I am so disappointed with this provider. I received a referral from my orthopedist for physical therapy so I checked my insurance's website and found Select Physical Therapy was the very first provider listed as being in-network. I was pleased because this place is located so close to my house, making it very convenient for the twice-a-week sessions my doctor recommended. I called the practice and their first available appointment was not for more than two weeks. I was in some pain, but not agony so I decided to accept the future appointment, again because of the convenient location. One the phone the receptionist took down all of my personal information including my insurance information. There were no issues. A few days later I received an email of forms to fill out in advance of my appointment, and I completed the forms including, again, my insurance information. Today I showed up for my appointment and was given some long, involved weird story about the communication between the medical office and my medical insurance raising "red flags," although no specific details were provided to me. The short story is that this provider is not actually in-network for my insurance. After waiting more than TWO WEEKS for an appointment, doing my own due diligence about checking into my insurance coverage, and providing all my insurance information to this practice not once, but twice, I had to go into the office, all ready for my first physical therapy appointment, only to be turned away. This is unacceptable. Someone is this practice really dropped the ball. This practice should have been able to figure out, with more than two weeks' notice, whether they take my insurance. The receptionist was literally on the phone with my insurance company when I walked in the door! Nothing like waiting until literally the last possible moment when the patient is standing in front of you waiting for their first appointment. Now I need to find a different provider and wait several MORE days before my first therapy appointment. This provider has already cost me more than two weeks of lost time when I could have already had FOUR appointments, I have had zero, all while my discomfort is increasing any my condition is worsening. Thanks for absolutely nothing. read more
