After getting the prescription for physical therapy at UConn, I spent a bit of time trying to find a place that would be able to take me for physical therapy quickly. I called around and finally was told by a receptionist at another HHRN location that the Bloomfield location relatively less busy, so I gave them a call, and they had an opening a week out. Whew. After the first visit, it was easy to schedule convenient sessions. I ultimately had six sessions with Brian over the course of 3 weeks. Brian has a pretty chill demeanor and was helpful in my understanding of why I was feeling the discomfort I did. I appreciated that deeper understanding and ultimately felt better - mentally and physically - through my sessions here. I was ultimately able to complete my race practically pain free, and it would not have been possible without Brian's instruction and expertise.

Last year I went to a different group where I rarely had the same therapist. I was in a large room with no privacy and often left without guidance or attention. This does not happen with Dominic. Because of insurance I had not seen him for many years. It got to the point where I didn't care if I had to pay out of pocket so I returned to the group and Physical Therapist who had helped me after several surgeries. At this place you get care from the same person each time so you don't have to explain what is going on with a new person all the time. There are public and private rooms which makes the experience more comfortable. Dominic knows what he is doing. I don't feel like he is giving me a cookie cutter plan. He really listens. He has been able to help me figure out where some really awful pain was originating from and addressing it properly. He watches and is attentive for each session as opposed to other places where a therapist had more than one patient at a time and often didn't remember what you were supposed to be there for. I am so lucky to be back in his care. My pain level has significantly decreased and I am able to increase and resume activities I thought might be lost to me forever. I am also grateful that they are now taking my insurance plan. I don't worry that I may actually get injured by my physical therapy as had happened several times in the past with other places. It is so nice to trust the person you are working with. This is the first time in many years that I have hope for leading a less painful life and resuming things that broke my heart to give up. If you are looking for a great physical therapist and place I recommend it highly.

I was very nervous getting started because of past experiences. My therapist here, Peta, is very nice and a great listener...this means so much...to have someone truly understand what you're going through...and NOT trying to push you beyond your (that day) limits just to put numbers into the computer! I've been to other HHC PT facilities as well as other "brand" PT facilities and I've always felt as though I was in "jock"ville, with the therapists seeming to think they were preparing me for the Olympics or some other kind of competition...not here...they're real people and realistic...thank you!

I found South Windsor Neck & Back based on a recommendation from a friend. I am so glad to have found this place. There are three doctor's at the office. I have been working with Dr. Eric Kusher. I don't know Drs Gregory, but would trust working with them based on the experience with the staff and Dr. Kusher. Here is what South Windsor Neck & Back is not: Churn and burn. In and out in 5 minutes. Those conveyor belt Chiropractic offices give the profession a bad name. At South Windsor Neck & Back, you get treated. I went here because I threw my neck out. Dr. Kusher sat down and talked to me. He asked questions to understand my situation. Then he took time to diagnose the problem. Only then did he treat me. At my old office, I was in and out in 5 to 10 minutes. Each session at South Windsor Neck & Back took about 30 minutes. Sometimes longer. They gave me electric stimulation and then Dr. Kusher adjusted the areas that needed it. He did not needlessly adjust areas that did not require an adjustment. The best part is once my neck was fine, he told me I did not need to come back until I needed it. There was none of this, "You need to come back every 2 weeks for life." This is clearly a group of doctors confidence in their abilities to build a practice without forcing their patients to have unnecessary adjustments. I feel much better and will go back as needed. If you need a Chiropractor and everyone should have one, this is the place to go.
