Merakey - The exterior of the Merakey Mental Health Walk-In Clinic

Compassionate and comfortable mental health care. Check in…read morewith security. Complete a brief assessment. Intake: Brianna is so kind. Therapist: Erin is an effective listener and so patient. Case Manager: Luke connects all the dots with scheduling and available resources. You may meet with a Psychiatrist if you choose to. This is a brand new facility for walk-ins between 11am-6pm everyday (even weekends). With a back log of available care providers this facility is a game changer.

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at Merakey. I arrived on a Sunday around 2:00 PM as…read morethe only person in the office, yet I was left waiting over 30 minutes because staff decided to take lunch during operating hours. When I politely asked about getting a simple medication refill, I was spoken to rudely by a staff member (the head boss lady with glasses) and told that the psychiatrists were unavailable. However, I could clearly hear and see staff and psychiatrists in the lunchroom eating and laughing while I was left waiting with no communication or concern. The lack of professionalism, empathy, and urgency was honestly shocking, especially for a mental health facility where patients rely on timely care and medication access. Patients should not feel ignored or dismissed when seeking help. I left feeling frustrated, disrespected, and completely let down by the level of care and customer service provided. That was my experience

TLDR- it's fantastic…read more This is a long review... I have been to many therapists for trauma work but no practice has helped me the way Therapy for Women has. I broke up all the reasons I think Therapy for Women is amazing below. The values: This practice is based on mutual trust. You're therapist will happily share bits of their own life experiences. This always makes me feel less alone in what I am experiencing. Additionally, the open conversations make sessions comfortable/feel less like a doctors appointment. Therapy for Women also makes a point to let you know that you can switch therapists at anytime. Besides therapy won't be effective if you aren't comfortable with who you are talking too. In the office: The atmosphere is calming and quiet. Therapists have white noise machines at their door so your conversations will never be heard by someone passing by. If you are finding it hard to share something most therapists have art supplies, cards, fidget toys or board games that you are able to play during the session. The sessions are flexible and can be tailored to what you need. This is especially great for people like me with ADHD. The online portal: This might not be something many people think is important but the online portal is so simple. The rules, expectations, and prices for the practice are shared openly once you become a client so there is transparency. If you are ever confused about something or wondering about your last bill it is easy to look up past records and chat with your therapist directly. Price: Therapy for Women does not accept insurance (this is my understanding/ I'm not sure if there are specific exceptions). Sessions are relatively expensive since insurance doesn't cover the cost. However, Jen is a therapist I could stick with for years and I feel it is completely worth the extra cost. Over all: I really think this practice is something special and I am SO happy I found it when I did.

I've been treated with amazing kindness and professionalism…read more This is the place for women to get through the bad stuff Hope everyone feels ok today

CASA was a fun organization to be a part of mainly due to Dr. F's enthusiasm, passion and new ideas on making students aware of substance abuse. I was a peer educator and Dr. F trained us to do workshops, intervention and reach out to students at TU on the issues of drug and alcohol use. He was one of the most accessible and easy going professors that I knew. I often found myself talking to Dr. F about things I was going through because he was so easy to talk to. Respectively, I could tell he wasn't a stranger to the crazy college lifestyle (partying, relationship woes, family struggles, work balance, etc) I was living and he never made me feel "less than" or like he didn't get it. Dr. F always just got it. I think Dr. F would be a great therapist for anyone wanting to explore the role addiction serves in his or her world. If you're ready to make a change, Dr. Frank is who I would suggest.

I am currently not seeing Elizabeth regularly as I once did and I read in a recent email from her…read morethat she is possibly stepping down from therapy and focus on being director of her practice. But before she steps down, I want to mention how great she was as my therapist. So here's my review. I initially came to Elizabeth when I had made the mistake of falling head over heels for someone who did not feel the same way. As you can imagine, that cause me a lot of heartache. She was very good in the beginning stages and guided me through this heartache. Then I was about to start a grad school program that would be a waste of time and money for me to come. (To make a long story short, I ended up being part of a class action lawsuit against PriceWaterhouse, one of the largest accounting firms, for age discrimination. PriceWaterhouse settled rather than take it to court.) The grad school program would be a major stressor for me. During that time, Elizabeth was always there for me and helped me as I was experiencing a program that should have been a help but wasn't. Eventually, the grad school program ended and the heartache was gone, but I continue to see Elizabeth because I really liked her and found her to be a great support on whatever was going in my daily life. Then, I came down with a severe case of OCD and Elizabeth honestly knew it wasn't her specialty and we would both agree I need to find an OCD expert. Her confessing it wasn't her specialty made her better in my eyes. There are therapists who think they can deal with any problem that they face. Honest therapists know they cannot handle every issue and that's what Elizabeth was. As I mentioned earlier, she is stepping down from her therapy role and is about to become director of a program, A Better Life Therapy. I am sure the people she staff will be excellent as her. But I want her to know before she goes on what a great therapist she is and the therapy universe will be missing a true angel like her.

I can not say enough about Elizabeth, she is kind, she is professional, she cares, she makes you…read morefeel at ease, she's easy to talk to.... I highly recommend visiting her
