I would strongly caution anyone considering Deerbrook Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation for a…read moreloved one. During my mother-in-law's stay, our family experienced repeated failures in communication, lack of proper medical notification, poor wound care, untreated infections, and an overall disregard for her dignity and safety. She ultimately developed a Stage 4 bedsore, sepsis, multiple infections, and was hospitalized after serious issues that we believe should never have been allowed to progress to that level. Questions from family members were often met with hostility or dismissal, and the facility consistently smelled strongly of urine. After transferring her to another facility, the difference in cleanliness, staff professionalism, communication, and quality of care was immediate and heartbreaking to compare. No family should have to experience what ours did at Deerbrook.

This office is in a small office building. Not exactly a traditional spa , more like an office, but still very professional and comfortable. Daniel, the massage therapist is so very kind. His wife greeted me when I arrived, and I only waited maybe 5 minutes to be seen. What really stood out to me, was the consultation before the massage. He throughly explained his accu-pressure approach, and showed me a chart on the wall explaining areas of tension, pressure points, etc. And no, this did not cut into my service time, as some spas rush you in, and throw you out! I was very happy with the massage, and the service I received. I ended up purchasing a package; 3- hour long massages. Daniel even walked me to the building door, since it was my first time and wasn't quite familiar yet. Loved it, and worth a try!

In addition to adjusting her toes the "Dr" proceeded to adjust her neck, back, hips and coccyx, all very roughly though she kept saying that was not necessary and to please not do it so hard. All he kept saying was "just breathe". Now days later she can barely get out of bed, can't lay on her back from the pain. She has bruises on her coccyx and back. We've been to many chiropractors all over the country and NEVER had she had such a terrible experience. Now she just prays that she recovers by the time she goes on her trip to NYC.
