If you're struggling to let go of what's holding you back from fully expressing yourself, Improv is one of the most powerful solutions--and Improv LA is the place to be. The teaching approach is incredibly inspiring. You feel supported every step of the way, and all the teachers in the classes I attended were not only highly professional but also deeply encouraging. Even as a complete beginner, I never felt intimidated or out of place--you truly feel like you belong right away. I'm so grateful I found this school. After completing Level 1, I immediately enrolled in Level 2 and continued all the way through Level 4. I'm proud to say I completed the entire Improv program at Improv LA, and it has been such a transformative journey. I also took Comedy Sketch 101--it was a blast! I came in with no idea what to expect, and by the end, I created a sketch that made the whole class laugh out loud! read more

I took Keith's improv class as a beginner and found it to be a really fun and honestly transformative experience. I liked that each week was divided up by different games, exercises, and lessons that slowly built up into a long form show. We learned the basics of improv and all its fun acronyms (yes and, CREW, etc.) and applied to to our scenes. Keith did an amazing job at making everyone feel welcomed and not scared to be vulnerable, and was an attentive teacher. I can tell he truly loves what he does because he genuinely laughs at every scene. Through this class, I also learned many life lessons: everyone is faking it till they make it, always ask more questions, embrace the silliness and absurdity of life, never stop playing, and just show up. Life is just improv if you really think about it :') Thanks Keith for a great class! Now go tap into your inner child and take an improv class! read more

Went in hoping improv 101 would provide a unique and new perspective as well as challenge me to do something outside of my comfort zone. The classes are excellent, the instructor is knowledgeable and supportive, and I really appreciated the "jerk free" environment that was enforced. So glad I pushed myself to do improv 101. read more

I've taken several classes at ImprovLA so far, Improv 101, Kelsey's class, a one-day Crew Improv workshop with Ryan, and now Keith's Everyday Improv , and I'm genuinely blown away by this school. Every teacher I've learned from has far exceeded my expectations. Their skill, clarity, & support make the learning experience incredible. Even Ryan's three-hour one-day class last night felt like an entire six-week course because of how effectively she drilled the concepts & had us apply them in real time. And Keith's Everyday Improv has been transformative for everyday communication. It's the kind of class everyone should take, regardless of age or profession. ImprovLA consistently delivers engaging, energetic, & thoroughly taught classes in a supportive environment that makes growth feel exciting & achievable. I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone looking to learn, connect, & build real confidence through improv. -Sarah Khan read more

Improv Level 1 with Keith is honestly one of the best classes I've taken in LA. This class is perfect for anyone who wants to feel more at ease speaking on the spot, even if you're not an aspiring actor or comedian. I come from a science and engineering background and this ended up being one of the most unexpectedly useful things I've done for my professional development. It even helped me get into a competitive global leadership programme! The environment is fun, welcoming and supportive and I met some genuinely lovely people through this class. Would 100% recommend for all levels. read more

I have completed the Level 1 and Improv for Everyday. I can't say enough that the Level 1 course is a welcoming environment and allows you to be comfortable to learn improv. Improv for Everyday is a great course to apply improv in a practical way, which can include dating or your career. Even taking the Level 1 course will help build more confidence and maybe you will fall in love with improv. I know I'll be taking the others levels at ImprovLA in the next few months. Again...don't hesitate and take a course at ImprovLA. Even try the one-day classes to get a feel read more

LOVED Improv 101 at the Clubhouse with Keith!!! IT was incredibly fun and strangely useful in daily life. Met a great group of people and we had a blast. Keith, our instructor, was hilarious and a real pro with so much cool wisdom to impart. I took so much away from this...really glad I braved up and did something out of the ordinary. Worth every penny and every minute! read more

The Improv 1 class with Cassie Ahiers was a dynamic, powerful, challenging and of course hilarious class that helped bring me back to my natural flow, which will help immensely with the speaking, interviews, podcasts, and training I am often invited to do. I am still not sure if I am funny, but I may be, who knows? ‍ Either way I emphatically recommend the Improv classes whether you are looking to be a comedian or just looking for a way towards personal growth. read more

