The Radlers we had to drink both times were more on the fruit soda side, which meant they were sweet and crisp and not bitter. And finally, the food was superb. My girlfriend and I were eating when two Indian men walked in and asked for a table. It was around 10 PM and the restaurant closed at 11. They were told the kitchen was closed, which is completely fair. What happened afterward was not. The men politely asked if they could see a menu and make a reservation for the following day. They were not argumentative whatsoever about being unable to eat that night. The waiter refused to give them a menu or make a reservation and said, "You came all the way from India to look at a menu?" The men again responded politely. The waiter then said, "You Indian people are always showing up so late." It was completely uncalled for and extremely uncomfortable to witness. Nothing about the behavior of these two men warranted being spoken to that way. People should be treated based on their actions, not stereotyped or discriminated against because of their race or ethnicity. My girlfriend and I were so uncomfortable with what we witnessed that we decided to leave. On our way out, I spoke with the two men and told them that I had witnessed the interaction and thought the way they were treated was completely inappropriate. Despite the food being great, I will not support a restaurant where I personally witnessed customers being treated this way.

And the fish is as fresh as it gets- the Forelle (trout) pulled from the lake and kept in a tank alongside the Saibling, pulled out just before being cooked and served. Absolutely fabulous. My dining partner went for the bed tartare (crazy indescribable little sides served with it), and the fried Steinpilze (porcini, in season) VERY interesting and excellent wine list. It was well worth the hour drive for us. We'll be making that trip a lot!

Austria is all about the schnitzel so we got that with a side of potato salad and cup of cafe melange. Their beef is just wonderful, the carpaccio, tartare, and steaks are to die for. Even their simple dish of noodles and cabbage was beautifully executed. When we went they had a keg of Augustiner dark and white beer that was left over from the Munich Oktoberfest, and a lovely on tap Weiss beer that was one of the best in town. The waiters were great, spoke quite decent English. There was a live band as well that played really well and even though we were at the next table, it was a normal volume and we could still have a conversation about how good the beer and food was.
