We absolutely love attending the Jimmy Kimmel Live Show! I've already seen him a whole bunch of times and each time it gets better. I love the security they have now, even if we have to wait a while to go in.

It's actually incredibly easy to get tickets to see Kimmel. I signed up spontaneously and then completely forgot about it, checked my email the day before the taping and saw that I was given guaranteed seats. We were only told that Robby Hoffman (Netflix comedian) was our guest but were pleasantly surprised to see that our secret guest was Kamala Harris promoting her new book (it's easy to see why her appearance was kept a secret). It was such a crazy experience to see her in person. We also saw Mark Hamill, who was there on a whim for a smaller segment where he just wanted to see if people would recognize him if they saw him on the street lol. I think we got lucky with the guests we were able to see. A few things to point out if you're going: 1. The studio IS very cold, so dress warm. 2. The studio is a lot smaller than you realize it is on TV. 3. You most likely WILL be on TV for like a millisecond or so, so don't be caught sitting with anyone you're not supposed to be with *cough cough* 4. You DO need to keep clapping and cheering very loudly through the entire hour. You may leave partially deaf with swollen hands when you're done. I did and had trouble taking off my rings until the swelling went down. Maybe just don't clap as hard as me lol 5. It's best to not bring any items with you. If you have a phone or Meta glasses or any sort, it goes in a Yonder bag until the end of the taping. 6. It's pretty cool to see Jimmy go through different segments and things he needs to tape promotion-wise like clockwork. He and the staff move like a well-oiled machine and it's very cool to watch. He also might have RBF when the camera isn't on lol. 7. Jimmy's wife is there too, so that's cool. 8. The person who hypes you up before the show starts definitely recycles what he says to each group (although he will say that he doesn't) ;) 9. Park at the mall across the street for free. Not sure which mall it is, but it's the one next to the Chinese theater. 10. Oh yeah, and they throw free Kimmel T-shirts at the crowd to hype people up. I didn't get one because they don't throw that far. People go rabid for these t-shirts. I think that's it. Tickets are totally free and it's a cool experience if you've never done anything like that before and have some free time. Highly recommend everyone to go to a live taping at least once.

When we booked our Los Angeles trip, I quickly put in an application to get tickets to Jimmy Kimmel Live. I didn't hear anything for a long time but just a few days before we left, I got the email saying we were in. I arrived a little earlier than my scheduled time and was immediately escorted to a shared lineup. And it's a good thing it was shaded because the wait turned out to be over an hour. (Apparently rehearsal went long.) As others have noted, you have to lock up your phone in a pouch that you get to keep. I brought a physical book with me, so that helped pass the time. Finally we were escorted into the studio, which is substantially smaller than you'd think. But the chair was comfy and we were given a bathroom break, which was definitely appreciated. The taping itself was energetic and fun. Jimmy wasn't there but guest host Diego Luna did a really superb job. It was very cool seeing him getting genuinely emotional during an interview with Dolores Huerta. And, to top it all off, everyone in the audience got free tacos! That was awesome. I'd recommend a Jimmy Kimmel Live taping to anyone. It's a fun time.

Great memories with great show and great guests. Happened to be in LA and really enjoying Jimmy for a long long time plus his musical guest was YungBlud whom we just saw a month a go at Hollywood Palladium venue down the road a month prior. The staff are great, friendly and they will answer all the questions you have. Parking can be tough but you can park right across the venue at the Ovation for cheap. The theater is amazing building right across from the TCL Chinese theater and the Dolby theater where the Oscar is hosting yearly. Plenty of things to do prior the taping. Overall fantastic experience. Love the show and Jimmy Kimmel.

Easy to get free tix. The wait time to enter is around 45 min in a covered designated area. They make you place your mobile phone in a locked pouch that you keep with you. The studio is small--holds 160 ppl. Taping is fast and efficient. The funny thing--the desk/carpet/guest chair is all brought out (not a dedicated set like Colbert). Fun environment. See rules in images. Note you can bring in bottled water as long as it is NOT opened upon entering. After you are seated --you then have the opportunity to use the bathroom. PS: they even pay/validate for your 3hrs of parking!

I love being apart of the audience at Jimmy's show, it's always a good time. I went to a taping a couple days ago for my birthday and had so much fun. Most people aren't aware of this but you can get FREE show tickets to some of your favorite shows, and talk shows through 1iota, it's definitely worth it. Especially if you are visiting Hollywood for the first time and want to see what it's like to create the magic behind the scenes. This was my 4th time in the last 9 years coming to a taping and as always it did not disappoint.

