I am surprised no one has reviewed Dr. Strcula yet!…read more I am ashamed to say that up until going to Dr. Strcula I was afraid of the dentist. He was very helpful in getting me over my fear. Throughout my first appointment he was very open and honest explaining everything that he was doing and not asking me questions I couldn't answer when his hands were in my mouth (I hate that). He also does his own cleanings and even asks the patient to take responsibility for suctioning their mouth, which I liked because it gave me a job to focus on rather than worry about what was happening in my mouth. After the initial cleaning and xrays I had to get two cavities filled. Scheduling and rescheduling appointments is simple and made the process of getting back to the dentist easy! Overall if you are looking for a dentist who will listen to you and help you through your fear Dr. Strcula is the person to go to!

I have been to a couple different dentists in the Pittsburgh area, but was recommended to Dr…read more Strcula from a coworker. I could not have been more impressed. He and his entire staff are extremely friendly and helpful. He is extraordinarily nice and detailed in what he is doing and your options. I loved that he would put the x-ray up on the screen and point out different areas that might need a filling, or ones that could wait, etc. I never thought for a second that he was trying to get extra money or fillings out of me, he seemed very honest in what needed addressed and what didn't. He was able to fit me in on very short notice, and I was extremely pleased with the fillings that he placed. I also felt the prices were very reasonable. I would highly recommend Dr. Strcula to anyone looking for a new dentist.

Extortion, hippa violations, health code violations and the worst customer service. Just to name a…read morefew things. I trusted this dentist for years until his wife called and tried to shake me down for $50 by screaming at me because I had to reschedule an appointment days in advance. What a joke. Go somewhere more professional that won't try and rob you and that actually cleans their dental tools.

This review is more about the woman who answers calls and runs the office than their dental care…read more The woman who runs the front office makes this dental practice an absolute nightmare. She is consistently rude, dismissive, and wildly unprofessional. Basic questions are treated like personal attacks, and her tone alone is enough to make patients feel unwelcome. Another issue, however, is billing. When I requested an itemized bill for my elderly father who had been there multiple times recently with AWFUL results--a completely reasonable and standard request--she became flustered annd upset. Even more concerning, the numbers on the bill changed after I questioned them. Charges shifted, totals were altered, and explanations were vague or nonexistent. It left me with serious concerns about transparency and accuracy. Unfortunately my father passsed away so my mother and I just chose to pay the balance and move on for our closure. My dad liked the dentist- he was old school and appreciated that about Dr. Sitterlee. We got one more piece of mail from them and my mom called to personally tell him, "thank you for the help over the years but my husband passed away..." instead she never got to talk to him. The woman who answers the phone started yelling at my mother on the phone, called her a "jerk" for asking to speak directly to Dr. Sitterle and told her never to call back. If I did not witness this myself and with another professional adult in the room I wouldn't have believed someone who runs a business would speak that way on the phone. We tried to call back 3 times after to 1. Explain that we were trying to talk to the doctor for a personal reason and 2. Let her know her unprofessionalism made the worst thing that has ever happened to us a little bit more awful. A medical office should operate with professionalism, clarity, and trust. Unfortunately, this one does not. If you value respectful treatment and honest billing practices, I strongly suggest taking your business elsewhere.

He immediately explained on the phone that he does not take insurance and that he is able to set up a payment plan for future visits. When I walked in and met with Dr. Sams, I immediately knew I could trust him. He asked me about my problems and then when we got into the exam, he could tell exactly what I meant when I was telling him about my symptoms. He validated everything that I was worried about and explained everything to me and was very patient. He even handed me a mirror and showed me the things that he was pointing to in my mouth. While I would prefer a doctor who takes my dental insurance, I have no problem going to him and paying out-of-pocket.

I called Dr. Sams, he was very nice on the phone and he told me how much it would be, and to see him at 3 pm. Not only was he nice to me, but I had my elderly step mom with me, and he was very nice to her as well. He had no problem making me feel less anxious. He was very calming and kept telling me I was doing well and to breathe. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is having an emergency. He is all around a great guy. He told me he could do three different percedures, and I chose to have the tooth removed. He drew a tooth on paper and showed me what he would do for a root canal for so much money, and they he said he could remove the tooth for $377, but this included the exam and X-ray. It showed I had an infection into my jaw from my tooth. When he was done, he showed me the tooth so I could see it came out in one piece. Gave me pain meds and antibiotics. Great care.

Literally traumatizing--a ton of unnecessary pain, gaslighting, condescension, and I got a cold…read morethere and was out of work nearly a week. And now I have to get a second opinion because I've heard so many stories about how inaccurate her assessments are. The badly trained hygienist shoved the whole metal x ray holder in my mouth (the metal ring should be outside) for maybe a dozen x rays. I started screaming in pain and was even in tears. When the doctor came out she expressed no concern for my pain, just blaming my experience on my large tongue. It had never once been brought up before and it was a really crappy way to get around validating my pain. Later that day as I started having symptoms of a respiratory infection, I lost it. In addition to that agony and degradation, now I had to put everything on hold for nearly a week because of whatever nastiness was on that metal thing shoved to the back of my throat again and again, all while the "medical professional" blamed me for my large tongue. And I missed out on paid work I really needed. Dr Monahan hasn't responded to my other review or two emails. I will not contact her directly again but if she wants to apologize she can reach out to me. I am definitely going to report her and her practice and encourage others to do the same. No one should have to endure this.

They attempted to withhold my Medical records for ransom which is illegal under HIPAA…read more They tried to say they could not release my medical records until I paid a $50 same day cancellation fee. THIS IS HIGHLY HIGHLY ILLEGAL. They did this while a girl, whose name is Emma, sat on the phone being condescending. Oblivious to the law or the gravity of the situation. They only released them after I filed a complaint. Do not allow medical professionals to withhold your medical information under any circumstances! This is why we have laws against this. STAY AWAY!