The best beginner Improv course! Amazing teachers, easy pacing, and affordable! I completed all 4 levels and it has helped me become a much better public speaker and was a great outlet for creativity and letting your weird out. Highly recommend to anyone regardless of experience. read more

This was my first time taking a class at Improv LA, I've been to their improv Jams before and the vibes are super positive, encouraging, and fun. Just finished Sketch Writing 101 and this class had the same enthusiasm and it was an amazing experience. We learned about all different types of sketches with examples, got to practice writing in each type and then having our work shared in class. The environment was super supportive (I'm new to sketch writing) and felt encouraged and comfortable taking risks. The students and teacher were all respectful and created a great dynamic. I even have plans to film some of my sketches. Can't wait for Sketch Writing 201. read more

I did a class last year and loved it so much I came back for more. Always more to learn from Keith, he's an excellent teacher. I had so, so much fun and I always am thinking more outside the box when I leave class. It helps so much with confidence, writing, being on stage and in front of others. Highly recommend! read more

Keith was great in teaching improve for everyday life. It was very beneficial and I learned skills that I can use for the rest of my life.

I got so much more out of this class than expected. It's a safe and judgement free environment. I can't wait to come back to do Level 2.

Damon was a fantastic teacher of Improv 101. Improv 101 was helpful, collaborative and tons of fun. My experience was that my improv class was a safe space to work on new skills such as listening, memory, and self-confidence. I also made several new friends. I recommend this class. read more

Wow, I started at Improv LA a couple of years ago and took the level 1 class. It was so much fun that despite not being an actor or any kind of performer I signed up for the Level 2 class. It was great as well. So now I just finished Level 4. What can I say, the class is well structured, it's aimed at anyone not just actors or industry people. The instructors were fantastic, Rob, Kevin and Frank. If you've ever been even slightly interested in improv this is the perfect class. It's a comfortable atmosphere where you are encouraged to have fun and let yourself be as silly as you want. I recommend it to anyone. read more

Keith is the best!! He did a great job explaining all the different types of scenes and gave lots of good tips that helped me jump into scenes faster and with more interesting characters. I've taken two rounds of classes with him and can't wait for the next one. Such a kind person and always created a warm and welcoming environment for learning and being silly!! read more

Just Ok. Good teachers, but the classes are too large and the new classes take a long time for them to post if you want to move on to another level. And six sessions are hardly enough time to really understand the exercises, so for that amount of time the tuition is overpriced...If you are just starting, then this school is ok. But if you want a more intensive training experience and more bang for your buck, then try some of the more well-known schools instead. read more

Improv for Everyday at Improv LA with Keith was a great experience--fun, relaxed, and surprisingly useful. Keith makes the class feel super approachable, even if you've never done improv before. So far, I've done a level 101 course taught by Sean Williams, a new "Improv for Everyday" course taught by the founder and author of the best selling book "The Improv Mindset", Keith Saltojanes and starting level 201 next week. Improv is by far the most challenging thing I've done recently and I have loved everything that is being taught! I know this will definitely help me break free from the mental blocks keeping me from being my true, authentic self. I'm not in this to be an actor. I'm in it to give my personality a much needed update! I definitely recommend trying out Improv LA if you're looking to come out the other side much different than when you went into it. read more

This was a really fun class! Great teachers. Never a dull moment! Highly recommended. It was a great experience.