I was able to get last minute tickets to see Jimmy Kimmel Live for me and my parents! You have to request tickets so on the website, you have to say why you are a super fan! We all got sat towards the front and it was such an amazing experience. The staff definitely welcomes you and they're super helpful so feel free to ask any questions you have. I recommend getting there super early especially if you only have general admission to give time for parking and walking over to the venue. You can also park across the street at the Ovation and it's $3 for the first 4 hours. After they charge every 15 mins which is not bad at all and did I mention, the show tickets are FREE! If you're ever in Hollywood while Jimmy Kimmel Live is happening, definitely add it to your to-do list because it was such a memorable experience!

Carolyn C.

WHY do they want us there so early?! It makes ZERO sense. We waited close to an hour and half to be let in after getting there close to the middle time range that they requested us. It made us even more upset that it didn't matter if you had early access or got there early because they move people around once you get to the door or once you get to security or once you get to the "bleacher" seats. There is no need to pay more for entry or get there early. Also, make sure you use the bathroom right before you get there. The set had chaotic energy--we loved everyone other than Don. He was a bit much and a bit off-putting (unfortunately he also graced us with his presence incredibly intoxicated the next day at The Comedy Store where he threw everything off the table in front of him and drunkenly attempted to sit on the table, legs spread wide open to the crowd. Gross. We immediately got up and left). If you remove Don from the set, the experience was interesting to watch and exciting to partake in. It moves so incredibly fast! I was surprised at how quickly the set managers, directors and other staff members were interchangeably working together. Perfectly sewn staff. Pure fluidity. How they didn't run into each other or have some sort of banter is shocking to me. Also, do not book if you think this is some sort of meet and greet. It is not. You are there to partake in watching the show from lights off to on to off again, laugh and listen. Jimmy makes a quick thank you remark at the end but that is about it. Short and sweet! In and out!

If I could give this 10 stars I would. Any chance that I get to come to a taping I always do. The waiting process starts about an hour and a half before taping. Once you're seated you're entertained by Comedian Don Barris who's the funniest guy I've heard material from. Once the band and announcers come out the show begins. It's nonstop laughs and fun at the tapings. During the breaks, Jimmy will interact with the crowd and sometimes Don throws out some shirts and other swag. If you've never seen Jimmy Kimmel Live in person I HIGHLY recommend going.

Such a blast!

Known as the Media Capital of the World, Burbank is where all the studios are located, Disney, Warner Bros, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, NBC, ABC, etc. It's no surprise if you bump into movie personalities in the mall, movies, bank and other business establishments. My neighbors are pretty much in the entertainment industry. You would think considering my location and business connections, you would think I'd been to all the tapings available. On the contrary, I don't. Yes, I've been to Jay Leno once as a VIP guest so I didn't have to line up and I even had a souvenir photo with him. But that was it. Until I got an invite to see Big Bang Theory on 8/21/18. Although my ticket stated to show up at 5pm, I was actually in line at 3:30 although show starts at 6:30. I didn't want to miss my spot because I had a guest who lives out of town. Too late for me to find out that I actually had priority tickets which is basically a guaranteed spot. Oh well! My guest and I had seats 5 and 6 so which were in the second row just behind the staff guests. Our seats were right in front of the famous staircase, on its left is Penny's apartment and in the right is Sheldon's. We were so near that we see the stars up close. On the day of our visit, the entire cast was there along with Kathy Bates and Tyler. It's a pretty cool experience and I'm glad to have attended especially when they announced the next day that BBT is finally ending. The taping we saw is actually going to be the first episode for their final season.

