Long story short- I like Dr. Chen but he needs to give his receptionist, Brenda, some better personal skills and phone etiquette because all three times we spoke she sounded like an uppity bitch. After five visits I was really discouraged that I wasn't receiving individualized attention concentrating on the issue, nor was I utilizing my time efficiently (I had to leave work early for each of these appointments.). After a recommendation to try SWELL, I decided to give-it-a-go for a more personalized PT experience. After my first visit I felt Anthony really listened to my concerns and came up with a plan to effectively address the problems I was having along with the goals I had for my overall fitness. (I'm really picky, and he was very patient with me!) One-on-one PT with Anthony was much different than my former experience. I highly recommend him and his team at SWELL!

I've been a patient of this clinic for about six months, attending roughly once a week. The…read morecombination of care and patient advocacy offered by Kaydee Zimmern and Amy Hayes has been life changing-- absolutely transformative for my health. In addition to pelvic health, they offer a comprehensive program for hypermobility and related disorders, with Kaydee being a registered expert with the official Ehlers Danlos Society. They have not only helped me directly, but their knowledge and willingness to advocate has also paired me with the specialists I desperately needed. Six months ago, I could barely walk through a grocery store without triggering horrible full-body pain. Earlier this month, I walked a 5k with almost no lingering pain, and have kept my mileage up since then. My health, joints, and pain levels are the best they have been in years, and I feel like I've reversed years of exponentially-compiling pain. I feel like I've reclaimed both my body and my life thanks to this amazing team. If you are on the fence about trying this practice, take my word for it and book a first session. It is worth every penny and every hour of time. And if you are searching desperately for a medical professional who understands the impact of hypermobility & connective disorders, this is your clinic.

The pain I was experiencing was extreme and I was at the point where I could barely walk. Dr Hansy performed the operation, but before that, he took the time to thoroughly explain the procedure to both me and my husband. The end result was nothing short of miraculous. The procedure was done as an out-patient and it couldn't have gone better. HIs skill as a physician and surgeon quite literally changed my entire life for the better. By extension, that also changed the lives of those around me. I came to be at a place where I could walk easily and enjoy life once again. I was able to enjoy life with my family. The debilitating and relentless pain came to end. In short, he brought joy back into my life by providing me with the necessary means to continue living in a more meaningful manner. The quality of care went beyond the perfunctory and expected. He was fully engaged in my care as the patient and as a whole being. Just as importantly, he spent time talking to my husband as well. I highly recommend Dr. Hansy. Seeking out Dr. Hansy for your orthopedic needs is giving a gift to yourself. In fact, he is the gift!

Let me start by saying this may be a great place if you are healthy enough to do all the exercises…read morein the program. I would not suggest this place if you are disabled or if you have previous issues or injuries. Where do I start? When I first came to Ira, I explained that I was a complete couch potato and that I was also a disabled veteran with some previous injuries. I told him I wanted a training program that would allow me to progress into increased and intense activity over time (I did not want to go right into kill mode). I also wanted something custom made because of my injuries. The second day that I went to work out at his gym, I ended up injured (doing too much too fast). I sprained a quadricep muscle. Of course I, made him aware of the injury before I left the gym. He had me roll some kind of a pole up and down on my thigh I guess to alleviate the issue. However, as the day wore on the pain grew worse. When I tried to contact him, I could not get him to return any of my messages. I ended having my mom call him to explain I was still having an issue. It was suggested to ice the thigh and come back in a couple of days to work out again. Obviously, I did not go back because I was still in pain. I would send him texts on my progress with his only response being, "Ok, great..." I never heard from him again. There were no inquires made as to whether I was ok or whether or not I would come back or any offer of further assistance. My experience working out at his gym was like being thrown in a massive herd of animals. There was about 25 or more of us. Do this exercise and eat this way. There were people in the group of all fitness levels working out. There was no making sure your form was correct to prevent injury. Also, he (or someone else) would show you a modification of the exercise, but as the training session progressed on he would lose focus of continuing to show modifications to those of us that could not do the regular exercises because we had limitations. I would have to flag him down to show me the modifications. You either got the exercises or you did not. It was a sink or swim kind of experience for me. I felt like I was nothing but a dollar. The only time you received his attention is when you were buying. When I first walked in to meet him it was the same way. He always had something else going on. It was, "I will be with you in a minute." My overall experience was I could not get his attention when I needed it, and when I did his attention and responses were short and pert. I even had the impression that I was a nuisance. I'm not the kind that requires constant attention, but if I am in your face asking a question or making a request its a reasonable one. I understand he is the owner and that he has a lot of people, but still.

I have been going for 3 months now and I don't recall going almost a week with very little to no back pain in the last 10 years, until now.
