Really generous gifts given to audience attendees!

If you have the time to go, I find tapings lately something fun and different to do. Living so close to LA/Hollywood, why not? We applied for tickets (free) on line and the communication between the audience coordinator and ourselves by phone and e-mail was great! We were put into a holding room to wait initially - and the wait was long due to a somewhat unforeseeable 'cashmeousside' guest issue. We were offered a granola bar about halfway through the wait (it tasted like gold at that point) and then finally, we were in the studio for 1 taping. There are no bad seats, really and the space was the perfect size, I thought. We could see everything. Robin looked beautiful as always. We were at a taping about a week before Valentine's Day so we were all gifted, as audience members at the show's end, a goodie bag of Robin's "bow" ring and some of her facial products. (really good stuff!) It felt like we were really appreciated for being there which was nice. The show we were at was interesting and thought provoking. The thing I will remember most about being there is the staff. All so approachable and friendly! TIPS - Arrive on time. Use the restroom provided before entering studio as there is not really a chance to leave once taping starts. Bring a few snacks and a bottle of water in your purse or small bag. Trust me, you will be glad that you did! Dress to impress, favoring darker colors. (no white) Bring a jacket. Parking was $12, across the street in the garage. HAVE FUN!

I requested tickets for the Season 16 Premiere. The phone rang and a producer for the show confirmed my tickets for the first episode of the new season! I arrived at about 7:30 a.m. and there was about 30 people already in line. They pages and security take your phone before entering. We eventually got to a waiting room inside the studio at about 8:30. I believe the staff announced more than 18 times to use the bathroom before the show. Everyone complains about the cold studio but I didn't mind it and it seemed just right. We got to see two tapings. For the first episode, I sat behind Robin McGraw. She was so kind and gave everyone high fives and threw out plush shaped hearts with a Dr. Phil Logo. The second show I sat in the front row on the aisle. ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. I even got a Dr. Phil mug for my enthusiasm! At the conclusion, Dr. Phil did address the audience and said that Robin and him were celebrating an anniversary. He also thanked us for being a great audience. We left the studio at about 2:45 p.m. It's definitely a long show but it is worth it!

I got my ticket online for a Wednesday show. I later got an email that the Wednesday show had been changed to a Monday show. Luckily I was in town Sunday night so it worked for me. I read (on yelp - thank you) that people got there a little after 8am so I showed up around 7:45 and it was good timing. I also read (on yelp) that I should leave my phone in the car, so I did. The set is next to a neighborhood so the only parking is down the street and they only take cash. $12 As I entered I was asked for my cell phone - thankfully I didn't have it. I was then asked about 4 more times for my cell phone and passed through a metal detector AND had a guy check every nook and cranny of my purse. THEY ARE THOROUGH! We were given a paper to sign that allows them to film us. The strange thing is that it also says they can alter our appearance however they choose. ODD! We waited in an area outside and didn't know what was next. Eventually we lined up again where we initially lined up. We were grouped by VIP and non VIP status. As we finally entered the Dr Phil show area, we were seated based on how many in our group. I was solo so it was easy for them to wait and save me a seat last. When Robyn came out she was very happy and gave things to the women that sat by her. There was a hype man that got us excited. He even gave out Dr Phil mugs and other things. I know others mention this but IT IS SO COLD in there! FREEZING! Prepare yourself. Also make sure to bring snacks for when your stomach is rumbling during a break. The show was very depressing - it was about a woman being accused of shaking her kid. Sad. Allegedly. Thankfully there was also a segment about Robyn's new product line. It was very upbeat and we even got a gift bag of her goodies! YAY! We were asked to exit the building and line up again. While in line we were given a bottle of water and a snack bar. We went to line up for a 2nd show and didn't make it inside before they began. With the rescheduling not everybody could fit. They said we could come back again later and gave us our gift bag. I would have loved to see a 2nd show but I understood and the gift bag eased the blow - lol. I want to go back again soon! I hope to bring someone with me since there is quite a bit of down time without a phone.

I have been to the doctor phil show about 4 times . It is freezing in there but all of the topics I have seen were crazy I did get a mug and stress ball and a book but it's super fun getting to see yourself on TV

I've been in audiences before and this by far was the best experience I've bad at one. The workers really made you feel valued not like a nuisance. We weren't waiting around long, other shows your waiting around All the time! Your there for two taping shows. In between you get drinks and cracks to hold you over. The studio is pretty cold I think it prevents you from sweating on camera and to keep you alert. After it ended getting out was very fast and they had pizza waiting for us. Great experience if your thinking about going, do it! The episode we got to watch was the one with the "fixer" she promised to send us all autographed books! Great bonus!

Thanks for the diet book, Dr. Phil. You trying to tell me something?!?