I love the Big Bang Theory; I think it's the greatest show on earth!!…read more However the process though of getting a ticket to the Big Bang Theory is the biggest pain; it's not worth it unless you really really like the show. Tickets are obtained at Audiences Unlimited which does most sitcoms in Hollywood. Their site is easy and quick until you want to get tickets for this show which usually come out Mondays. The problem is that their website sucks on this day. It constantly times out and has web errors assuming from so many people overloading it with requests for this show. It reminds me of trying to call a radio station when they are doing a giveaway or a casting director at Central Casting when they've put a job on their recorded line. You would think Audiences Unlimited would invest in more bandwidth but I assume since it's the only show that does this they don't see the need. So if you want a ticket to this show you really have to be very patient and have nothing to do for a few hours Monday morning. I've been lucky enough to get through twice and both times I've literally spent 2 hours trying to get tickets and these weren't even real tickets but standby tickets. I've never ever seen a regular ticket, I don't know if they even exist. Also you can only request 1 ticket at a time. They say this has something to do with the studio so if you want to go with your friend it's best that both of you do it separately. It's possible to request 1 ticket then go back to do another but you also run the risk of space being gone by the time you are finally able to get through again If you are lucky enough to have snagged a standby ticket pat yourself on the back. It doesn't end here though because there is still a very likely chance you won't get in. It really just depends on how many family and friends VIP tickets they have given out who don't show up. That is what the standby audience is for. The first time I went with a standby ticket I didn't get in and I got there early. The next time I got there really, really early and I was still like the 10th person in line. Though this is all annoying to do this for a ticket you can see really it reflected in the audiences that shows up. The audience at the Big Bang Theory are true, true, loyal, loving fans who are willing to come early and wait a whole day to see the show just like the old days where people would camp out somewhere to get tickets to a rock concert. Most of them are wearing Big Bang Theory shirts, hats, sweatshirts, etc and it's like a little community when you are waiting, kind of like the parking lot at a Grateful Dead concert without all the tie dye and drugs. I'm naturally a little shy in big groups of people but I felt very comfortable and outgoing here. It was easy to mingle with people I guess since everyone shared a common interest. I met 2 girls that said they went every week, I met some foreign tourists that just adored the show and were giddy that they got to go to a 'real Hollywood TV taping', I met a pilot from back East who was attending the taping during a layover between flights. For the taping I would prepare to make it a day production. Bring a book, magazines, snacks,-lots of them, a lawn chair or somewhere to sit comfortably because bench space is limited, bring cards or other games to play with the new friends you'll make. Bring sunscreen, a hat, better yet a small umbrella because part of the parking lot (yes, you are actually in a parking lot waiting) doesn't have shade. It's actually pretty fun as long as you treat it as a day- long event and come prepared. As for the show I was lucky enough to get a seat in the front row which made the experience so much better, I think it would be different if I was in the back rows because you can't see as much. You can tell that this cast and crew of this show were very special. At the end of the taping Kaley and Kunal gave out autographs. They thanked everyone and said that they were happy to be there and were happy to be able to be working in something that they loved. I wish Jim Parsons would have come out but he probably would have gotten mobbed due to Sheldon's popularity. I love this show and felt it was a great experience; I would definitely go again however the whole process would have been the biggest pain in the ass had I not absolutely adored the show.

In Australia, Dr Phil is on at noon and can be a bit of light entertainment for lunch...and sometimes not. After months of working from home and sharing my lunchtime with Dr Phil, I took up the offer of being part of a "virtual audience". It was a bit like a Zoom meeting in looks (see my photo). If you are on the West coast of North America (USA & Canada) you are watching from the morning to the afternoon. I am 19 hours ahead so it meant a 2.45am start. After you show an interest in attending you are given a date where you can log in and a technician will check that your system works with their system. Then in the following week you are expected to log in early on the day of the taping...in my case really early, and then I was told things wouldn't happen for 90-100minutes. There is a lot of waiting...to be expected. There is a little bit of entertainment while you wait but these are basically ads. A half hour break (11:30-noon) marks a lunch break. There is a warm up guy but I couldn't catch his name. He said his job was basically the same as if we were sitting in the room in front of him. This was also an opportunity to check people's systems. It was not quite clear what was expected of us as an audience from the beginning. An applause sign would pop up onscreen and we had to be told to put our hands in front of our cameras so it could be seen that we were clapping. I could hear dogs barking and people talking during the taping through my earphones from other audience members so I was a bit mindful of too much noise plus everyone was asleep in my neck of the woods. Occasionally there was an information message to remind us about our earphones etc. I did see a communications button appear a couple of times but I couldn't hear what the technicians were talking about. Dr Phil did two shows and would probably have been onscreen for 90 mins for each. I did wonder whether we were really watching something live and if we were the ones providing an audience to previous tapings. There was no interaction between Dr Phil and the audience that indicated it was live. I found it interesting to see a little behind the scenes of a fully edited show. I probably wouldn't do it again as I got up at 2:30am and it didn't finish until 8:30am. The parts that would be edited out of today's shows wouldn't be critical to the stories and the ads I watched were played twice, so I don't need to see those bits again. I will go back to watching the slick edited productions at a more civilised time with my sandwich AND it gives me the option of turning off the telly is the story is just plain silly. Dr Phil has the patience of Job with some of his guests.

The Sony studios have free parking and the show's PA's are well-organized and polite. A bit of a walk through a show-oriented gift store and a short walk to the stage. Totally fun to watch the mechanics of the show and Ken Jennings in action. Would definitely do it again.

In a moment of serendipity, a taping was about to begin at the same time we were there for a studio tour. I'm not sure how or why there was misinformation given to us, but we had to wait on standby to be considered for a spot and they allowed us to reschedule our tour. We waited patiently as all other guests arrived and were checked in to see if we made the cut. At the very end, we were informed that we made it in! All of the other attendees were rooting for us, which was intense but helped to pass the time. The experience was lengthy and involved a lot of waiting around, but it was a unique and fun behind the scenes look at a show we love. The experience being free of cost to attend makes it a great value, and everyone was friendly during our time there. The only thing that could have made it better was to have some snacks, as I did get a little famished during the 5 hour window because I had not planned to stay that long.
