We arrived at 4:30 due to my work hours and they closed at five. It must've been the right timing because we were out by 503 complete with a sling, x-rays and a diagnosis. From the front desk, to the nurse, to the x-ray tech, to the physicians assistant everyone was really friendly despite the fact that we were there right before they closed. We would absolutely recommend their urgent care ortho services bypassing a traditional urgent care. They are experts in bone injuries and get the job done right!

I admit that I have never been a fan of formalized physical therapy. To me it seemed like a waste of time and money. As a runner I knew what i needed to do to rehab myself and did not know what else formalized PT could do for me. Recently though I developed a nasty case of right hip tendonitis that refused to go away and so after much consideration I decided to bite the bullet and see if maybe formalized PT could "cure" me. It also helped that my running czar (Mark C) said "what do you have to lose". I have to say after going here for about a month I am happy to report that I am much better and although not "cured" I am on the road to recovery. All of the therapist's, especially Helen who has been working with me, have been extremely helpful and always have a positive attitude. After an initial assessment during my first appointment I was prescribed exercises do during my appointments and on my own. Whst has been even more more therapeutic has been the assisted stretching and massage that has helped immensely by really getting down to the trouble spots. I was concerned that I would be given the same exercises and left to my own devices BUT every time I have gone to an appointment and something changes for the better or worse my therapy program has also been modified. I feel that they treat me as a runner and are working not only to get me better but to run pain free It sucks getting hurt but I am glad that I went. I have learned some new things to add to my routine.

Every single one of the staff was extremely kind, responsive, and helpful. They work together as a team to make sure each patient gets the individual attention he/she needs. In a couple months I would be coaching a high school baseball team. I needed to be able to pitch batting practice and I was in no condition to do so. I had heard good things about Symmetry Physical Therapy (SPT) in Portland, so I gave them a call. Keith suggested that I come in for an evaluation. Kelly quickly diagnosed a shoulder impingement and started me on a process to resolve the problem. Across a two-month period of about 15 appointments as we worked through a series of varied exercises well-designed to get me back on the mound my shoulder pain gradually subsided. By the time April arrived I was back on the mound throwing several hundred batting practice pitches each week with no shoulder pain. Although not a big office, SPT has all the necessary equipment, and the Physical Therapists have advanced degrees and diverse experience. And you can expect to get their dedicated attention, support and encouragement during your appointment. I should also mention the process of scheduling appointments is easy/flexible and insurance/billing issues are handled professionally and without any hassles. Overall, my experience at SPT was pleasant (although I did manage to finish last in the SPT March Madness pool) and, most importantly, my medical issue was resolved. With all that SPT has to offer there may be no reason to cross the bridge for your physical therapy needs.

Since this is close to my home I decided to give it a try. In the past I had used a larger PT practice in Middletown. On the first day I contacted Symmetry they had a cancellation and I got right in. The owner, Keith, is the physical therapist. I have had a good experience so far. I am on week 3 of a 4 week rehab schedule. Keith has been helpful and informative in the process. He has recommended exercises, stretched my hip and provided soft tissue massage at the incision site to help with my scar and healing. Symmetry PT is a nice addition to Portland and I would highly recommend it.

Nancy is wonderful and has really helped my mom a lot with regaining mobility and strength in her wrist. They are really helpful and flexible with scheduling appointments, and they have been the silver lining of an unfortunate situation for my mom. I'm so thankful for their positive role in her recovery.
