I cannot recommend Selden Optometry enough. Dr. Wallach and her staff are polite and professional, with easy scheduling and communication options. Most importantly, Dr. Wallach is an excellent optometrist who takes the time to conduct thorough examinations and answer all questions. read more

I have found the best optometrist in Norfolk. Seldon Optometry not only has the best optometry, they have a fabulous frame collection. The location is very easy to get to; metered parking on the street, or there is a garage one block East. read more

I love Selden Optometry and know that my eyes are going to be well taken care of. Appointments are easy to make, it is conveniently located on Granby St (you can park at MacArthur Mall and it is easy to get to). The place is immaculate, the front desk is friendly and helpful and Dr Wallach is the best! Easy to find reasonably priced glasses too! Thanks a bunch Selden Optometry! read more

Easy to schedule an appointment and the doc was friendly and knowledgeable! Had my prescription ready quickly.

I originally chose this optometrist for the location, but will definitely stick with Dr. Wallach and co. for their excellent service. Upon entering, the office is clean and offers a great range of eyewear. Really nice, high-end designs if you're interested in new glasses. The staff's demeanor is very warm and welcoming. Before I was a patient, my eyeglasses were loose and I walked in seeing if they had an eyeglass repair kit. They didn't but they fixed my glasses for free. How nice is that? I ended up coming as a patient because my contacts prescription expired. Dr. Wallach gave such thorough service (even finding a coupon for me when I asked if there were any specials going on!). I get comfortable with her for both her warm personality and knowledge. Highly recommend! read more

Dr. Wallach and her staff were awesome! Dr. Wallach took the time and much patience on fitting and tweaking contact lenses for my multifocal needs. I go hack next week to see if any more tweaks are needed. Exam was very thorough and equipment is very modern and up to date . I normally wear glasses for reading and computer work but got tired of not seeing menus when at restaurants and bars because I forgot my glasses. I read reviews on Yelp and I can say they are accuracy in saying that she specializes in contact lens challenges ! read more

This review is for the front desk staff. After having a routine appointment, I received a bill in the mail stating my insurance did not cover me for the appointment. I called this morning to clarify the issue and let the women know that it's important they don't use my social because my husband is the sponsor. She told me that I can call my insurance and take of it myself because they already ran it once . I told her I did call my insurance and that's why I'm asking her to run it again properly (w my benefits number and the sponsors social as I am not the sponsor ). When I tried to explain the importance of using the sponsors social and not my own (as I was active duty and that can confuse tricare) , she told me that she's working by herself and they usually only run it once anyway. I told her it sounds like it wasn't done properly and She told me she will see what she can do and hung up. It's frustrating that I'm being billed for something because the front desk staff refuses to do her job properly. read more

This locally owned staple of Downtown Norfolk is nothing short of exemplary! I have since 1998 used this fantastic boutique for all of my optometry services and purchases.  I have had the same timeless frames since 2000, all thanks to their expertise. I have worked and lived across our country and abroad.  There was a 6-year gap where I used a larger chain optometry company which was a struggle on many levels.  So, I returned to what I know is the best, Selden Optometry!  Dr. Wallacach professionalism, and her personal interest in my needs and wants. The exquisite selection of frames is nothing short of what this business strives to be, an outstanding Optometry Boutique.  However, the team is even as amazing as the business.  Valerie whose demeanor has never waivered, her knowledge and energy are amazing. To the Iconic Chuck who I think can repair the most destroyed pair of frames, also sharing his extensive knowledge and advice.   Each time I return I ALWAYS feel like I have everyone's undivided attention, and am more like family. That includes the embarrassment on my part from the number of instances in which I have damaged my glasses. It's always the small amount of laughter "what happened?' Again nothing short of family! Who else is going to do everything to repair my glasses while getting a small amount of laughter at my expense?  This business is incredibly stellar! read more

I have worn glasses or contacts since I was four years old so I have seen my share of eye doctors over the years. I absolutely LOVE Dr. Wallach. Her staff and herself are personable, patient and make you feel like you are visiting old friends and not the doctors office. She is funny and explains exactly what she is doing and why. She is VERY thorough and answers all your questions. I have never felt rushed in and rushed out. Dr. Wallach remembers me and asks about my children. When my oldest child needed an eye exam for the first time, she was very nervous. Dr. Wallach put her at ease and ever since when I tell my daughter "its time to schedule an eye exam", my daughter says, "oh I like her, she is fun!" read more