What a cool improv studio. I learned so much in my intro to Improv class, like using CREW (character, relationship, environment, why) and doing montages. I felt so much more confident being on stage after the class and I made new friends in the process. Highly recommend this place! read more

Took level 1 with Sean and am so shocked that I not only completed the level and attended all classes, but I ENJOYED myself. I was amazed at how fast time passed. Sean is a gifted teacher, he makes everything so clear and digestible and eases you into the "rules" of improv. He really encouraged our class to hang out outside of class, and I'm so glad he did. We saw shows together, hung out after class, and I truly believe it made us play with each other so much better - we were more comfortable with each other, and we were able to let loose and have fun. The class was still challenging, but that's only normal when you're learning and growing! HIGHLY recommend Improv LA. I'd taken one class about 8 years ago with a teacher from one of the famous improv places, and I lowkey hated every minute of that class. Haha. It really just showed me what a difference it is to have a GOOD teacher. I appreciate that our class didn't feel like a cog in a machine here, it was intimate and just the best experience I could ask for! read more

I've been taking classes at Improv LA since late January (now in level 3), and I'm so happy I found this school. Specifically, there's a great amount of variety. I love how they review several styles of improv: Los Angeles (of course), Chicago, London, Asian, New York, Canadian... Every instructor has lent unique perspectives and has been very approachable. I often attend shows at other schools that seem much more intimidating. My favorite aspect has been the chance to meet cool peeps! Most of my classmates have been like me, just looking to have fun (not trying to get famous or anything). It's interesting how we've been able to connect from different walks of life, from creative professionals to teachers to IT. There's something magical about improv that brings everyone together. Thanks to my experiences with Improv LA, I feel more confident and more vocal in all areas of my life. If you're shopping for an improv school, I'd definitely recommend this one! read more

I took my first ever improv class (Improv 101) with Sean Williams and this class was honestly life changing. I learned so much not just about comedy and acting, but also how to bring out my authentic emotions and learn to express them and create improvised scenes that I would have never thought I could create. This is an amazing class for anyone who gets anxious in social situations or for people who want to get into the art of acting and comedy. I highly recommend!!!!!! read more

I had always wanted to take improv but didn't have the courage. One day, i got drunk and signed up and showed up to the class not knowing what to expect. My class with Sarah was amazing. At first, it felt a little cringey but that was how i was getting more playful and getting out of my comfort zone. I took this class hoping to be able to speak better in my corporate job and it not only helped me think fast but also made me more proactive and better listener. More importantly, it was a lot of fun. Def brought huge energy into my tired life. I highly recommend read more

I took Level 1 with Sarah and it was a great experience! Sarah's got this really supportive and easy going vibe about her, which was great because I was super nervous doing improv on stage, but I felt like everyone was encouraging and welcoming. My classmates were really cool. I kind of got an LA vibe from the whole class. Some classmates were working in the entertainment industry and the classroom kind of looked like something out of HBO's Barry's acting class. You get a lot of stage time practice and good feedback. "Trust in your partners" is the key thing I took away from the class, which can be difficult at times to do when you're up there on stage. I actually enjoyed watching my classmates more than professional improvers because we were all learning together and going through the hardships of improv. Overall it was a really unique and enjoyable experience. read more

I was so nervous signing up for this class. I didn't take it to become a professional improviser, I simply did it to get out of my comfort zone and to over come some social anxiety I'd recently been experiencing. I truly feel I was able to do that through Improv 1! Sean, our instructor was great and put us all at ease from day one, my classmates were an amazing fun bunch and I definitely feel like I've applied some of the techniques we learned in class to everyday life. Thank you Improv LA! read more

I was physically injured by another student while doing an improv scene because the student thought it was okay to put his hands on me. I contacted Improv LA and they have yet to refund me for the classes I missed due to my injury. They also did not remove the other student from the class. Safety is not a priority here, I don't recommend read more

Just wrapped level 1 and it was my first time attempting improv. Not only has it boosted my confidence performing and singing live (I'm a musician), but I discovered I have a passion for improv and plan on continuing to level 2. Can't wait to continue to learn with Improv LA. The teachers are super knowledgeable and supportive and I bonded with all of my colleagues. read more

Super fun, laughed a ton, learned a lot, and was a good way to step outside my comfort zone!

