I can tell he truly loves what he does because he genuinely laughs at every scene. Through this class, I also learned many life lessons: everyone is faking it till they make it, always ask more questions, embrace the silliness and absurdity of life, never stop playing, and just show up. But they could use an upgrade to the seats, they're getting a bit outdated. I still highly recommend catching a show here and as many as you can in the city as it's a city of artists, musicians, actors, painters, you name it everyone comes to LA to break into some industry. A lot of local parking spots and good food spots. Personally, I wish they cleaned up the Blvd cause on a bad day it can still look as ugly as the 90's. But it's improving and getting slowly better. Their snacks are basically the big chocolate chip cookie, which did save me and some nuts and candy. My friend who also came starving stole my cashews. Overall it was a great show. The bathroom situation looks out of control but the lines for the ladies moved fast, especially upstairs. I paid for parking in a lot across from the Capital Lot and it was a short walk down to Hollywood Blvd. It was super convenient not having to look for parking in Hollywood.

How did I only just discover this theatre after all these years?…read more We just went to see The Eves which was a great scary (yes, it was, and I'm not easily scared) psychological ghost story for the Halloween season. Well acted and absorbing. Hannah Rubenstein was a real stand-out as Emily! Loved the little cozy upstairs theatre. Next week we will see Frankenstein Resurrection in the larger downstairs theatre in the round. I'm really looking forward to going back! They have a bar, complete with Halloween themed drinks for the season, snacks, and a lounge for pre-show mingling in this cool old building that according to the people who work here...is haunted! (Not that I'm a believer, but it's quite the fun Halloween experience to entertain the idea ;) Definitely check out this great little theatre and support your local arts!

I saw what I can only describe as a comedy magic show featuring Benjamin B. entitled "Trust Your…read moreInstincts." This particular show is part of the annual Fringe Festival, which is a mixed bag of shows, never knowing quite what you're going to get. I thought Ben brought a lot of energy to the show, told us fun stories, and dabbled in some magic here and there. Not your typical magic shows with card tricks and bunnies in hats, more of a storytelling show with moments of illusion. Obviously, Ben and his team put a lot of work into the show. It was my first time at the inconspicuous Skiptown Playhouse, but it worked for the show. A nice little black box theatre for quaint intimate productions here in LA.