Dr. Wallach helped me to emotionally heal from an upsetting episode that occurred at another eye doctor's office in Northern Virginia! (At this other office in NOVA, I was flat-out denied contact lenses after taking longer than the doctor's ideal amount of time to learn to put in the lenses in my eyes. Also, the glasses given to me at the other office were very different than what I had chosen. Needless to say, I was very deflated with dealing with optometrists at this point.) However, back on topic, her friendly and upbeat demeanor made the appointment flow at a pace so quickly, I resented the fact the it ended so soon! That day, I left the Selden Optometry with my new contacts after only about less than an hour of being there, versus the almost 2+ hour painful appointment that I'd experienced at a VisionWorks in Northern Virginia! As long as I am in the Hampton Roads area, this will always be my optometrist's office of choice! read more

THE BEST OF THE BEST!!! No better selection of eye glasses to be found anywhere in this area -SIMPLY AMAZING! If you describe your objective - Valerie will pull several eye glass options for you to select from and honestly answer your questions considering the style, fit, appearance and physics of optometry. Extremely professional, casual approach to business. They LOVE what they do - obviously! Dr. Wallach is amazing! Charles and Valerie are the best! I recommend Selden Optometry to everyone! (At least once a week I am complimented on my unique glasses) A+++++++.... A RELAXING, FUN, PROFESSIONAL shopping experience for eyewear - THE WAY IT SHOUD BE! read more

I went here for a routine eye exam and contact lense fitting and went into the visit with no expectations at all. However, I was immediately surprised by the friendly and relaxed receptionist (a plus, for sure). My experiance got even better when meeting with Dr. Wallach. She was so incredibly friednly and warm as well as personable and patient with me as we reviewed my medical history. She also was professional and knowledgable, explaining what she was doing and looking for through each process. It seems to me, that all around Selden Optomology is an overall friendly and professional office and I will definetly stay a patient there! read more

This optometry practice is wonderful. Dr Wallach pays close attention to details, medically and aesthetically. I wear a very strong prescription (think "Coke bottle" type) and she was the first to take the time to find a frame that not only supported the heavy lenses but we're also comfortable and complementary. Her staff is helpful and professional. I tell all my friends about her. read more

This was my first visit to Selden Optometry! I found them with a quick google search of local optometrists and they had the best ratings and I see why! This visit was for my daughter and I'll be making an appointment for myself as well! Very clean and organized office space with a very good selection of frames, something for everyone there!! Dr. Wallach was very friendly and made my daughter laugh the whole time during the visit! She answered any and all questions I had and felt very confident in her answers. I'd also like to mention the fact I had my almost three year old along for the visit and was VERY happy to see toys and coloring books in the waiting area! Dr Wallach told me to bring the whole basket of toys in the exam room to keep the little one busy and it did just that! It was awesome to have them cater to my little one for my own sanity's sake! Overall we had a wonderful experience and I can't wait for my own appointment! I'll most certainly tell anyone and everyone in the market for an optometrist to schedule with Selden!!! read more

Seldom Optometry was very thorough, saw me a second time at no charges because I was having an eye problem when I was seen for my first appointment. Dr. Wallach is very thorough, I have not had an exam like that in years. My last doctor kept saying my prescription was still good for the last five years, however Dr. Wallach tweaked it and I see much better. Thank you read more

Dr. Wallach was super friendly and very thorough in my eye exam, I had not been to the eye doctor in many years and she went through the full battery of tests on my eyes, including glaucoma and peripheral vision, she also got me a perfect prescription for my glasses! The front desk and sales assistants were also very helpful when picking out my frames and were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Dr. Wallach has an amazing selection of frame styles and my lenses were fit and finished in less than a week. Would highly recommend if you are looking for new glasses or a new eye doctor. read more

You can't ask for a better and more caring eye doctor. The hours are good and the staff is quite helpful and friendly. Dr. Diane Wallach is patient, funny, realistic and knows her stuff. I went last fall originally for a second opinion and switched from my previous eye doctor the same day. They have a really nice stock of glasses, too, and they are able to order them in a very timely fashion. read more
