come out. Handsome, lovely, funny host to appear on stage. During commercial times, him being a comedian was cracking jokes with the audience, and he really was very humorous. The stage along with the room where we were sitting was very beautiful, clean, well spread out and there were tables in between people. Stage was very colorful, bright, & vibrant. The seats were so soft, wide and super comfortable. Better than a movie theatre seats. I kid you not. They had several restrooms, and they were also very clean. All employees were very nice, friendly and helpful. Yet professional. If anyone is interested to watch the show, it will air on the 2nd of December of this year. Even though we didn't win, it was all part of the excitement, joy, fun and the experience. Apparently you can apply to be a contestant as many time as you wish. We ran in to someone who was there for 25 times. Maybe the 26th, he will be called and win both showcases!:-)) Dim the lights, and let the show begin. He is the greatest game show host. I laugh at all his antics on the show. The June 9, 2026 show a contestant played the Rat Race game and the "orange rat", he was saying, what about this one? He's a quitter & accidentally knocked down the finish line bracket and acted like he was Godzilla!! Then James was performing CPR on the "orange rat!!" I am so glad he says at the end of every show to spay or neuter your pets, like Bob Barker did which I am glad they continued that statement. Also, Drew mentioning mental health. I feel that is a very important issue in society and it means alot to the world hearing it from a celebrity. Thank you for that.

5.6.26 I was both…read moresurprised and thrilled to score tickets through 1iota for a taping of Jimmy Kimmel Live! The guests that night were Steve Carell and Mike Tyson--such a fun lineup. After securing tickets, we received detailed instructions via the 1iota website. We were told to check in two hours prior to the taping, along with guidelines on attire, bag size restrictions, and the strict no-recording policy. They also made it clear that once filming begins, there are no bathroom breaks. If you tend to get cold (like I do), definitely bring a jacket. Attending the taping was a really fun experience. The stage was much smaller than we expected, and we were surprised to learn that the desk and chairs are actually rolled out each night. Overall, it was a memorable highlight of our LA trip, and I'd absolutely recommend it.

Keep in mind just FYI if you bring your cellphone, they want you to turn the phone off...like powered off and they give you this phone pouch to stick your phone in, and you leave, they will help you take it out. I was happy we can at least have our phone. They do validate your parking for 4 hours.

It's very organized and everyone is super friendly and professional (and fun). Parking is free. We arrived 1 hour early and were probably 10th in line. There's definitely a lot of standing/waiting/walking so plan accordingly. I was not aware that WOF taped 3 episodes a day (Jeopardy was 2)...so that's a long day if you arrive around 9am (we were let out at 2:00). There is no food/little water/few bathroom breaks during this time. So bring snacks/water/whatever. The staff does warn you 5 million times that this is "your last chance to eat or drink". Then 4 hours later you think "welp, I am hungry and thirsty and need to pee". Vanna is awesome and so is Seacrest; they interact with the audience. There's a merch shop you can buy some fun items. For sure a fun experience to at least do once.

I went to a Dancing with the Stars taping yesterday and it was just lovely! Tickets are free but…read morequite competitive! I had applied all of last season and never got accepted. The application process was easy, I was nervous for check-in but that was easy, every staff member was friendly taking us through the lot, and everything went well for the entire taping. I felt like everything was well organized from start to finish. You receive a lot of information prior telling you the guidelines in terms of what you can bring and how to dress (fancy + no heels). We lined up in an area at Television City (right next to the Grove/Farmers Maket) on the sidewalk, that could potentially be in hot sunlight with no shade but it was hitting just right at my time of day to not be a problem. They're strict about phone use which I'm happy about so no spoilers get out! Security with an ID is done entering the lot, then you wait in an outdoor holding area for varying amounts of time depending on when your filming begins. The Hype Guy and DJ are great in preparing you for the show. We were all laughing, clapping and moving getting excited. The dancers were great, the judges are just the best balance, and the whole show is put together so well! Seeing behind the scenes made me appreciate all the work that SO many crew members put together. Just a fun experience and a cute, wholesome show!

Talk about having no experience, giving it your all and going out there with a good attitude. And I'm sick of this shit - casting experienced dancers. Let's get back to the essence of the show where celebrities with no experience came in to learn ballroom and have fun while doing it to entertain America. Also, the first block off Gower usually has "2 hours parking" sign. Dr. Phil taping usually last about 5-6 hours. So have to one block further away.

In Australia, Dr Phil is on at noon and can be a bit of light entertainment for lunch...and sometimes not. After months of working from home and sharing my lunchtime with Dr Phil, I took up the offer of being part of a "virtual audience". It was a bit like a Zoom meeting in looks (see my photo). If you are on the West coast of North America (USA & Canada) you are watching from the morning to the afternoon. I am 19 hours ahead so it meant a 2.45am start. After you show an interest in attending you are given a date where you can log in and a technician will check that your system works with their system. Then in the following week you are expected to log in early on the day of the taping...in my case really early, and then I was told things wouldn't happen for 90-100minutes. There is a lot of waiting...to be expected. There is a little bit of entertainment while you wait but these are basically ads. A half hour break (11:30-noon) marks a lunch break. There is a warm up guy but I couldn't catch his name. He said his job was basically the same as if we were sitting in the room in front of him. This was also an opportunity to check people's systems. It was not quite clear what was expected of us as an audience from the beginning. An applause sign would pop up onscreen and we had to be told to put our hands in front of our cameras so it could be seen that we were clapping. I could hear dogs barking and people talking during the taping through my earphones from other audience members so I was a bit mindful of too much noise plus everyone was asleep in my neck of the woods. Occasionally there was an information message to remind us about our earphones etc. I did see a communications button appear a couple of times but I couldn't hear what the technicians were talking about. Dr Phil did two shows and would probably have been onscreen for 90 mins for each. I did wonder whether we were really watching something live and if we were the ones providing an audience to previous tapings. There was no interaction between Dr Phil and the audience that indicated it was live. I found it interesting to see a little behind the scenes of a fully edited show. I probably wouldn't do it again as I got up at 2:30am and it didn't finish until 8:30am. The parts that would be edited out of today's shows wouldn't be critical to the stories and the ads I watched were played twice, so I don't need to see those bits again. I will go back to watching the slick edited productions at a more civilised time with my sandwich AND it gives me the option of turning off the telly is the story is just plain silly. Dr Phil has the patience of Job with some of his guests.

Visually, I was so pleased as well, with the takes turning out well lit, flattering and with a clean back drop. We ran my scenes many times as he was incredibly generous with coaching. I did my first session in the evening and he even went as far as to allow me to come back the morning afterward when I wanted to make a few minor tweaks to my work. By the time I sent in my tapes, I felt so peacefully proud of the work I did and the quality of the shots. I will most definitely be calling Self Tape Studio again and am recommending to all my fellow actors.