After securing tickets, we received detailed instructions via the 1iota website. We were told to check in two hours prior to the taping, along with guidelines on attire, bag size restrictions, and the strict no-recording policy. They also made it clear that once filming begins, there are no bathroom breaks. If you tend to get cold (like I do), definitely bring a jacket. Attending the taping was a really fun experience. The stage was much smaller than we expected, and we were surprised to learn that the desk and chairs are actually rolled out each night. Known as the Media Capital of the World, Burbank is where all the studios are located, Disney, Warner Bros, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, NBC, ABC, etc. It's no surprise if you bump into movie personalities in the mall, movies, bank and other business establishments. My neighbors are pretty much in the entertainment industry. You would think considering my location and business connections, you would think I'd been to all the tapings available. On the contrary, I don't. Yes, I've been to Jay Leno once as a VIP guest so I didn't have to line up and I even had a souvenir photo with him. But that was it. Until I got an invite to see Big Bang Theory on 8/21/18. Although my ticket stated to show up at 5pm, I was actually in line at 3:30 although show starts at 6:30. I didn't want to miss my spot because I had a guest who lives out of town. Too late for me to find out that I actually had priority tickets which is basically a guaranteed spot. Oh well! My guest and I had seats 5 and 6 so which were in the second row just behind the staff guests. Our seats were right in front of the famous staircase, on its left is Penny's apartment and in the right is Sheldon's. We were so near that we see the stars up close. On the day of our visit, the entire cast was there along with Kathy Bates and Tyler. It's a pretty cool experience and I'm glad to have attended especially when they announced the next day that BBT is finally ending. The taping we saw is actually going to be the first episode for their final season.

I love the Big Bang Theory; I think it's the greatest show on earth!!…read more However the process though of getting a ticket to the Big Bang Theory is the biggest pain; it's not worth it unless you really really like the show. Tickets are obtained at Audiences Unlimited which does most sitcoms in Hollywood. Their site is easy and quick until you want to get tickets for this show which usually come out Mondays. The problem is that their website sucks on this day. It constantly times out and has web errors assuming from so many people overloading it with requests for this show. It reminds me of trying to call a radio station when they are doing a giveaway or a casting director at Central Casting when they've put a job on their recorded line. You would think Audiences Unlimited would invest in more bandwidth but I assume since it's the only show that does this they don't see the need. So if you want a ticket to this show you really have to be very patient and have nothing to do for a few hours Monday morning. I've been lucky enough to get through twice and both times I've literally spent 2 hours trying to get tickets and these weren't even real tickets but standby tickets. I've never ever seen a regular ticket, I don't know if they even exist. Also you can only request 1 ticket at a time. They say this has something to do with the studio so if you want to go with your friend it's best that both of you do it separately. It's possible to request 1 ticket then go back to do another but you also run the risk of space being gone by the time you are finally able to get through again If you are lucky enough to have snagged a standby ticket pat yourself on the back. It doesn't end here though because there is still a very likely chance you won't get in. It really just depends on how many family and friends VIP tickets they have given out who don't show up. That is what the standby audience is for. The first time I went with a standby ticket I didn't get in and I got there early. The next time I got there really, really early and I was still like the 10th person in line. Though this is all annoying to do this for a ticket you can see really it reflected in the audiences that shows up. The audience at the Big Bang Theory are true, true, loyal, loving fans who are willing to come early and wait a whole day to see the show just like the old days where people would camp out somewhere to get tickets to a rock concert. Most of them are wearing Big Bang Theory shirts, hats, sweatshirts, etc and it's like a little community when you are waiting, kind of like the parking lot at a Grateful Dead concert without all the tie dye and drugs. I'm naturally a little shy in big groups of people but I felt very comfortable and outgoing here. It was easy to mingle with people I guess since everyone shared a common interest. I met 2 girls that said they went every week, I met some foreign tourists that just adored the show and were giddy that they got to go to a 'real Hollywood TV taping', I met a pilot from back East who was attending the taping during a layover between flights. For the taping I would prepare to make it a day production. Bring a book, magazines, snacks,-lots of them, a lawn chair or somewhere to sit comfortably because bench space is limited, bring cards or other games to play with the new friends you'll make. Bring sunscreen, a hat, better yet a small umbrella because part of the parking lot (yes, you are actually in a parking lot waiting) doesn't have shade. It's actually pretty fun as long as you treat it as a day- long event and come prepared. As for the show I was lucky enough to get a seat in the front row which made the experience so much better, I think it would be different if I was in the back rows because you can't see as much. You can tell that this cast and crew of this show were very special. At the end of the taping Kaley and Kunal gave out autographs. They thanked everyone and said that they were happy to be there and were happy to be able to be working in something that they loved. I wish Jim Parsons would have come out but he probably would have gotten mobbed due to Sheldon's popularity. I love this show and felt it was a great experience; I would definitely go again however the whole process would have been the biggest pain in the ass had I not absolutely adored the show.