I took level 1 with Ryan and had the best time. First, he's hilarious and just lovely to be around for several weeks. Second, he not only explains the curriculum well, but he was patient enough to pause the class and really dive into specific questions whenever they came up. He's also really great at giving constructive feedback which I think the whole class appreciated. Would absolutely take another class with him. read more

First time taking an improv class and Keith made it an incredibly welcoming and safe space to play, even with the limitations of having to do the class over zoom! Keith provided links to YouTube videos and books that were super helpful in synthesizing the concepts we were taught in class. I found the interviews with improv veterans Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Tim Meadows, and Andy Dick to be especially enlightening since they all agreed that truth is what improv is all about. That you don't have to try to be funny and you shouldn't try at all, just be honest and true to the scene. Kind of a freeing thought, not trying to think of anything, just responding to the scene and being in the moment. Most of all I had fun every single session and laughed especially hard during the long form improv scenes in our last class, would most definitely recommend! read more

Keith is an AMAZING teacher! I have learned so much from him about acting and creating a safe space to cultivate creativity. I highly recommend his beginner level 1 improv class for anyone not just actors. It's useful for everyday life and the random situations that were thrown into. Do it! read more

My beginning improv workshop with Keith was an incredible multi-week course experience. In addition to the great time my group had in class, I found myself using the improv tools and lessons I was learning in the course in my own work pitch sessions and presentations! My confidence grew substantially because of this course. Highly recommended! read more

I did the improv level one course and it has opened a new world for me. I've since gone on to the sketch writing course, and I am joining the Groundlings school. Kelsie is an amazing teacher who makes you feel open, playful and creative. Improv is quite a difficult skill to learn, and the course is very well set out. Improv LA is equally useful for those who want to explore improv as an art, and as a skill to improve public speaking and confidence. At first you might think that it's slow moving, but the skills are actually drip fed in a very specific order so that you are not overwhelmed.. I thoroughly recommend. read more

I just completed a second Level 1 class with Improv LA, after taking a few years off since round one. This time was a little different...due to Covid-19, the class was held over Zoom rather than in person. Keith did a great job with the class and it was fun and productive. First, Keith remembered me, which I can't weigh in on whether that is good or not, but I digress.... Let's get back to the topic at hand...improv class a la zoom.... Keith was very warm and engaging, which is no easy feat over zoom. He was able to get full participation and hold everyone's attention for the full two hours each time (I know because you see the faces because...well...zoom). He was able to provide informative content, engage us in good learning activities, and "got the job done." Bottom line: I highly recommend adding improv to your Covid learning and development plan and selecting Improv LA as your go to. Cheers!! read more

I really enjoyed Keith's teaching! For the type of class he was teaching, I think he brought the right balance of a casual atmosphere and lots of detailed feedback. He has a lot of good energy and hypes everyone up to have a good time. My class was an intermediate class focused more on long form, and I appreciated being able to have some more granular and moment to moment feedback and try out some unique and challenging games. I feel like it really helped me improve past just the basics, and really think about intentionally making a scene funny in addition to just yes-and-ing. I had a blast and I cannot recommend him more! read more

I moved to Los Angeles 4 months ago and wanted to get my feet wet in the acting and improv community. I knew nothing at the time about improv, the community, or had any friends over here. I researched through Yelp and found ImprovLA. After seeing all the positive reviews I signed up for ImprovLA Fast forward to today, and I am now done with the beginner level Improv class (8 weeks). WOW! What a blast! Keith has a natural ability to teach improv and a positive nature about him that makes it easy to perform and learn from such a non-judgemental person. Towards the end of the classes Keith would ask us where we thought we needed to improv (individually) with our improv. I don't know how he does it, but he was able to cater individual drills for these areas to help people strengthen themselves in their areas. The class was filled with a mixture of actors and people who worked "office" jobs, who were trying to learn new life skills. This class can help you with anxiety, hold a better conversation, become a better listener, and using the core improv golden rule to "yes and" every situation that you encounter in life. If you are new to improv or want to help build a better foundation to many types of life skills then take this class. I am looking forward to taking his second level class intermediate improv. read more
